- I review the most popular motorcycle in Pakistan and its many clones. You can't miss Honda's red CD70 across Pakistan, it's absolutely everywhere. Outside malls they're parted in their hundreds! It's by far the most popular bike in Pakistan due to its reliability and price (Rs. 84,000, ₹40,000, $540).
After the Honda CD70's rise to fame, many Chinese clones began to flood the market. The Road Price CF70, Ravi RP70, and United US70 are just a few examples. They're about half the price of the original - released in 1984.
The Honda CD70 is a four-stroke motorcycle made by Honda of Japan from 1970 to 1991. In 1991, production moved to Atlas Honda in Pakistan. It features 72cc displacement, an 8.5L fuel tank, a dry weight of 82kg, a kick-start, and a 4-speed gearbox. Its top speed is 97 km/h. The CD70 retails for PKR 84,500.
The Honda CG125 is the big brother and costs PKR 154,900.

Honda CG125 is a good ride for North as its balanced in power and weight. Light bikes are much more maneuverable on dirt tracks. Especially if you are going to do various passes such as Babusar Top, Naltar Pass and Badawi Pass. I have seen CD70 go up to Khunjrab Pass (Pak-China Border) but you would have to stick to main paved roads. Suzuki GS150 is also a good choice and picking up in the touring community but it lacks the service support widely available for CD70 and CG125.

In 1980s we had Rx 100 , rajdoot , royal Enfield, cd100 , yezdi , rd 350 which had 39 bhp power top speed of 150kmph so the Indian bike market was still better in 80s than 2020s in Pakistan.
Even our TVS 50 can outclass these bikes

So did we. We used to have kawasakis with top speeds upto 160kmh. Unfortunately Pakistani government banned them because robbers used them a lot so it became a cheap getaway motorbike.

My dear these bikes are like bicycles in Pakistan. Every home has bunch of them. They are low maintenance and low fuel consumption. They serve the purpose of individual people mover. You don’t care if you loose them. Enfield will not sell in Pakistan. That is most stupid bike. It is inefficient.

I appreciate the generous use of metal especially for the fenders and that retro look - reminds me of Hero Honda CD100 that we used to get in India in early 1990s. And a sweet price tag to top it all. Looks more comfortable and rock solid than the current-gen Hero Splendor Plus - you can buy 2 of those for the price of 1 Splendor Plus. I love the Honda CG125 - it's their Honda Shine equivalent. Given the option to buy the Indian Honda Shine and Honda CG125, it is the CG125 for me for its simplicity, Honda engine and a carbureted engine - I so miss the carburetor with the arrival of BS6. Carbureted motorcycles were so easy to maintain and repair. Although we have a range of motorcycles from various local to international brands, respect to Pakistan and how people are happy and satisfied with what they have.
I live in Canada 🇨🇦.. anything we buy from China, lasts 6 days.

The CG125 is a classic, a 350cc version certainly would be, but the 125 does getting on for 100 mpg, quite torquey, and sounds good and a very nice looking bike and been around for maybe 50 years or more? Used to all over he place here in the UK

Yeah there is a ton of difference between them those chines bikes get bad after sometime and they are nonsense.
Spare parts are of same quality regardless of brand and country of origin but genuine parts of genuine Honda CD70 last longer.
Engine life span. Counterfeit needs a lot of repairs, a lot of care and are generally unreliable after 4 or so years.

Indian bike market was also similar to this in 1990-2000. We have to appreciate efforts of Bajaj who introduced Pulsar 150/180 in 2001 which really revolutionized Indian bike market. Also Bajaj brought Kawasaki/KTM in india in affordable range.
I suggest you Karl to test drive Dominar400 once. THe latest beast from Bajaj! (costs similar to your Royal enfield)

90s mein Cd100 aur RX100 hua karta tha. RE wasn't this popular and considered army bikes. Scooters shada chalte the. Then CBZ and Pulsar happened and changed the entire scenario

That Road Prince Hundo has been putting some work down and it shows it. Not sure how accurate the odometer is but over 65,000 km is quite an achievement for a sub $300 motorcycle.
That 65,000 is nothing people here keep this same 70 for decades and mostly without any maintenance even oil changes are extremely delayed they will just do what’s necessary for it to somewhat drive kinda shows how reliable the engines are in these bikes that’s why they are still sold here

So years back, me from UK on my brother's bike in Delhi. Law said helmets for both passages a must. Being India, back person can wear construction hat. My bro had proper one and offered me the construction one. Being embarrassed, I said give me your and you wear the construction hat.
He was hesitant but gave it anyway as I am elder. One way on the first trip we stopped and I said why people laughing....

