Throughout the years there have been a lot mario games like super mario world, super mario 64, super mario sunshine, new super mario bros, new super mario galaxy, super mario 3d land, super mario 3d world, super mario run, super mario bros 3 and not too long ago they released the new super Mario odyssey for the nintendo switch which has all kinds of new characters like cappy and locations like the sand kingdom, new donk city and bowsers kingdom. In these games we have seen power ups like the fire flower, ice flower, super mushroom, mega mushroom, super star, hammer suit, spring mushroom and way more. But there were power ups that helped mario, luigi, toad, princess peach, rosalina and the others to escape bowser, the broodals, koopalings and bowser jr. The track is already scary enough, an abandoned castle in an ENDLESS pool of lava, whose poor souls who tried to escape, drowned in the lava pool, now sing the main theme of this track.

I would love to play as a thwomp to kill my opponents by squishing them with a “UURGHH!”
The version of the rumor I heard was much simpler. Just find a switch behind one of the bushes and drive into it. After that, go back to the cage and watch it open. The source also claimed this worked on the MKWii version of the track too, letting you play as Marty once again. I tested it on MKWii only to find out that it was fake. I honestly wasn't that surprised or disappointed, since it was easy to do and I already doubted that they'd hide one specific character so weirdly.
Yeah there are always a million ways to do it, but i tend to stick to the first ones or interesting ones

I wonder what the world would be like today if Kamek wasn't replaced by Donkey Kong in _Mario Kart 64_ - I feel like in another universe, this change alone drastically altered history in ways that we could not even possibly fathom. 🤔

Man, I remember when you first started uploading all those years ago. Rediscovering you now and seeing how far you've come since then is amazing.
I don't really know why many people haven't realized that the Thwomp got its green coloring thanks to the yellow lighting. I mean, one can clearly see the entire cell is a lot yellower than the rest of Bowser's Castle despite using the same walls and floors. You can't tell me the blue-and-white checkered floor would be suddenly colored yellow and gray, or the dark gray bricks are suddenly mustard yellow now.
If nothing else, I think the Mario Kart Wii version makes it even clearer that the Thwomp isn't supposed to be green, much thanks to the better lighting effects that were possible on the Wii now. The prison cell is still lit from inside, but not only is it a much lighter shade of yellow, but the yellow doesn't recolor everything inside it either: it only makes it look lighter, something that light is supposed to do.

Quite a shock that people would still talk about this today. The only thing really of note with that thwomp is that if you run into the bars he finds it funny and he laughs like the other regular Thwomps do

@@Anaklusmos42 Most likely technological limitations of the N64 - the gray pointy square version probably required too many polygons to render properly so they had to simplify the design to use fewer polygons.

Man I’m surprised Marty wasn’t atleast an Easter egg in bowsers castle in some later games, hopefully 8 deluxe wave 2 will bring back N64 bowsers castle with Marty!

There was also a Mario kart 64 hoax that people believed to be true, including me. It was either online, or a magazine where it shows that you go to the Princess Peach castle on Royal Raceway as Mario with a mushroom. When you blasted at the doors, you would be in Princess Peach castle just as if you are playing Mario 64. I tested it as a kid and failed...a lot. Learning about the limitations of a 64 cartridge as an adult, I laugh at myself for ever believing the hoax in my first place. 😂

Marty holds the source code to Mario Kart 64. That is why Bowser has him locked up, to keep the powers of Marty to himself, away from all others. It’s also why Dr. Wily couldn’t find any information about Marty’s freedom… only Marty knows how Marty can be freed.
Dr. Wily should do gameplay videos, I would like to see him and his friends bringing their Gamecubes and connecting them to play the ULTIMATE round of Mario Kart Double Dash!!

1:42 Actually, mini-turbos were in Super Mario Kart as well, however there was no indication to whether you got them or not so they were hard to notice. They're most noticeable if you either have 5 coins or less in a race, or if you're playing in time trial mode, because in those instances you can hear the kart's engine briefly rev up whenever you successfully pull off a mini-turbo.
The variation I heard had him attacking all karts one by one upon release, except the player that released him. I don't remember the conditions though.
I always wondered why Marty was trapped behind bars as a kid...

