whoaa, you got to be the first on yt to feature the mach6! i'm kinda hyped about it, i loved the 4 and 5, not sure i need any major changes, but oh well, let's see.
I'm glad i didn''t wait for this. Retired the Mach 5 and switched to Endorphin speed 3. I hate having no padding on the tongue and Mach6 looks much narrower than the 5 (similar to mach x). Thanks for the review.
If you really loved the Mach 4 and 5, I think the next version of the Rincon (also getting a complete overhaul) will be your shoe rather than this new iteration of the Mach, which, like the Mach X, have the geometry of the Cliftons but with updated midsole materials ....
I like the Hoka geometry. I'm curious to hear about the durability though, which has often been a question with Hoka. My current go-to is the Hyperion Max, which seems quite the tank for such a light shoe after 150 miles. Why do I think I'm going to see that colorway on discount?
Looks a lot like the new Saucony ride 17 at this point, but with a lower drop. That mach 6 in the video looked like at least a size 13 or 14, so I'm led to believe that's actually a men's colorway ?! Is that color called "7 year old girl birthday party?" Or maybe "snicker Doodle cookie sprinkles" ? I thought the Asics novablast 4 Easter egg colorways were questionable, but Hoka has raised the bar here ! All kidding aside, looks like an interesting update, but the ride or Triumph look like better options.
Loved my Mach 5, until around 100 miles in when they completely bottomed out and lost their lovable bouncy cushion. I really hope they remedied this problem. Otherwise unfortunately I’m going to have to look elsewhere.
I had the 4s and I agree, they were great up until 100km.. after that they were never too bad but definitely lost pop springy feel. Great walking shoes afterwards though. Hopefully hoka have made better durability
I LOVE MY MACH 6. I got pretty bad shin splints trying out endorphin speed 3’s, the geometry of nylon plates is just not for me. The Mach 6 is super protective & cushioned & my shin splints are healing fine in them. Not so much with Revel v4 which i tested, unfortunately didn’t help my shin splints. Mach 6 for the win, unmatched bouncy, energetic & max cushioned shoe feel. Don’t believe the haters 🤷🏻♂️
I just got it in the wide summer season colorway to replace my noosa's. I am hoping I can keep the light feel with a bit more cushion for long runs. We will see, it is my first hoka shoe.
just ran a half a marathon in them! can’t say enough good things about them, holding up amazingly after 3 months and multiple washes in the washing machine, hope you like them :)
Just got out of the shoe store form trying both. They’re both advertised as having the same stability but Clifton felt more stable. However, it felt more stiff and bulkier, less cushiony. Mach 6 felt like walking on clouds, but less stable. I’d say Mach 6, for runners and all day walking/standing. And Clifton for training/gym.
Wish I had watched this review before ordering the Mach 6 as I think you have made some observations that have been lacking from other reviewers particularly in regards to how these shoes are not very stable.
I have regular width, but I don't like any of my first 2 Hoka shoes. Returned both my skywardx too heavy and bondi8-D. they're way too narrow at the toe ( need 2EE wide).. this match 6 looks tight at the forefoot which could be the problem with your toenails, bye bye. Hoka is well known for the cushions; they're top-notch for recovery/pace runs. Keeping all my triump21, speed 3, ride17.
Running novice here: I already have the clifton 8 and enjoying it. But as I start doing some interval sessions lately I feel that is a bit too soft and/or a bit unstable. Would the Mach 6 complement the clifton ? Also compared to the clifton 8, is this narrower? Thanks in advance
I have the Clifton 9 and find them to be clunky. My girlfriend uses the Mach 6. She has 100 miles on them now and feels that they lost almost all their cushion already.
what pace ranges are you referring to with "faster" and "slower" efforts? was about to get the Mach 6 but think I might just go for the Mach 5s now, have never owned Hoka's before
Been running in Asics size 6.5 and bought Clifton 9 size 6.5... and got blisters on 12km run :( my toes get jammed.. and I've got narrow feet.. so def not sure now?
Have the mach 6 stack height gone up by 8mm? Mach 5 was 24mm in the forefoot with a 5mm drop..... if thats the case, wont be buying them.... looks like Hoka have stuffed up an awesome shoe and have betrayed the Mach customers 😢 they have so many high stack shoes and the machs were supposed to be more nimble and lower to the ground. And no flex grooves, which gave it that natural movement with your feet..... they are no longer the machs. Goodbye Hoka.

Not sure why they made such a big change but we'll see what people think!

hmmm............ I loved both Mach 4 & 5 but based on your first review, it seems HOKA just screwed up the Mach branch TBH

I'm excited for this one but torn between the Mach 6 and the Rebel v4. They seem to be similar and don't need both.
Go with the Rebel imo
I tried both & preferred Mach 6, much better cushioning & energetic feel. Rebel v4 has more ground feel & is not as protective.

The Ride 17 is much heavier so I don't really put them in the same category! The bright pink is a mens colorway which is bold for sure.
Who doesn’t like cookie sprinkles? 😅 kinda like the old strawberry pop tart icing.

It sure looks like a Triumph now. Maybe a bit lighter and more nimble.

Narrower than Clifton and on top of that Mach 5 had quite stiff upper. Looks like a nightmare if not bought in wide.
You just need the right footshape for it although I can see what you mean
Forefoot on the mach still pretty narrow like all Hokas?;)
Feels like it for me although i've been trying a lot of Topos lately lol
I went a half size bigger. Perfect fit!!

I loved the Mach 5 as my go to shoe when I don't know what kind of run I'm going to be doing, is the Mach X the preferable option for me now?

I miss my Mach 5s need similar shoes to them
I am concerned with the tongue being so thin. Also, I wonder if it comes up high enough if using the last lace loop.
How does it compare to the NB rebel v4?
firmer and less cushion in my opinion
You can definitely see the narrower toe box in the mach 6. Mach 4&5 had better fit then the clifton 9 in the toe box for myself.

Hello brother..i am flat feet n supination..u suggest hoka arahi 6 or gaviota 5 for daily traning below 10k...
Hoka Cielo Road has a full PEBA midsole
Great point, forgot about that one
Will it come in a wide fit?
Insightful!
how's the fit of Mach 6 compared to Mach 5?
What colour is this clifton white or grey ?
Have 2 Mach 5, 1 Mach 4, conclusion yeah or neah? Seemed neah?
It’s like a barebones version of Mach x.
Hello i am from india and i really need a running shoes please help me for buying a running shoes or give me your old running shoes

Hoka kinvara 1
the clifton is such a weird shoe, too clunky and not fast at all. the mach 6 is the only decent shoe hoka has created
😞
wow its really ugly
