      LOL! I was having some difficulty at first. That’s why I didn’t make the den part in one shot. I started then added to it. Once I got going I figured it out. Thank you and yes I’m wondering how they’ll web it. I’ll post an update in the future.

    The foam hardens with a chemical reaction with water from the air. If you are layering the foam that thick, spraying water in between the layers will help. Also, when foaming that thick, it may contract when it hardens, so be prepared to fill in gaps where it pulls back from the surface.

    Hey alex. I used to have that same problem with not being able to reuse foam cans. There is a little tool they sell at lowes that will prevent that hardening up. I cant remember exactly what it's called and i through the packaging away ages ago, but I think it's called "caulk saver." Despite the make it works great for foam also. It's like a little screw that screws down the opening and prevents it from hardening up in the can. ,

    Awesome job Alex. Your videos never disappoint and this one is exceptional! Keep em coming. It’s too bad that Tarantula Cribs doesn’t offer larger enclosures which would help reduce weight compared to glass.

    On your screen enclosure tops, do you switch out for plexi glass tops for safety? If not, have you ever had an issue with the screen tops? This is an amazing video...thanks!💗💗💗

    • @TarantulaHaven
      @TarantulaHaven  Год назад

      Thank you. I do not change out my screen tops on any of my arboreal tarantulas unless I want to increase humidity. I find that they don’t climb to the tops of the enclosures. They will cling to their hides or the glass but I have never encountered them on the screen. Terrestrial tarantulas are another story. I would never put a screen lid on a terrestrial because they do have a tendency to wander and don’t seem to have a problem climbing upside down on a screen lid. They will get stuck or fall from them so I won’t use them for terrestrial.

  • @AdamsWorlds

    Know someone who used that foam to fill in the roof of his caravan he was sleeping in for insulation. He filled a little in then went to turn the light on as it was getting dark and he wanted to finish off. The caravan literally burst into flames as soon as he did. Stuff is insanely flammable only takes a spark or a little heat and it ignites. :P Not touched the stuff myself since. I used some of this "loft insulating foam" instead for things like this. It comes in 4ft x 1.5 ft x 4" ish thick sheets and you can just carve it up (its super cheap also, a sheet is less than a can of foam) :D. I take a file to it and an angle grinder with a sanding disc attachment. Makes quick work of sculping rough shape. Finer/finishing shape stuff i use smaller files and sand paper :). There is another way to get same effect but i have not done it myself. This way is just use something like clay to get the shape you want, then fiberglass sheets over the top. Again super cheap to do it and quick.
    Sick setup though looks amazing dude! You did an awesome job!

    • @TarantulaHaven
      @TarantulaHaven  2 года назад

      Thanks! I know it’s flammable when wet but I didn’t know it was after drying. I’ll have to look into that. That’s a good idea using layers of foam panels. I’ll have to take that into consideration.

    • @AdamsWorlds
      @AdamsWorlds 2 года назад

      @@TarantulaHaven my friends case it would have still been wet. I am not sure ether if it is when dry. He basically inserted the spray into a gap and sprayed it, then when turning lights on the whole thing just went up very rapidly. I expect what happened was the foam bridged the gap on some electrics and maybe when wet it is conductive causing the stuff to ignite. Not totally sure on that though just a theory. I just know his caravan went up in flames within moments of turning the light on and the foam was what did it.

I think that the failure reports are when the males and female are from the same sack? It may benatures clever way to keep them from inbreeding? Maybe they sense that they are from same sack and will not breed?
