Can't wait for your team to come down to Austin, Texas and share all the latest in AI film! I'm a big fan and have been diving into AI horror content myself, trying to sharpen my skills. Looking forward to learning from you all and seeing what new ideas you bring!
Absolutely correct. There’s almost no consistency with whatsoever with runway. I think we’re all so fascinated by this new toy and how we can do just a few quick prompts and get something super cool, that we forget that there’s almost no rhyme or reason to the next output with the exact same prompt. It’s like herding cats. And it’s extremely addictive so hours can be lost going for one specific shot. Then runway is trying to find another way to upcharge for extra little add on AI stuff. I’d say Hollywood is safe for now, they’ve still got the secret codes and prompts locked down, but the Genie will get all the way out of the bottle, just a matter of time
Why? Every band in the 60's all had drums, bass, pianos, guitars and recording studios - and the Beatles made Sgt Pepper. They all had the same tools - so why didn't every band make Sgt Pepper? In the same way - creativity will be king alongside the same tools at everyone's disposal.
The skill required to play those instruments and then to compose Sgt Pepper can’t be compared to writing a prompt into an image generator and then loading it into Runway. Anyone with a little bit of common sense and nohow will be able to create these types of works. Can you imagine how over saturated it’s going to become over the coming years? The production of visuals has already lost some of it’s charm and magic, imo
@@curiousrefuge it is indeed. Apologies for sounding negative, that’s just my thoughts on it. Appreciate your content on it though, it’s very interesting.
Runway Video to video has no preview and is to expensive imo 100 credits for 10 seconds and that 10 seconds is way to short and often does not follow the prompts.
The best way to use these paid AI programs is generally getting the top tier plan and using it to ultimately make monetizable content. Runway is designed for filmmakers, really, and is a pro tool. I have their Monthly Unlimited Generations Plan (for now), but they need to step their game up, and FAST, for their animation capacity is nowhere near as advanced as MiniMax, which is currently 100% free.
Wow, thank you so much for featuring "Breathkeeper" as one of your AI films of the week and for your kind words! 😍😍😍 For anyone who wants to watch the full movie in glorious 4K, here’s the link: ruclips.net/video/dTMPUULbpus/видео.html

this is gunna help movie studios with so many things like replacing cgi, producing backgrounds instantly, weather effects, casting, editing, and storyboarding ... i wonder if movies will be made much faster now
Hollywood's future is to make billion dollar deals today, and contemplate naval tomorrow when open source matches the capabilities, making monopoly impossible.
One important question: Do Lionsgate produced generated content get rejected by the copyright office the same way it would if it was a non-corporate project or do they have such a heavy attorney team that they can ignore the law? Does this mean, differently phrased, that we can go ahead and create freely and get intellectually involved into our own properties or is AI still soiling the soup when it comes to copyrightability for lambda individuals who don't own an army of lawyers?
@@curiousrefuge It's important to differentiate between various types of intellectual property (IP) and their applications. Even if you technically own the IP rights to certain character performances, creating virtual replicas typically requires written consent. The same principles apply to, voice actors and the broader community of content creators. The list of considerations continues to expand as AI tech evolves.
@@labmike3d Many IP material comes from authors from the 20eth century who are dead. While the companies have been bought and sold and passed from a owner to the next, I urge the importance to question the legitimacy of copyright protection under such conditions whereas cultures created legends through centuries, and these are just the legends of the previous century and while Disney made a movie about Ripunzel, they never owned the Ripunzel story. Following the same principle, Disney is long gone and his legacy would be in better hands in the public domain than in the hands of such extreme corporations as modern disney. What's your take on this?
@@CheesecakeJohnson-g7q The landscape of intellectual property (IP) is indeed undergoing significant changes due to advancements in AI. Let's examine the shifts occurring in the music industry. For decades, samplers were widely used without much dispute. However, with the advent of AI and voice cloning technologies, the dynamics around IP are evolving rapidly. A few days ago, a prominent RUclipsr with millions of views per video shared that he is struggling to protect his IP in China. He expressed curiosity about the future implications as engines like Kling and MiniMax continue to advance. It raises the question of how IP protection will adapt to today's AI developments. There are many questions to consider, and only time will reveal the answers. Today, AI empowers everyone to become a creator, enabling people to play instruments or sing without traditional barriers. However, the critical question remains: who will listen to and financially support these performances? 😉

For Runway’s new feature to be as useful as possible, it needs consistent characters, as well as the ability to have multiple consistent characters interacting with each other in a scene. Imagine acting out a scene with your friends, and the AI would be able to depict each person as a consistent character who looks the same in every scene that is generated. I want to be able to create difficult scenes with multiple consistent characters that AI generally struggles with, such as a hug, a kiss, holding hands, a piggy back ride, hand-clapping games, dancing tango, wrestling, etc.
I agree. That is my biggest struggle using AI at the moment compared to hiring a cast and crew that can deliver the script and I can edit consistent character interactions. Looking forward to when AI is a seamless transition from character to character, scene to scene and alternatively interacting with each other and the consistent environment created.
Will we have access to the model that will be created by runway in conjunction with lionsgates long experience in filmmaking, or it will specific use to lionsgate studio?
Personal question. I'm a portrait painter and have several timelapses of me painting my portraits. I want to create a video of the timelapse progression of me painting , and as I'm painting they are talking to the camera. Does this make sense? Do you have any idea what platform i could use for this? EDIT: I should also note that I have a background working in filmmaking and editing so feel free to go advanced with your advice/recommendations if you need to.
And there we have it. Copyright will be what separate studios from independent creators. The big studios will have AI trained on their own content. Maybe this will end up hurting the big guys as they continue to put out even more stale content while Indies continue to innovate.
I watched those three AI films at the end. They're very good, but I look forward to the day when we see clips quite a bit longer than 10 seconds. There's just too much shot hopping for my eyes. But again, these were well done.
Hey! I tried using your GPT Prompt generator but when I click on the link it opens a blank page on my chat GPT desktop app. Am I doing something wrong?