With Mario Kart being in 3D and the tracks filling the whole screen made this an instant classic.
What about hatching the giant yoshi egg. I used to spend hours trying to do it. I remember seeing it open to a combo of star and lightning and i dont know if it was a fake video or a dream when i was young but i remember spending hours with friends in multiplayer trying lol
We all remember the rumors within these video games. Luigi is Super Mario 64, the Triforce in Ocarina of Time, and Marty the Thwomp in Mario Kart 64. While none of these were true, these rumors were still a great part of my life. I had about as much fun trying to "Unlock" these things as I did with the prospect of even playing as them. I mean, I had a trick that if I ever wanted to play as Luigi, or even Waluigi, I would just alter the color and contrast on my old TV to change the color. What was important was the journey. And even a part of me back then knew that these weren't real. They were wild goose chases, but I still attempted anyway. You know why? Because it was fun. However, there was one rumor I was pleasantly suprised was real. Back in my time, Yoshi on the Castle roof of SM64, and unlocking the castle canon, were things that were far-fetched as well. But upon achieving all stars, not only did the canon open, but Yoshi appeared and gave me 100 lives and a brand new jump. One of my best memories with the game. Not because the jump was special, or the lives (Since I could just farm for them). It was all about the journey. And that single moment where what was a useless rumor to me was proven true? Vindicating. My brother and sister thought I was a nut for believing it. But I proved it was true, and they had to eat their words. It was beautiful. I loved it. And that is why I will always love these rumors. Not because all of them were true. But because every single one gave me a new mission to try when I had 100% completed my favorite games. And I will always be grateful that they existed.
We got the triforce in Ocarina like a year ago.
True. Though, that was through mods. By those standards, we got ALL of these over a year ago.

Growing up in the 2000’s even though we had some internet access, we, or at least me and my friends, still talked about the jailed thowmp or luigi in sm64 or the temple of light in ocarina of time, I loved theorizing like that
My favourite version of Mario Kart will always be Super Mario Kart for the SNES despite the fact that unlike all other versions that came after it the question marks for getting weapons aren’t reusable like in later versions
@SHADED Lifestyle I see well one time I was playing battle mode with this old neighbour of mine we were playing the battle course that was like a Koopa Beach course and him and I had to forfeit the battle because we ran out of question marks

I always found it suspicious that Marty's cage is included on the map! Usually it's only the track that make up the map! Same situation goes for the island with the big penguin on Sherbet land! Two off track areas included in the maps, and both containing a character!

I never played Mario kart 64,but I play Mario kart Wii(my cousin is getting me my Nintendo switch) and I see him and I think a second one locked in the cage.

There is another potential reason for it, it could be like the odd remix code that functions in some versions of goldeneye could use. Basically something that was, essentially, an ACI effect where it messed with assets so ontop of the normal characters, there were odd hybrids of parts from existing characters. There were some fun combos, but it wasn't worth it as it screwed with your save progression and meant you had to start everything over from the beginning...and it was a LONG chain of things to unlock it, and could randomly cause other issues with some of the characters.

There was an old Pokemon Red/Blue Rumor that was clearly fake, but involved intentionally damaging your cartridge to unlock all 151 pokemon. This rumor carried into Gold/Silver and was pretty prominent for awhile as i had friends all over actually trying and breaking their games to find out if it was true.
Im not sure if there is much content there, but it would be interesting for someone to test if its even possible to damage the catridge in a way that would have actually caused the game to glitch out and give you all the pokemon. Not true if anyones bothered to look into it.

