Interesting. I have always been a fan of the small Honda 4 strokes. Particularly the 90s. I have owned several throughout the years. They are so practical and reliable for around town. I was surprised that the ones in Pakistan are 70s (not 90s). I thought you must have made a mistake. But No. They are indeed CD70s. Thanks for the interesting documentary on bikes in Pakistan. I love the way people customize them and the quirky Chinese taglines. Cheers from Canada. 🙂👍
In 1980s we had Rx 100 , rajdoot , royal Enfield, cd100 , yezdi , rd 350 which had 39 bhp power top speed of 150kmph so the Indian bike market was still better in 80s than 2020s in Pakistan.
So did we. We used to have kawasakis with top speeds upto 160kmh. Unfortunately Pakistani government banned them because robbers used them a lot so it became a cheap getaway motorbike.
But it easily pass 70 kmh with 3 people and 90+ for one person amd and give 60 km+ mileage on one liter , Their is other honda and Yamaha sporty look bikes but why to buy? Middle class People simply buy old mehran ,alto or cuore
My father used to rode this kind of Indian made bike in 1980s when he was in college and I can see how bike industry grow in India. Im proud owner of TVS Apache. I told one of my facebook pakistani friend that my bike engine is 150+ (when i had Bajaj Pulsar) and he was shocked to see my bike. For him, it was super bike.
Nice video, thanks a lot! I once tried to find all Pakistani manufacturers of CD 70 derivatives, besides the original Atlas Honda CD 70. Here is what I found, but for sure the list is not complete: United, Road Prince, Hi Speed, Metro, Power, Sohrab, Crown, Eagle Fire, Ravi, Habib, Ghani, ZXMCO, MS Jaguar, Union Star, Ride Star, New Asia, Galaxy, Fit Star, Unique, Super Power, Impress, Hero (Pakistan, not Hero India), DYL (ex Dawood Yamaha joint venture). Greetings from Germany, with great respect to those who build them and those who do their daily business with these bikes! There are also some videos on youtube of the small factories where they assemble the derivatives, e.g. at Metro, Galaxy, Ride Star or Hi Speed. Guaranteed without robots, and also without a torque spanner 🙂
In the UK I have an 18yr old Honda XR125 it costs nothing to run and has been tuned but still gives crazy high mpg. Love it. The CG engine is excellent just keep up the 2k oil changes.

These bikes are So good yes it was great if we had more options but Low horsepower motorcycles such as CD70 etc. are used in Pakistan, is Part of Pakistan's Fuel Saving Policy. CD70 is a suitable bike for Urban Areas in Pakistan, They do not fall heavily on the Pockets of the Common People and And they are also Beneficial for the Country's Economy, as is the low Consumption of Petrol. These motorcycles do not get Damaged quickly and if they do, their spare parts are easily available, they are also locally manufactured. Heavy bikes are also used in Pakistan, but the government does not encourage their use, nor is heavy bikes allowed to be manufactured in Pakistan. Imran Khan's government has now reduced taxes on imports of heavy bikes but imposed heavy tax on it due to Covid 19 Economic Crisis after a few months again. An Estimated CD70 saves Pakistan 1 billion dollars annually in Petrol Consumption.

Even if the trade wasn't in hold and bikes were to be imported cheaply from India it would really knock off Honda as they would lose market margin and honda would probably with the influence they have with the government stop the import of the bikes
Same thing happened with cars, Japanese cars were highly popular and one could even import a car as old as 6+ years and due to this honda,Toyota and Suzuki were losing the market so they had the government limit the import to only cars only 3 years older and increase taxes

These bikes were used by our grand dad in 1980s. But Pakistan still use these bikes in 2022. Pakistan really needs a lot of development.
An Estimated
CD70 saves Pakistan 1 billion dollars annually in Petrol Consumption.

125 is a beast there XD I feel kinda sad how we can't sell our bikes to them
It's not beast 125 is common. We had bennali Suzuki and Yamaha after Honda. And other were speed150
Yeah and anything exceeding 200 CC would cost a whopping 8 to 10 lacs. Simply agree that the motorbike industry in Pakistan sucks big time.
125 is common macho ride.. But you only have to Google some beast bikes of Pakistan to check the taste buds of bikers here.. 250cc is start and you see top of the line Suzuki, Kawasaki, Ducati and BMWs...
The best thing about them is their petrol consumption efficiency. A good Honda CD70 has an average of nearly 70km to 80km per litre. My Honda CG125 averages about 40km per litre. CG125 is the monaliza of bikes in Pakistan lol. So 6 to 7 litre petrol and you can travel for days.
