If you’re thinking about it getting the duodenal switch I highly recommend it.
I had my surgery July 8th 2022, which I consider my new birthday. And since July 8th I’ve lost a total of 105 pounds. the amount of energy I have is amazing. I feel like a new man wish I did it years ago. Thank you Dr. Young Kwon of Fayetteville, Arkansas Roller Weight Loss & Advanced Surgery for giving my life back.
I have a long way to go.
    Hallway there…
    My goal weight is 177.
    My start weight was 396.
    My current weight is 291.
Feels so good being out of the 300s.

Timothy, thank you so much for sharing this! My husband will have the duodenal switch next month. His weight was 396 at the start of the process. He’s down to 370. We’re all excited about this. Thank you so much for sharing your story. There’s not much updated information out about it right now. I hope your journey keeps getting better and better!

This illustration appears to be the SADI or LOOP DS illustrated, why is that not mentioned vs Traditional BPD DS ? I believe this confuses the two.

Can you have the duodenal switch years after a reg VSG? I'm struggling to maintain the last 25 or so lbs of my goal. I had my surgery postmenopausal. I'm 59 now and back up to 175lbs at 5'8". I had sever diabetes and for years my A1C was in the 5s. Now it's creeped up to mid 6s and I'm in kidney failure. I've been off all meds for years, I imagine metformin may help control both, but because my A1C only went up to 6.5 my doc won't prescribe it. I'm frustrated! I believe it could help me lose a few lbs and lower my A1C.
