As a father myself I want to say the time spent with your dad is something he’ll cherish and I respect you highly for that. The NC 105 is a beautiful area to visit and maybe on your next adventure you should try the Georgia Traverse or the KAT, Kentucky Adventure Trail, both in which my wife and I have done. From us here in North Georgia, awesome video young man, and God bless you and your dad.
I am extremely blessed to share the same passions as my father and spend time out on the trail with him. I will have to check out those trails, that sounds awesome!
Thanks mate, this content took me straight back to touring trips with my Dad in a 70's series Cruiser through Tassie & the Southern Coast of WA here home in Australia. Spending time with the old man out bush admiring nature in your own backyard is memories that you'll cherish forever. God bless you both, hope you enjoy many more father / son trips together. I envy what you have, I'd give anything to have just one more trip with my Dad exploring the wilds of Australia. Love the content, brilliantly narrated and shot
props to your dad for spending this special time with you and being so patient while you film it. as a 1 man film crew, I know how much effort is done to get these shots. great job and thank you for sharing.
Glad you gentlemen enjoyed our little slice of Heaven in Tennessee. I've been from Bar Harbor to Seattle and from San Diego to Key West but I always love coming home to the Smokies.
Having hiked sections of the AT in that area, I was unaware of the many overlanding trails. Great video. If you get a chance, check out Crabtree Falls, VA. There’s an access trail that you can take up the mountain to the top of the falls. The trail has several campsites. If you go past the falls, there are more campsites and the fresh water stream that feeds into the falls. About two miles past the top of the falls you can access the AT. We camped at a site at the top for 3 days. We hiked the fall, and went one way on the AT to The Priest lookout one day and then to Snipers Nest in the opposite direction the last day. Great video!
The Mower Basin area or “Mine-tana” is a hidden gem. Fantastic mtb trails throughout as well as close proximity to Guadineer Scenic area, Snowshoe, Shavers Fork, etc. Looks like a rad trip!
Awesome content! In new years 2020 me and my dad flew to North Carolina purchased a dump truck and we drove it back to California. One of the places that caught my attention was the Appalachian mountains. I wish to explore it one of these days in my FJ and seeing your video I can’t wait. Thank you for the awesome content
Man I wish I could get my dad out on the trails with me he has an old lifted tundra and I have a Tacoma and it would be awesome to do a father son trip like you guys! One day I’ll convince him to come out with me lol.
@@OutboundIntent haha for sure he bought this ridiculous opus camper and it just takes up space in his garage I told him time for a guys trip to test that bad boy out!
THANK YOU--- I LIVE in Appalachia--- and didn't get to get out and enjoy it this year... and the 4 years prior were NON-color days-- everything went directly to brown around here.. GREAT VIEO.
The view from the drone capturing the Linville Gorge, Table Rock and Hawksbill mountain is just something else.. Glad you guys made it down here to NC!
Awesome content. Was wondering if you could make a video how you installed a diesel heater in your FJ and the Roof tent to the factory rack. Keep up the great content
This is awesome. Would love to see a list/map of the places you went. I have an FJ and live in Virginia, so I'd love to check some of these spots out. Thanks!
Awesome video. I really loved it. The linville gorge is one of my favorite places to go exploring. Where was your location around the 13 min mark of this video? Thanks for sharing!!
Hey man, awesome video. Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of the area you were in in the beginning of the video? You mentioned lower basin West Virginia but I am not finding anything. I’m from ky and been looking for awesome trails like these. Thanks!
Amazing content! QQ: Planning to get Uronman Foamcell 2" lift with some BFG or Falken/Yokohama 285/70/17. I've been told these are LT tires and would impact the transmission/gearbox in the long-term since they are heavier tires - been told to change the gear ratio. Did you have do that or face any problems?
Hey love the rig and your content, I’m from Virginia and new to overlanding. What’s the trail in the West Virginia part of your trip? I would like to check it out
So that area is called the mower basin in monongahela National Forest. If you check out my last solo trip video with my Subaru Baja you will see that area in detail! Thanks for watching 👊🏼
Honestly forget the company... but I wouldn't recommend cheap headlights haha. The pattern is whack and the halps are going out. I just ordered some Freedom Outfitters V4 headlights which are similar but higher quality💪🏼
Do you have a resource (link for maps / info ) for that detour in WV? I also spend a lot of time in Maine and have close friends in WV. That would put me within striking distance of a visit. Feel free to email it as sell if you dont want to blast it out. 😊
If you ever find yourself in Northeast Georgia (the Southern Appalachian Mountains), feel free to reach out and I’ll show you some of the most beautiful hidden dispersed sites.

