"I gave myself permission to go to Guadalajara for 30 days"...yes the permission to seek and find joy and focus 100% on her happiness. Fabulous!

I was 20, when I first visited Mexico. I speak Spanish as a second language. I keep audio, written and video journals. Great advice. My career was computers and teaching English to Spanish speakers. I have traveled all my life on vacations and in retirement. Life has its ups and downs, but no one can ride your back, unless you bend over.

She is beautiful and amazing. I hopped over to her RUclips channel and subscribed. I’m 62. I can retire in 12 months 17 days (but who’s counting 😉). I planned to keep working to increase my state government pension, and then retire on Texas Gulf Coast where I was raised, but the real estate boom has made that impossible. I’m ready to live the life about which I’ve been dreaming since I started working at age 14.
Step 1: change my language to “give myself permission” and “pivot.” Her declarations over her life landed in my heart. I’ve been scoping her area of Mexico, but I was concerned about being able to easily fly back to Texas to visit family. I’m going to give Baja California Sur a serious look. Thank you so much. Your interview questions were great.

Thank you so much for watching. Its sad to hear that more and more places in the US are becoming out of reach for many people looking to retire affordably. México is a huge country. I am sure you find a spot that suits your needs. Many cities are short air distance to Texas.

This is a great interview and very informative. I moved abroad to Belize in 2018-2019 and had to move back to the states when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Now that she’s cancer free, I went back to Belize for a visit last week and I’m now preparing to move back. Living abroad and leaving the corporate rat race is freedom for me.
Congratulations on your success Beverly! I’m originally from Chicago too. 🌹

My husband and I are a black couple in our 70s. We want to move to Merida. But are concerned about the financial requirements. Our social security is $2,500 a month. We plan to sell our house and may get $100,00-$200,000 for the sale. Can we qualify or permanent residency.
