Well, I am for the right side. The colors go well with a nest with the browns and greens, then all you need is to add branch-like stitches. But just do what looks good to you. ❤
Love the idea behind your hexi gathering if scraps nest. I must admit I’d put it on backwards or maybe as a flip as I love the messy nesty look. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if you used text from Edith Holden inside your hexies as hexi papers. So many ideas 🤗 loving watching you as I start on my 2nd piece for the next prompt. I can never stop at one 😆 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
Thanks so much Christine, I’ve re-done them as book pages, but drat! I should have used Edith Holden pages, I’ve used the bird book now though and am happy with how it looks - our minds must work in a similar way! Haha. And you’re bursting with ideas, so why stop at one project - looking forward to seeing your creativity - all the best Sally 🌼💛😊
Looking good Sally. Maybe you could stitch some tangled threads or outs throughout the right side of the the hexi nest in order to get it to look more nest like?
I love your idea! I agree that the back of your hexi piece feels more nesty. Maybe you could go over your white paper bits with a bit of coffee or tea to mute the color instead of starting from scratch. I'm planning on including a "Nest Materials" bit on my layout where I put a snippet of each of my textiles listing if it represents leaves or twigs or hair etc. in the nest construction to make it feel more field notey. I thought maybe you could think about that idea since you purposely picked fabrics to represent those things too. Maybe what goes on the back of your doily flip, like what you did with your daffodils. Just something to think about. Very inspirational video! So creative ❤
Hi Michelle, thanks for your lovely words, I think the back too and I love your idea of listing all the pieces that make up the nest - I wish I’d have thought of the tea staining, I’ve just taken out all the pieces and replaced them with book pages now though 🌼💛😊
@@lynnstewart7034 sometimes you just have to go with your gut, and mine is saying turn it round, I’ve now replaced the papers with old book pages and I love it 🌼💛😊
Love your nest 🪺 definitely the wrong side is the right choice 😊

Thanks so much Elizabeth 💛🌼😊
Love the idea for the nest. You could roll up de outer row so you would see the back too and it would look more 3D like a nest does.
Thanks so much 🌼😊💛
Great idea Sally , think definitely the wrong way round for the nest . Look forwards to see what you end up deciding to do xx
Thanks so much Pat, wrong side it is 🌼💛💛

Laughing as I posted this comment when I started watching and then later in the video you were saying maybe old book pages.

I think the nest looks good the wrong side, but if you wanted the right side maybe go over it in some brown thread.
Thanks Kristy - decision made, the ‘wrong’ side it is 🌼💛😊
It's looking great so far, can't you just take the papers out of the hexies? Whatever you do will be wonderful I'm sure :) take care
- Jeanette
Thanks so much Jeanette, I’ve took them out now, but they were looking too plain, so I’ve re-filled them with book pages 💛🌼😊
I’m team wrong side but, as K3n always says, “you do you!”. It’s your journal after all.
Thanks Lynn, wrong side it is 🌼💛😊
@@DottyBeeVintage Ooh, are you stepping outside your comfort zone? I’m not good at it but, when I do, it’s been worth it.
