- Foton Tunland V7 4x4 First Drive Impressions! [Car Feature]
The 2024 Foton Tunland V7 4x4 is a full size truck that is priced like a mid size truck. This is the only truck along with the 2024 Foton Tunland V9 that is full size truck and is priced below 2 million pesos. In this Filipino car review, we take the 2024 Foton Tunland V7 4x4 on a road trip from Manila to Subic to see how well it drives on the road. The 2024 Foton Tunland V7 price is very compelling indeed, since it is a full size truck with a luxurious cabin, decent power and the space that you can expect from a full size truck. The 2024 Foton Tunland V7 looks like a Ford F150, while the more expensive 2024 Foton Tunland V9 looks more like a Dodge Ram Rebel.
The 2024 Foton Tunland V7 has a leaf spring rear suspension while the 2024 Foton Tunland V9 has a coil spring rear suspension. In this video, we get to drive the 2024 Foton Tunland V7 along with @RiTRidinginTandem and @jaywalkur as we head out from Quezon City to Subic.

Probably my next UTE is the V9. With the massive size of the truck that below 2M, absolutely it is worth the price.
nice review sir. waiting for your next review for the Tunland V9 before my big purchase. Thanks
Can’t wait for you to review this. Mukhang solid.
Ayos to.
Sana ang Foton Thunder 4xr MT sunod hehehhe. Nice review pare!
BIG truck and it’s now here. Sarap cguro mag test drive nyan may Foton dealer dito malapit sakin.
hehe not used to seeing RiT without her wife. Nice video
That interior has RAM vibes🐏
napaka bangis ng design wooooooh napaka husay ng foctory
Nice looking truck, does it come with lockers in the rear and front end? The price is definitely right for the size.
We have the V7 and it's all good super comfy and got plenty of power too. You can set also the driving mode on the 14.6 inch monitor.
When the full review of the 2024 Nissan Navara PRO-4X with an overhauled interior and sharkfin antenna, car feature of the Navara Calibre-X after it.
Reygan, I suggest you do the Driver's POV while driving and talking instead on focusing on your faces. it makes your videos more interesting and relaxing while seeing the cockpit view, the road and the environment your driving in.
you should also review the speed from 0-100km
nice
I hope may bagong toplander ang foton.
For the price, I can't really make fun of this trucks lack of power. Yes it has less power than most mid-size trucks, but it's sheer presence and real estate could make up for it. At PH driving speeds, it's probably just fine. For less than 2 million, you can't have everything, but what it has is probably enough.
Very true those who bash I am sure wala namang maraming vehicles yan. Those who have plenty of vehicles would welcome them because all cars are unique.
Truck power isn't important.
It's the torque that matters.
Power doesn't mean squat if it doesn't have the torque to carry heavy stuff
V9 review please
Had this truck hit the market here in the Philippines before I bought my 2024 conquest 4x4 I would have got it hands down. Theres nothing like the ride of a full sized truck
nope, it's just big on the outside but not as spacious as the real full-sized ones.
@johnpaul1701 I used to own a toyota tundra back in tge states. I miss a truck that has a large interior
@@johnpaul1701 But still it has more space than a midsize pickup.
@@johnpaul1701have you been inside this one or the v9??
@@DaddyLongLegs387 yes. when they are both on display at their MIAS booth. i have been inside an F-150 and I can tell there's a size difference right away
Fuel economy?
Haha sarap ipasok niyan sa palengke boss... Banggain sabiyin ka talaga ng kariton😂😂😂
Parabolic left spring daw gamit nyan sir so parang lang dw coil spring
I've seen a lot of Foton traveller and Thunder na umaabot ng 300K-400K kilometers na takbo and still going strong. These Cummins diesel is no joke when it comes to reliability. Parts nowadays is easy yo find.
They use aucan ingine now sir
@@joebertpaduelan1701 German tech naman ngayon engine nila which i think okay parin...
Ford F-150 & Nissan Titan had a baby🤔
Yes yes yes finally
Let’s wait and see. Don’t judge a book by its cover.
pick up trucks are workhorse and made for pulling and towing, not for racing
Not anymore in this generation. More of Lifestyle pickup.
Huge truck with big space and a small engine and a lightweight one that is what the Engineers in Ricardo put in this Foton Tunland. Are you successful than the Ricardo's British team engineers. Now you know. Twas made by Ricardo the Foton Aucan engine. Designed and Built for Reliability and Better Fuel-Efficiency in mind.
If they are both full size trucks what is the market position of the v7 and v9 respectively because it's my first time seeing a chinese full size pickup
Affordable F150/RAM Rebel positioning
@@ReygansRides Looks and size of a full size but the performance of a mid-size in terms of hp & torque. It has less than half the power of the RAM Rebel, but then again, it's less than half the cost. The cheapest full size truck in the PH right now is $5 million pesos, actually $5.7 million with required tax. So at less than 2 million, this could make sense for a lot more buyers besides VIPs and Senators, the current buyers of full size trucks and SUVs.
@@gpaje and those VIPs and senators that youre talking about dont even need the hp and torque. They're just buying big cars to impose authority in the road anyways.
@@inihawfestival7677 Sure, that's the point no? They buy big powerful vehicles as a statement, both in terms of capability they will never need and at a price no one but them can afford, not just to buy but to maintain, register and feed fuel. None of them would buy a Foton, because it wouldn't be VIP.
@@gpajeisn't the F-150 locally available anymore? i think it's only around 3 to 4M pesos.

