- These small fuel sippers seem like they're temporarily gonna get a bit expensive as fuel prices go up! We shall see. This 2007 Honda Fit would do a great job at it.

Let me start by saying I’m 6’1 and weigh 300lbs and this car is a dream. I own a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a 6.6 engine and I recently purchased a 2008 Honda Fit Sport 5 speed with 118k miles as my commute vehicle. The car still runs and drives excellent at 14 years old. The car is perfect to drive and gets more than double the gas mileage of my truck. The 25 mile round trip to work everyday makes my pockets smile now. I literally go two weeks on a tank of gas. Where a full tank of gas in my Silverado would cost me $120 to fill up (36 gallons) my fit will only cost me $33 on this 10 gallon tank. By the way I got it used from a private seller for $2,500. Honda nailed it with this little giant.
being 6’3” i can agree the fit has insane amounts of room for how tall i am and even getting in and out it isn’t hard or anything
Yup. 6'7/315 here and I've daily driven my '08 5M Fit for over a decade. Could not be happier with it. For what it's worth, try running premium fuel in it. It's worth a few extra HP & TQ. Not a giant difference, but noticable!
@@jamesborek8125 ok thanks
basically u just get free car with all fuel saving ...
Im 6'5 260 lbs and was wondering if i could squeeze into this thing or go for a civic/accord
Daily Driver. 42.5 mpg. Cant beat that
Still have our 2007 manual Fit and still love it. I’m 6’4” and I fit. Everything fits in the Fit and the Fit fits everywhere. We recently bought an Outback and it’s roomier and more comfortable on those long drives, but the the simplicity of the Fit is more relaxing than the frustrating touchscreen and constant beeping of the Outback. The Fit is a great car and under-appreciated. Thanks for the review.
I own a 2008 Fit myself. I have plenty of headspace as a 6’ man but I honestly wish Honda gave the little jug just a tad few inches of legroom and it would be a dream.
Definitely NOT under-appreciated! I LOVE this car and it's been 15+ years and still feels new even with almost 250k miles. I'm so bummed Honda discontinued it in the U.S. The Fit fits everything plus some. I'm not 6'4", so that may be a bit more challenging for comfort to sleep in it, but at 5' 6" I sleep so comfortably in it and have camped in it with others who are taller, not quite 6'4". :) Plus - parking is easy. It just fits!
So well summed up. The Fit fits everything and fits everywhere. Fun to drive too. Complete blast
I first looked at the Fit in 2007, and finally bought one in 2019.
Such a great car, and they kept doing it right even in the 3rd gen. (My clutch is softer, less notchy, but still nice.)
Here's to another decade on the road!
Edit to add Yes, it just "Fits!"
Ngl one of my favorite cars on Gran Turismo 4! Especially the Spoon version!
Yes!! Ahh the nostalgia haha
Just bought N "08 with 96K miles, a 1 owner, and been looking for a 5 sp manual one for 3+ years. I am on cloud nine at 71 (@@)! Great review!
Nice!! Thank you, cheers!
Here in the UK this car was called the Honda Jazz. It was seen as an old ladies car though. Small cars are popular in the UK because of our overpriced fuel and small roads.
Haha I remember watching the clips from Top Gear and May’s mother
@@BernonCars oh yeah 😂
It's rumoured to run on 'elder'berry wine .
I was the first one to get the 2007 fit at the dealer in my town when it arrived. I loved them from travels abroad. I had another car at the time, to date this is my favorite car I ever owned. Automatic white Sport with paddle shifters. I should have kept it.
Nice!! Good little cars
I have a 1.4 i-dsi manual since 2005 ,is a great little car
I have a red 07 honda fit automatic. dude. its so fun. I do wish it was a manual, but the fact that I was able to find one around me in the first place was a miracle. 9/10 car. my only complaint is that its not fast enough :)
Hahaha they definitely need some more speed 😂
Is a whole different story with the manual is super. Fun to drive & 30+ miles to a gallon can get better than that.
automatic with paddle shifters is equally as fun hehe
I got my 2002 Fit just a weeks ago and it's impressive
- Zambia Ku Chalo.
I got me a 2007 Honda Jazz and I'm jamming :)
I still have a dealers first red honda fit sport. It has 103 thousand miles and it runs great. I put next bigger tires (m defenders) and it is much smoother ride. It is a 5 speed stick shift.
Nice!
Jumping from 2005 Toyota 4runner V6 was quite a drastic change. Yes, I can't go anywhere, but as I do 95% of my mileage on asphalt, I'm having so much fun in my 2007 1.2 iDSI manual Jazz on winding roads and some easy touges with friends, most importantly for 1/3 price on fuel, nothing on maintenance compared with my ex Toyota 4wd. My only wish would be this 1.5 vtec engine from Fit for a bit of extra juice. Just put some lowering springs, or coilovers, 15" wheels with 195 tires, oem sport bodykit and you're no longer in a grandmothers car which handle corners pretty amazing. Greetings from Northern Europe, Vilnius.