Honda CD70 weights 82kgs, 70 or 72cc engine displacement it gives milage of 40 to 50 max. 125cc motorcycle in India gives 60 to 75km even 80km per liter milage without compromising power and every motorcycles weights 118kgs or above dry. I know Honda CD70 is old,light weight but its not fuel efficient or powerfull due to older technologies. I appreciate people taking good care of old motorcycles such as Honda CD70.

man! you don't know how amazing this cd70 bike is, it can go 70km/L and can carry 4 adult men effortlessly, yes it would have been great if we have more big bikes options but its a great bike for low income people.
These bikes were used by our grand dad in 1980s. But Pakistan still use these bikes in 2022. Pakistan really needs a lot of development.
These bikes are So good yes it was great if we had more options but Low horsepower motorcycles such as CD70 etc. are used in Pakistan, is Part of Pakistan's Fuel Saving Policy.
CD70 is a suitable bike for Urban Areas in Pakistan, They do not fall heavily on the Pockets of the Common People and And they are also Beneficial for the Country's Economy, as is the low Consumption of Petrol. These motorcycles do not get Damaged quickly and if they do, their spare parts are easily available, they are also locally manufactured.
Heavy bikes are also used in Pakistan, but the government does not encourage their use, nor is heavy bikes allowed to be manufactured in Pakistan. Imran Khan's government has now reduced taxes on imports of heavy bikes but imposed heavy tax on it due to Covid 19 Economic Crisis after a few months again.

Great video! I live in the USA and saw on the university campus what looked like a brand new Honda CG125. It was very clean had to be new. But I can't figure out how someone could purchase one here as they aren't for sale anywhere in the USA. Any idea?

We have multiple Indian brands - Royal Enfield , Hero motocorp , TVS , Bajaj (KTM) & Mahindra (Jawa). These r multinational Indian Two wheelers brands.. Even.. Honda Suzuki Yamaha BMW Kawasaki like other foreign brands have huge manufacturing Plants in India.
Note - India World largest Two wheelers manufacturer & exporter also✌️.
It's bad destiny for Pakistan. They have not enjoy world class & global standards Indian two wheelers.. and , China make huge profits in Pakistan. On the other hand , Chinese brands monopoly in Pakistani markets

It might be the most popular bike in Pakistan but there are alot of other bikes that people drive except CD 70 , CD 125 and 150 and these bikes are only drived in villages otherwise bikes like deluxe, Yamaha vbr z , Yamaha ybr g and electric bikes like teleport and alot of other bikes but except the few that I mentioned the rest are imported are way better

And we have one CD 100SS and that's 24 years old but still running fine 👍🏻❤️😀

Honda’s motor cycles are unbreakable . I bought mine in 2013 , whenever I visit Pakistan , I abuse it to the full extent :) , it never disappoints me . Only spent $20 in the last visit to tune it up . My uncle has 2003 model , it’s a beauty .

So it's Indicates how much you people need to improve yourself to stand next to India and it won't be possible unti unless the Young generation of Pakistan change there mindset and perception towards India and better work to develop Pakistan.
The CG125 it's also sold in Mexico as the CGL125 Tool, excellent bike, proud owner of a 2022 model 👍
We do have some variety of Bikes in Pakistan, you Have the Yamahas, Hondas, Suzuki etc.
They have upto 200cc bikes and other than that there are imported bikes also available on Pakwheels and olx.

I tried a Chinese cd70, or I think it was a pakistani made clone, as the cd70s are Japanese, I think it was called Super Star. It looked just like a cd70 but it was black. It was super fun to use.

I get mine serviced for 1000 INR including the oil change.

@@phpmastrphiser3501 but mine is way better equipped comes with a 180 cc motor. Looks way better and still going strong after 9 years without any major breakdowns. Except the consumables there is no maintainence cost as such. I haven’t spent more than ₹2000 over parts & service charge at a time.
Recently did a 700 km ride and it was cruising happily at 100 kmph.

My first bike here in UK back in 93' was a CG125, being 6ft 4" it was literally the only 125 that I could afford and fitted me at 17 ! Great bike, easy to fix (not that I had to), bullet proof, 80mpg.
