Jackie Kennedy definitely lived a good and very influential life, but I don’t think we can call it beautiful. JFK reportedly only married her for politics and didn’t truly love her. He had numerous extramarital affairs, allegedly told one of his mistresses that he was planning to leave his wife for her, witnessed a portion of his head being blown off in front of her, held pieces of his brain together, and lost their infant son a couple of months before. Her second marriage was mainly for financial security.
The most tragic deaths she experienced was her husband JFK, her stillborn daughter (I don’t know her name off the top of my head) and her son Patrick. Her voice is so calming and angelic
What is her accent? People don’t talk like this anymore unfortunately. I love listening to her talk.
Trans Atlantic accent, common among upper class folks and the well educated of the first half of the 20th century. It's elegant and timeless.
Watched this live on television. Should have been on film and in color. CBS could have afforded it.
I agree completely. Had CBS switched to color when JFK was still President like they should have, we'd be able to see color news coverage of his assassination and funeral.
Very few people had colors TVs at that point
I could listen to her narrate a drilling manual, her voice is so soft and yet so engaging
She had such grace.
She was just gorgeous
Mrs. John F Kennedy? Did she not have a name or what am I missing?
I wish i could watch this in its entirety
I found the entire broadcast on RUclips.
That style, man! That’s why both me & my daughter Isabella are really proud to have our birthdays celebrated in July- the same month with Mrs Kennedy! (BTW my daughter Isabella was born on July 4th 2010 and I was born on July 19th 1979)
Be careful providing dates of birth on the internet
This presidency was before my time, but I can tell this is what it should be like.
Jacqueline was elegant, graceful and amicable for being an icon of the ladies. Moreover she created the case for women In perusing independence and happiness. She presented incomparable courage and strength after the assassination ❤ she was long missing as a legendary figure ❤
This is x fabulous and fascinating⭐️✨⭐️
Please show the whole program!
Sophisticated history of White House,
Wow. Didn't know they had 16:9 screen ratio cameras back in '62!
Seriously...for something this historical, would it have been too hard to NOT post it stretched wide from 1:33?
Excellent.
Thank you for sharing this. This is a great insight into how intelligent Jacqueline was. Besides being fluent in multiple languages, she really understood and enjoyed history. I am a fan of hers because she has such style, she knew how to demonstrate her intelligence without being intimidated, and she came into her own after Ari Onassis’s death.
now, that's class!
Wish I saw this in color
When I saw it at the time it was filmed, we had black and white TV. I suppose they could spend time trying to colorize it but I think they wanted to be true to history and show the program as it aired.
@@charleneandrle-olson3099 but the fashion of Mrs. K is fascinating
CBS did not have color broadcasts until 1965.
Thank you Mrs, John F, Kennedy.
Too bad the background music is so loud and annoying!!!
Wonderful
Jacqueline Kennedy was young only 64 years old when she died
They were all too young… I just found out George Magazine is back they even got a website
Jimmy Carter was older than Jackie Kennedy so she would be 94 years old.
She should have been a museum curator.
Natalie Portman did such an amazing job portraying this fine lady.
Remember it well 🕊🇺🇲💕
I read that she smoked continuously off camera between takes the day of the taping and that the director kept asking her to speak up but she made it clear she was speaking as loudly as she could
Did she die from lung cancer in 94' 9:50 ?
@James Fracasse No as I understand it Non Hodgkins Lymphoma
@@williamkelly8026 thanks for the clarification on the subject and sadly just five years later John Jr died in a plane crash along with his wife and sister in law.
@James Fracasse sir thank you. Yes the family has had too many tragedies
@@williamkelly8026 again thanks for your insight on this,a happy memorial day weekend to you and your family, cheers 🥂 mate!
That voice. Easthampton; Park Avenue; Newport.
I learned a lot from this video, but Jackie Kennedy had understated class, not matched by any first lady since. Had JFK ran in 1964 election, she probably would have been responsible for votes more than any debate/advertising could have possibly done. Shame of course that never happened.
Really Love This ❤