Wow, you're right, they should have made a Fit SI! That would have been awesome.
would have been redundant consider the 03-05 si looks just like it
Intelegent folks own and drive Fits. That is why there where so few sold in the USA.
Unfortunately! Wish they continued it
This car is pretty cool, I like what Honda did with the rear seats. It reminds me a bit of the Chevy avalanche. Another great video man keep it up!
It’s a pretty nifty little car indeed. Thank you sir!
I looked up for a Jazz as second car for camping and just daily driving since 3 months cause of its gorgeous variability for its size. I bought one last week (1.4 LS, german spec) and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a grounded and simple car with enough comfort and reliability and cozy to drive.
Greetings from 🇩🇪
Nice! They're such good cars
What a great choice for camping. With a few modifications, it's like a tiny Westfalia van.
I've been getting 44 mpg when I drive mostly highway which is very good. My combined driving is around 37-38 mpg which is great. It runs like a champ!
Damnnn sweet!!
I'm still driving the 5-speed manual shift grey Honda Fit sport that I bought in April 2007--the same car featured in this video. Best car I ever owned. No mechanical problems at all until the air conditioner failed in spring 2023. I ordered a 2024 Chevy Trax, waited four months for it to arrive, and finally cancelled the order. I don't want to pay $2000 to replace the air conditioner in my Fit, so, at some point, I'll get a new car, but not just yet.
Nice, yeah as long as it runs, LOL
Ill buy it how much
Glad to see so many taller drivers like this car, great review.
Yeah! Thank you!
Had one of these for a bit loved it (Sport w/ sunroof CVT which wasn’t bad and it was in a midnight purple like colour) unfortunately I got caught in a storm and rolled it, but hey it protected me and I ended up getting a CRZ but always will have a place in my heart for the Jazz/Fit
They're solid little things!
I love this man. You did such a great job on the video.
Thank you!
bought a 1.4 base model jazz in the uk for my first car, honestly the first few drives were phenomenal, until i tried to do a valve clearance job on it, quite simple, but did it wrong for the first time and the second time i did it, i fixed it! and now im excited to drive it again!
This was well done, and you did your research. Nice video!
Thank you!!
Own an Honda Fit 2006, manual...best car I have ever driven, provided I take care of the regular checkups it has never let me down.
Not to mention the fuel efficiency, I pull 600 km out of a 35 litres fuel tank. It is the best car..!
Great little things!
Just got a 2008 Fit 5-speed manual for 1500. Best money i ever spent
That's great!!
What mileage? Thats a crazy deal
What, how many miles
Love your videos!, keep up the good work
Thank you!
In different markets and in new models they do make an SI. I love this Jazz and all following models. Such good value for money
Hmm good to know!
I have a very early third generation (bought in 2014, but 2015 model year). It is a 6 speed manual, silver lx. Love it, more horsepower than the earlier versions, a bit more tech. I love it and will drive it until it dies, although I might go first 🤣.
Hahaha cheers!
"Can of fix a flat and hopes and prayers" hahahaha so true
Good trucks!!
Love that
Love your videos
Thank you!
The Karna Mobile. Great review. Lot's of good info.
Ha indeed! Thank you Ben 😄
Great video
Thanks!
Nice! This could be the best fit daily front end looks similar to the 7th gen accord.
Ahh thats true! I find it interesting how all of these 2000’s Honda’s have similar faces
My honda jazz make 68 Mpg in flat motorway driving in less of 3000 RPM less of 60 Mph. Driving like a great grand mum LoL
rly well made video
Thank you!
Good review
Thank you!
40 mpg sure helps these days
Ohh absolutely haha
I have a 1.5 VTEC manual since 2007,the 1 gen FIT is pretty good ,from china.
Good Review - I'm leaning towards a used Yaris, but reviews like this are starting to shift me towards a Fit. Need a reliable decent MPG car, I've owned mostly Toyotas, but I'm liking this fit, problem is, everything is expensive right now with the Fits running at least $1k more than the Yaris. But I do have my eye on a Fit that I'll check out. Thanks
Thank you! The Fit is definitely more fun to drive than a Yaris, that’s one thing
Very late reply, but I bet you found why the Fit costs more. I drove a Yaris once and it was fine. I was keenly aware what a small thin car it was. The Fit is also small, but it feels more...confident, somehow.
I managed to find a one owner '08 w/ 128K miles. Looking to learn stick on it. The main appeal to me is it's size. Nothing ive driven has felt quite like my 99 civic. Hell, even the newer ones don't hold a candle to it.
Oh wow nice! Yeah you'll like the Fit!
Nice car looks fun, camping mode is gonna break my back tho
LMAO back strainer
There's a lot you can do with the interior. Look at some of the things HondaFit4Adventure has done.
