Strange but when I put the nucleus below the outer membrane it did not show thru like yours despite having both comps set to screen. As others have stated. BRILLIANT.
Hi Curious Refuge, excellent work congratulations and much appreciation! I think there is fundamental issue with the method, I am wondering if you have an idea how to fix it: the way how the cells/nuclei are moving during the cell-division looks unnatural, because the moving elements are not taking their turbulent noise patterns with them, but the maps underneath them are steady. The cells look odd while moving, because they are moving, but not their turbulent displacement pattern with them... Do you know my friend how to fix it? Congrat again for your great work! Cheers!
I'm not sure how to explain this, but in your initial example it looks as if the texture (what's created with the Vector Blur) within the cells moves with the motion. What you make in the tutorial looks like a stationary texture/effect that the cells cross over. Is there an extra step we can take to make the texture more dynamic?
Interesting point! I think you could probably add in a bit of that secondary animation by setting a keyframe on the angle offset parameter in vector blur.
The pick whip came up with an error message that disabled the parenting. I did everything exactly as the tutorial said, but the message totally halts any progress with the tutorial. :/
Hello, this is a very old video so you probably won't respond, but if you still have the project please put it somewhere to download it since the link in the description doesn't contain any file to donwload
One of the best tutorial I have ever seen. Its a shame it has so little views.
haha I don't know why, but 14:12 splitting the windows to pick-whip between comps blew my mind a bit. lol definitely never thought of doing that.
Brilliant tutorial, you should do more you've got a talent for teaching.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm going to try to create a lot more tutorials in the coming months :) have any suggestions?

I'm struggling to parent between different compositions... any advise on where I might be going wrong?
Hmm... Are you placing both composition timelines on top of each-other?
Don't know if this concerns you or not, but I've seen this video re-uploaded on another channel. I'll share the link if you want.