The fact that you and your dad can make these trips is awesome. Cheers!
Yeah man it's been a blessing to get out and explore 👊
Beautiful! I appreciate the no nonsense and calm, pure video material. Please keep making these videos in the same style.
Thank you! Will definitely be doing! Launching one later today and then in 1-2 months
I don't see many foliage overland videos here on RUclips, so this was a treat!
Hey glad you found it 👊
Toyota off roading, clever channel name, high production quality video. Subscribed! Nice work!
Thanks man! More to come
This is a banger. What a place to overland! Stunning production as always
Thanks Gatewood! This was an epic trip with cool views I didn't expect to see 💪🏼
Great video! It's cool to see a father/son duo. It's also awesome to see Linville Gorge get some love. That's one of my favorite places in the world.
Thanks you! It is quite an amazing place, I definitely will have to come back.

True that! I am thankful he is patient with the filming part, it definitely takes a lot of time!
13:10 I've driven up there in a 96 Outback! One of the most beautiful views I've seen in the Smokies! Wait until you see it in the snow!
Glad you gentlemen enjoyed our little slice of Heaven in Tennessee. I've been from Bar Harbor to Seattle and from San Diego to Key West but I always love coming home to the Smokies.

Thanks for clarifying. I heard "Lower Basin" and was really confused.😂

Man that would be sick! Plan a trip with cool views and tell him he has no choice haha. I’m very blessed to have a father with the same passions as I
@@OutboundIntent haha for sure he bought this ridiculous opus camper and it just takes up space in his garage I told him time for a guys trip to test that bad boy out!

It really is! You are fortunate to live so close
The view from the drone capturing the Linville Gorge, Table Rock and Hawksbill mountain is just something else..

This was really a great episode. Your FJ cruiser is awesome 👍😎
Great video, A lot of us really don’t need the background music we rather hear nature and the rig. Seriously.
This is a great trip documentary! You inspire me to use my RTT more.
Looked like an awesome trip
Sure was!
Awesome content. Was wondering if you could make a video how you installed a diesel heater in your FJ and the Roof tent to the factory rack. Keep up the great content
Thank you! So I do not have a diesel heater installed but hopefully eventually! I am hoping to get a new rack by spring
This is awesome. Would love to see a list/map of the places you went. I have an FJ and live in Virginia, so I'd love to check some of these spots out. Thanks!

The first fire tower in TN you can see from my house. Had a buddy drive his daily driver 2006 Honda Civic to the top.
Great storytelling!!So an amazing place to overland or adventure!! I love your video so much! Could you shoot a video for our brand?
These memories will last a lifetime, if you/he doesn't mind me asking, how old is your dad?
Agreed man, I value these times greatly. He is in his mid 50s
Thanks for sharing. What camp chairs are you using?
Hey man, awesome video. Was wondering if you could point me in the right direction of the area you were in in the beginning of the video? You mentioned lower basin West Virginia but I am not finding anything. I’m from ky and been looking for awesome trails like these. Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Search for the Mower Basin in Monongahela NF and you should find it

Your car looks really good at gravel roads.
Why thank you good sir
Great video. How has the OEM rack handle the RTT and Awning on highway speeds? Wanted to mount my RTT to my OEM rack but was recommended not

What did he use to start the fire at 4:16?
It's a little handheld butane torch, they come in handy!
Hey ! Do you have website with specs on your FJ? Curious your Lift/tires specs and details etc… thanks !
What part of PA are you from? Maybe we can meet up for a trip sometime.
Is there any way we could get your route?

Color is called Quicksand, definitely one of my favorites 👊
Hey do you live in NC by chance?

Would love to hit that area!
What area of West Virginia was that? 👀
Mower Basin in Monongahela NF 👊
What trail system in WV is that?
I’m also trying to find out.
Why do yall not use radios to communicate
Usually do when we are in different vehicles, didn’t bring them this time because we were in one. Would’ve been nice though for spotting
Hello my friend, what is the camera used to take the video please + Can I contact you through social media sites or something similar?
I used a Canon R6 to record 💪🏼 hit me up on my instagram (@outboundintent)
My man- teach me to color grade. I’m so bad at it. Haha
Hey me too, I am still learning haha
@@OutboundIntent i really like your grade you did on this video. Super made me miss WV and makes me wish I’d appreciated the colors more.