I got the base model around this time last year 😐... I tried to live with it as it was but man... You will miss keyless entry for everyday use and cruise control for long road trips. I started to see the sport model around and they looked great and complete. I'm actually hunting down parts to make it look like it 😅. I love my Fit tho 😊
Haha we love what we have thats for sure
Thanks
I learned on my stick on my 08 fit lol
2nd gen 2011 5MT and if you rev it like in the vid you can reasonably expect 28 or so mpg. Maybe 32 or so Highway spirited driving.
I wanna review a second gen! So fun to drive
There’s a 1.3 l IDSI engine.
On transmission options, we have CVT in the Japanese market.
The main competitor of the fit outside north america is the suzuki swift, I'm planning to get either of them as a first car
I experienced a Swift 20 years ago, and it's the most flimsy car I ever saw. We'd push it up a snowy driveway and left handprints in the rear hatch. (You could count the fingers!)
I hope newer Swifts are better, but the Fit will not disappoint. Unfortunately for you, Fits hold their prices for a long time.
I'm currently in the market for one, trying to decide between the 1st gen or 2nd gen Sport 5MT models. I passed up on the chance to get one a few years ago, but now I'm definitely going to make a purchase soon. Have you had a chance to test out the 2nd gen, and if so, what are your thoughts? Thank you for the review 😁
I’ve tried both! I quite like the 2nd Gen more! More room, feels more solid and I appreciate the modern feel of it
@BernonCars Thank you for your response! Ultimately, I'm going to have to track down 2 manual Fits to test drive, but I'm also leaning more towards the 2nd gen. I really like the look of the 1st gen, but the tilt-only wheel may prove to be a problem.
I have a 2012 standard Fit and have never gotten the mileage everyone else claims they get. Why is that, I wonder? I call it my Flintstone's car because if I have to brake suddenly, it seems I can feel the ground under the car, it's so low slung. Not a fan. I wish I had bought a Ford Fiesta like my brother suggested.
I've been on this rabbit hole of Honda Fit propaganda and I will have to dig deeper.
Perhaps the hybrid version could be my next purchase...
where did you get your rer, front and side skirts?? please help
they should've made the 1.5 with performance vtec or even DOHC with performance vtec if they were to make an si version
Right!
K20 swap!!
interesting, i have a aux port on my base model fit
i have a 2009 honda fit , but i see this model 2007 its more nice shape than the 2009 honda fit
My 2007 fit stutters when going from 1st gear to 2nd and check engine light comes on and stays there for a week or so then goes away.... any clues?
Check your valve clearance
Find out what code is stored when that light comes on. Some auto parts stores let you borrow an OBD-II reader, or you can buy a basic one for not a lot of money.
The code won't diagnose the problem, but you'll know where to start looking and might learn of something that you can fix before it gets expensive.
Going to see a 2004 Honda Jazz (Fit) 1.2 DSI Sport for 4k here in Portugal, if everything is fine I think I'll be more then happy to own a JazzeR (the name I'll be giving th little guy) o7
Bough it, I'm so happy
I-vtec, which have normal and economy lobes, not like the real VTEC (Civic si) who has normal and performance lobe on the shaft
I’d love to ask Honda: *WHY DID YOU DISCONTINUE THE FIT?!?!*
In philippines we still have honda jazz 2023.if you see honda fit here its obviously imported from japan.
loot at the prices now hahaha
MATE I GET 60 ON M ROADS AND 49 ON NORMAL ROADS
bro I am looking at these, 5 speed manual of course would be fun daily !
have an 06 civic coupe now but it has a tiny trunk & backseat ;) no fun with the girls back there...
Bomb ass daily!
My fit gd not have cruise contro.
I want to know fit gd in usa. use wire paddle or use eletronic paddle ?
Becaus My fit gd use wire paddle.
and my country use low technology no have immobilizer key no chime soud for door open and seatblet.
I hate my country becaus honda fit gd manufacture and assembly in my country and exported in many countries, but i use low tecnology in my car.
I don't know the answer to your question, but want to say that I chose the basic model for my Fit.
It will be easier and cheaper to maintain than the fancy technology. Mine was built in Mexico and is very well made.
i drive for doordash in my 2007 honda fit and them seats suck for long periods of driving lmmfao at least for a fat guy they do =P oh and the sun beats down on the face of the radio and burns the screen out.
At least it's a money maker!
@@BernonCars it does help i got the car for free. it was willed to me when my mom passed in 2021
"It feels like....." and go. Leave some comments
Honda be smart and bring it back with the element. U currently need a $25k max car, and u don't.
My money will be going to kia if ur prices are the same. 09 fit and 19 civic owner
YANG BENAR ITU NAMA NYA BUKAN HONDA FIT TAPI HONDA JAZZ YANG BETUL OM
Man....... could they not have washed the car before shooting the video?
That was unfortunately the compromised clear bra
