    There is absolutely NO DOUBT in my mind the Good Doc is onto something extremely beneficial for people.. I tam 70, take the Memory Caps, ..but no, I do not work for Dr. Dharma, though awhile back, did have the opportunity to meet his lovely wife...As for me, I have been doing my best writing and creative projects during this very period in my life. Accidental? I don't think so!! Quality, healthful diet, social engagement, meditation and inner practice, stress management, vitamin supplements, and a strong, actively vital outlook...all are critical to brain, and overall physical health. I urge others to test this for themselves, and see the results!!

    I have monitored my mindfulness with the EEG device Muse S and my scores with Kirtan Kriya are high to very high. My sleep monitored by the Muse S and app SleepScore definitely improved. Thank you Dr. Dharma for the information that will encourage and improve us. Thanks to Dr, Khalsa.

    I am 91: have been doing this for 4 mos for depression. HARVARD MEDICAL reports on Google. Also using St John's Wort. I don't have an objective way to measure my brain but my family in US can hear my progress on the phone. My progress in irregular but I intend to continue as long as I can. I live with demented people who do nothing for themselves. l am the only one who can leave the Casa alone to walk my dog. I don't want to join the dementia crowd. It's easy. I am lazy. I am reading my way thru 2 US libraries but that alone cannot sustain me.

    While practicing this chant every day I found that after a certain point I could feel my heartbeat increase very perceptiblty for just a matter of a few seconds at a specific point in the chant. It felt as if I had just gotten a shot of adrenaline for a moment. Interesting.

    Some evidence exists that conventional meditation has benefit to alleviate the psychosomatic diseases, such as
    stress, tension states and anxiety, but we are in search for that spontaneous, effortless and natural meditation that is
    part and parcel of our daily lives and keeps us away from the evil vices and instincts, like lust, greed, anger, ego and
    attachment.
    Guru Nanak doctrine explains this with the following verse,
    haath paao kar kaam subh
    cheeth nirunjun naal
    With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your
    conscience remain with the Immaculate Lord.

    • @Awakeaware9
      @Awakeaware9 4 года назад +3

      “Keep us away from the evil vices and instincts like lust, greed anger, ego and attachment” well said but we are a whole entity; ying and yang and at times we need to face the yang side utterly and totally. Stare it right in the face; it takes courage to look at those emotion straight on.
      Look at them so deeply that we understand and accept why they are there and how deeply routed they are. Meditating and just focusing on the light does not suffice. The real teacher is dealing with the darkness in all of us & it takes real hard work to embrace it and to accept it. Only darkness can teach one about true light. Having said all this; I did love what you wrote:)

    It's a motivating video. One question though: I am searching for a kriya to clear subconscious baggage. Found Sudarshan kriya, which is so tough. How can something so simple as KK claim to do the same job so easily? If it does, my life would change.

    Dear Dr. Arjan,
    in some sources you can find 11 min. as a minimum for KK and in other sources 12 min. What is the reason for such difference? And what is, you think, the correct time?
    Many thanks! Sat Nam 🙏

    • @drarjan
      @drarjan  10 месяцев назад +1

      Typically I see it as 11 minutes but in kriyas such as Kirtan Kriya, it's 12 minutes just by nature of the timing for each particular meditation. Hope that helps!

  • @captainred441

    Is there anybody else that had a bad experience with this kriya? I did it in 2005 and it had the opposite effect on me. My memory, which had been excellent, suddenly went bad. I forgot my friend's phone number when I wanted to phone her about half an hour after the first time I tried the kryia. I started hearing voices then as well (still do), my thoughts kept interrupting each other for months and this made me think I was loosing my mind. My imagination started running wild with harmful, destructive pictures. Before then, imaginig the 'L' in my head was really easy and my imagination vivid and resourceful, but something got damaged, it seemed. When I hear people talking about doing this kryia to prevent or help with memory loss, I blows my mind, wondering where did I go wrong to have lost, and not gained anything from it and when I hear people talking about their experiences of its benefits - and I do believe them - it feels almost surreal to be so excluded.

  • @thegeraldinekuss

    Does one have to do it for exactly the amount of minutes he prescribes? I do it lying down & get lost in time. I 'm doing in 5 X each & 1 to stretch. Will it have the same effect?

      I was doing a 6-minute version for a week. I switched to the 12-minute one. The next morning , I remembered my dreams clearly. My dreams had been slipping away. 3 mornings in, I’m recalling my dreams each morning.

    I do not like this sound "sa-ta-na-ma". Sounds like Satana in Russian, which is Satan. I would not able to meditate with this sound. I believe that languages are connected, and this coinsidence make me think of satanism.

  • @ashleylala4293
    @ashleylala4293 4 года назад

    Sa Ta Na Ma, you say? Hmmmm...that's a bit too close to Satan for my comfort level but I'm sure that's all purely coincidence...

    • @garysingh2847

      Sa ta na ma is actually expanded form of word "Satnaam" second word of Sikh Mool-Mantra or core principles - A definition of God if you like. See www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/zk3f3k7/revision/1 for more info. Hope that helps

      The individual syllables are attributed as:
      Sa - birth, beginning and the totality of the cosmos
      Ta - life, existence and creativity manifest
      Na - death and transformation
      Ma - rebirth, regeneration and consciously experiencing the joy of the Infinite

    • @sydney2therescue

      Sat means truth namm means name truth is my identity true name my true identity which is God which is infinite which is divine so when you say sat namm you were saying call forth that in me which is truth . .which is divine and sa ta na ma is the syllabic version of that word syllable vibrates with the guy said before me infinity life death rebirth nothing to do with Satan guy ] the same way when you hear about Santa Claus?
