Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

I love that cat in the orange collage, because it is in a similar comic like style as the old tv. I think it ties everything together. So cute!

When I clean the kitchen, I get weird sci-fi instructions for where each plate and bowl goes, according to color. It is really nice to reflect on all of life with your artwork because it really ties the work I do together!

Hi, new subscriber here. It looks as if you missed a couple of weeks so I'm a little relieved to see you back. I think my favorite part of this series is the fact they work so well together. If I were thinking of buying it, I wouldn't have to decide if it was worth buying the whole set when I really only loved 3 of them. Collage is fairly new for me. Your channel is a step or 2 above what I have been seeing. I am enjoying it very much.

When you display the R rainbow you might put them in the correct order it goes Roy G. Biv red orange, yellow blue indigo Violet. That way you’ll be correct as a rainbow. Great job I love the whole idea sorry to be pandemic but I am a teacher and I was always always stealing my students the correct order of the rainbow which is the color spectrum sorry.
What type of background paper do you use for these lovely visions? Is it just printer paper or a cardstock?

One giraffe vs. the completion of the cranking of hte wheel of color. Thank goodnes the purple uplifted the blue to keep the red head on into the yellow into the orange (Y->r->O)

You know what's interesting about these color properties, Newton's laws inserted into the Mother Nature.... It's common in some very high level artwork used in folklore and mythology
Newton's laws are all about things moving and causing movements with other things, including inverse movements, and development of basis/elemental understanding of nature -- like the Nat Geo's.
It's a perfect day to stroll through some art, so I'm going to cruise down the comments list and gather some opinions.
I am so thrilled by the super formulaic focus here; it cheers me up to pull and extract those colors right out fo nature.

Hello to Rosie or anyone reading this- I'd like to know if anyone could recommend some collage channels similar to Rosie's style? I recently started to enjoy this type of collaging but I have no other sources of inspiration. If anyone has a recommendation please get in touch with me. Also, what should I search for to find channels similar to this? When I search I see a lot more "gluebook" style collages.

You know, I just have my feelings. I needed to take some time away from for reasons that I believe would be reasonable to you, but it is too hard to communicate. I took a path that was laid out to me because it was allowed. I believe I have lost my understanding of you. It happens to everybody sometimes. It never happens to me because it is my condition for existence. I tend to miss the point so much so that I sweep all love under the rug. I have so many words that want to be heard by you, but I forget myself (not my heart) when I do things impossible so much that others shy away.

It is requisite that I find a different tone (color) to communicate because I am unwilling to go forward with the energy that I have so far put in, God only knows why. I was riding the bus to church on Sunday - it was the last day that I hope to go to church in a while. Your relationship with me is bound in the principles of prayer. We have tested each other for faith, grace, and mercy. I want to hold onto you, but I find myself with so many reasons to touch the pieces that I have been unable to touch until you came. I have so little hope inside myself, for all the years I have rested on it to keep me alive. You are a source of something good (yes, hope.)

"Indigo" is only in the rainbow because Sir Isaac Newton had a thing about the number seven. He was heavily into alchemy... So, yes, it does not fit in with the actual spectrum (and would totally mess up the color wheel if you tried to introduce it.) So, yes, skip indigo, now and always.
