It’s a gorgeous car Rob. Give it the full treatment.
Well Rob I think the community has voted 😊 but I'm in the same boat as everyone else. We love to see you exercise your model engineering skills ...full rebuild mate 🤗
No shelf queens, no compromise :)
It's got to be the full rebuild Rob. Do your magic sir 👍👍👍👍
Yes Rob. Please rebuild as you suggested.
Rob! Fix it cause you have mad skills!!! As hobbyist that fix things, I say fix er up and enjoy it making fast laps! Cheers!!
Go for it…… those wheels are shocking 😮 but a lovely looking car
Rob, would love to see you work your magic and produce a really stunning runner as I am sure it deserves to be.
Now,there’s the question! I would always make it run to its best capabilities and know that you can too. It’s fairly similar to the Fly car conundrum because the body is beautiful. I think that you could preserve the original parts and then use Slot. It replacement parts to tune and then if you wanted to sell it, you’ve still got the complete original.
Make it a runner Rob, keep the body stock and go nuts on the chassis.
I like my cars to run well, even if they stay on the shelf most of the time. So yes I'd do as you suggest, change wheels ,tyres, axle and gear but leave the body as it is.
Yeah please do the upgrades as i know i would like to see how you do simple changes that improve the car
Upgraden and enjoy the car.
Give it some love and then you can continue to enjoy it and occasionally run it around your track for even more enjoyment. Have fun and good luck!
That car needs to see some track time. Tune it up to full race specs and send around your track.
Fix it enjoy the car 😊
If i had the chance, i buy a second A 110 and keep one of both in original, the other one i change the rear wheels into tuning.
Lovely car, Rob with your skills I think you should do a rebuild. How good would it be to run this car ✅
Rob I vote for a full upgrade, terrible product.
I'm not sure anyone would really like to preserve just how questionable build quality used to be on some cars. Team Slot wheels were often a weakness - I have a Stratos whose wheels seemed to be formed by someone with an egg fixation. However, if you really did want to be able to revert to the original, you could take a cast of a wheel, make four new copies from which you could take the centres as inserts and add those to your Staffs wheels and new axles, bearings, and crown gear. That way you could retain the whole original rear axle assembly and swap it out as one piece whenever you want a smooth usable one and then swap back to the original if you want bigger cousin to your Hot Wheels cars. I'd probably change the pinion on the motor too just to be sure that it meshed properly with the crown gear and was properly shaped and centred too, but that's also a reversible change. Front axle location is a bit more tricky in terms of making something that could revert to original - especially with the weird side play restrictors. Maybe friction-fitting a piece of tube between the front axle supports to provide vertical location, rather than drilling out and adding bearings. It really does depend on whether you or anyone else in the future would really think there's extra value in a fully original, but unusable car over one that's been sympathetically and expertly upgraded to run as well as it looks.
I buy cars because I find the car beautiful (Color, stickers). Some I will race but the really special ones become shelf queens, So if it is special leave it.
All change, Rob. You won’t be happy with it in original form, and maybe I can get some clues on how to fix a TeamSlot Lancia!
Hi Rob, around 2001-ish, I saw a Renault Alpine A110 for sale in a model shop in Bangor Northern Ireland. I think it was priced around... £60-£70(?) I can't really remember, I just remember thinking, I want that car, but I just couldn't justify the money. Please make it what it should have been.
Do your magic, no shelf queens
Keep body as it is but redo the chassis to race it
Do your magic
Thanks for a great video. I would love to see a rebuild because I have a team slot car which I brought at the gaydon slot car festival so it would definitely help me.
Odd question :
Do you take custom orders on your swift sixteen website as the carrot basket you made for your gulf wheelbarrow would go really well with this model i am currently making
Hi, The problem with commission work is nobody values my time. Every job I've ever done or been ask to do, I've been low balled. Nobody seems to realise that my time is just as valuable as theirs and I don't get any 'extra time' add to the end of my life when I work for somebody else. My best advice to you is to copy what I did on the video using the orange modelling clay or buy dolls house fruit on Ebay 🙂
@@SwiftSlots I completely understand. I will have a look on eBay. Thank you for your guidance
Fix it
please fix this slot car