As a kid, I used to hear of what amounted to "Bowsette" being unlockable long before Bowsette was a thing. It was kinda rad to think about in retrospect.
Actually Bowsette was a thing long before the Super Crown. It was merely female bowser or koopa peach. It only became more known due to the Super Crown.
@@ZombifiedBuizel That's... basically what I said. There was no Super Crown back in the N64 days, but some of my friends would talk about female Bowser or Koopa Peach being unlockable for this game under ridiculous means. The earliest hearsay akin to Bowsette being a thing.

I used to make up my own gameshark codes on my Game boy color back in the day when Pokemon yellow came out. I made it to where I can go into the stores and didn't have to pay anything, and to where I can catch any Pokemon at any time during a random battle, and I also made it to where all my stats were very high and also Pikachu had learned a fire ability a psychic ability a water ability and a lightning ability, plus he could swim around.
Pokemon Stadium was easy after I buffed my Pikachu on GBC GameShark and use the transfer pak, but the funny one was Magikarp, (the fish that didn't really do anything) because I had him flying through battles with the strongest attacks they made for different types, like blowing fire out his mouth.
I don't recall the info of the codes but I used to fiddle around with them and do some cool things.
Another game was Mario golf Nintendo 64 where I fiddle with the gameshark codes and change the scenery of where the ball could land on anything that could be fairway, rough, or even out of bounds no matter where the ball landed, even if you landed right next to the hole was considered out of bounds.
I did Mario golf on Game boy color and made my characters shoot 400 yards with a 440 with power and work when transferred over to N64 with all three characters, that you had to use a transfer pack to play with them.
400 is the maximum power you could give your character.
So I'm guessing it had to be something to do with gameshark codes, unless he was really smart with computers to pull something like that off to play as a block.
If iron checkpoint crate is playable character in Crash Team Racing. Then I don't see problem adding Marty in Marty Kart.
Gonna have to try that Mario Galaxy DS. I have an R4 card for my 3DS that should have no problem playing it.
The mod with the black outline reminds me of the way characters look in Smash Bros 3DS.

I do vaguely recall the rumors about this many years ago, but I knew that it was nonsense. The dead giveaway is if nobody has proven it to be real and nobody agrees on the method to unlock said character or thing. Pics and videos tend to fool a lot of people for some reason, even though everyone knows how easy it is to fake that stuff. Just because a video looks very believable doesn't mean it is actually real.

Imagine if Mario Kart 9 added a playable Thwomp as a new racer.
Magic Koopa was temporarily available in the beta of the game, the staff of Nintendo obtained the rights though to add Donkey Kong to their games which also consisted of being able to play with him in not only this game but smash bros 64, donkey kongs own N64 game, he’s used today in most of the Mario kart games and magic Koopa although had a different world to be placed in apart from playable characters anymore, he would instead be an enemy from now on in later Mario games and this was even in the Wii game of Mario galaxy.
To my understanding, it may still be known today that Nintendo never disclosed why it was that they switched magic Koopa out for donkey Kong.
I don’t suppose magic Koopa would’ve had the boos castle stage to be placed in, but all I do know is that in the retail releases of the n64 game, if dumped from a fresh original cartridge onto your own computer via one of those things made for pc’s to attach the n64 game to for dumping all of the games content into your computer I think still doesn’t support the fact that he was in any of the retail released games even the prototypes anymore cause Nintendo may have known how to unplug the source code data originally to even add back if anyone would’ve even wanted to use this.
Now in the Gigaleak, it’s known although that Luigi was supposed to be in sm64 from the beginning, a lot of things were discovered, but something along the lines of beta content for Mario kart 64 and an unlockable character was still never uploaded about even today…

My memory was significantly different as I do remember being able to open the gate, but it was just a shortcut that ramped up on top of the castle and dropped you off later into the track. I want to say when you turned the corner Marty would just be gone with the path ramping up where the wall was and the gate would open as you drove down the hallway.

I remember trying a few methods as a kid. There was always this friend who's older cousin told him about this cool secrete and that it was 100% true because they read it on a magazine and they actually did it.
So I tried the driving around the bush and reverse track method... many times.
The ghost item with the star, actually that one we just came up with ourselves as an effort to achieve the secret...