Well it's up to the owner and not to someone else.
@@user-db4nz9dj2e if you are selling a vehicle and marketing it for offroad/overlanding use, it's pretty much understood that, at a minimum, buyers would at least need to change the tires. It's up to the owner, but nobody who will buy this to use in any semi-serious offroad or overlanding capacity will keep this stock. And that's when the underpowered nature of the engine will show.
Who said underpower yung makina? What you owned it. Try it 1st before you judge it put it into Sports mode and see if Toyota Hilux can keep up with it. I have tried it and sure it got power to boast. Eat my dust.
@@user-db4nz9dj2e Have you tried going off road? Do you have experience with trails? Ahente ka ba ng Foton? That company is selling this as a 4x4 pickup, so I'm assuming para dun ang sasakyan na to, hindi sa highway.
Pero I've seen crossovers with 300nm of torque do well in light offroading. So once people start setting up and actually go offroad with this car, maybe I'll be proven wrong. Ang problema is walang gustong bumili sa mga enthusiast groups na miyembro ako since nakukulangan nga sila sa power at unproven pa ang durability. Pero malay mo may mga willing magsayang ng 2m para lang itry, then we can put it through its paces. Pero until then, buyer beware.
161HP? isnt too slow for that huge body?
They should've put a sunroof on that tank, that will sell a lot
Average fuel consumption?

i believe you know that it's really not as big and as spacious as the common full-size trucks. it's like a midsize truck with body kits to make it look big outside
No is not I already been in one and is really spacious, tall and wide in and out , real full size pickup, you are talking is about the Raptor
@@miguelventura6344 i have been in one when I visited the Manila International Auto Show. I have been in a Ford F-150 as well and I know there's a difference in size both inside and outside
Wrong its spacious enough my dad is 6'1 and I am 6 the front seat is on full adjustment still there are plenty of leg room at the back.
China ❤
Kia Tasman is also a pick-up truck that is worth the wait.
Is it even coming here in the PH? I've only seen them being talked about by Australian-based car reviewers.
No word yet if Kia Ph will bring it in. big possibility it won't come in though.
@@ReygansRidesThis Foton Tunland V7 is a Chinese Ford F-150.
FOTON F150
That is the Tunland V7 , the V9 is like the RAM lol
Copy cat be like😂 can't they make their own design?
@@itsme-vw5yoAs long as its sellable copy cat why not. Copy cat of a rediculous 7M for only less than 2M. Thats the way to go. There are no rules in making one.
Akala ko ford kamukha😅
selling point: FULL size, looks, price
downside: underpowered (but acceptable because of price), reliability (debatable)
verdict: if you want to be unique on the road then choose this. you may remove the logo and you can keep all watchers thinking what good looking truck it is
It's not underpowered.
The power is good enough.
It's a truck, not a GTR. It's not supposed to go fast.
Torque is what's important and it's got it quite good
Why I feel that this truck engine is like putting a Scooter engine on a Semi Truck
Well sorry to disagree 161 horse power is only for top speed torque is more important.
Torque is important if youre talking about pulling capacity ng pickup...
@user-db4nz9dj2e even the tirque is underpowered compare to tge size of this thing, a avg mid size pick up truck has more torque than this one.

Huge truck with a very small engine.
Is actually quite powerful and lots of torque
@@miguelventura6344 the power is almost the same as navara but navara is way lighter than foton. The problem here is that the truck is huge compared to other commom pickups here in PH but the engine is pretty small.
@@miguelventura6344 actually with 161 hp, it has less power than just about any midsize truck, the torque is only a little bit more than your typical mid-size so it's not really powerful, but it's probably fine for the PH and its targets buyers.
Torque is more important than horses. Why would you drive a pickup at top speed. What do you think a sports car.😅
@user-db4nz9dj2e sure, but that doesn't change the fact it has less horsepower than a typical mid-size, and only a little bit more torque. The best you can probably say is that it has adequate power, and for the price that's fine.
pwe chinese made bulok quality hahahaha,
Did you own one? Or just someone who hates anything from China?
