So, in the end Carnaval is a celebretion where people do what they want, since it's the last time they doing it in a while. I grew up watching this I Brazilian Portuguese ❤️🇧🇷 I promise, as beautiful as it looks in the movie, in real life it’s ten times better - you really can’t find it anywhere else! sadly, the pretty parts tend to be frequented by mostly tourists (often rude and entitled and pervy) and the rich and it’s not just Rio, there are places that look magical all throughout the country and the people are warm and welcoming + the food and the music are absolute treasures! Growing up carnaval was about dressing up and making a mess of glitter and confetti and celebrating everything and nothing at the same time - right now we’re approaching the winter festival called Festa Junina (which i personally like better than carnaval)
