I'm still a Google Maps or Apple Maps user. But I am out west where there aren't as many restricted roads. I love your channel and look forward to the next episode.
Rand McNally RVND 7710 (the original one) in our bus conversion. Built-in system in the F-150 when towing the trailer. Google Maps on Pixel2 as backup in both cases. Still have an older (smaller) Garmin that we used in our previous toad. We take it along in the truck as a backup to the built-in system.
We tend to pull up RV Trip Wizard on one phone and Google Maps on the other. Regardless, we don't leave without a darn good general idea of how to get where we want to go. We have stopped considering campgrounds without WiFi. We aren't working. We want football! We cut the cable at our sticks and bricks a long time ago, we don't need cable if we have good WiFi.
We have been involved with RVillage since before its public launch in 2014, as beta-testers. It’s “location aware” feature is basically unique in the social media space and given the platforms RV-specific focus it’s pretty cool. This feature sometimes puts people off if they don’t understand how it works. The site does not “track” you; you get to update your location to whatever you want. Sometimes when updating your location the system “guesses” where you might be, but it does that based on IP address, not GPS, and you don’t have to accept the guess.
We've been using the RVLife suite with some success but it's still best if you start on a traditional computer/notebook and then switch to your phone for the actual navigation.
Thank you for the your content here on RUclips and your podcasts. I like your approach. It's fast moving, doesn't contain unnecessary BS, and you don't repeat yourself 5 times. You provide useful information then move on to your next topic. Most other RV channels and podcasts (background noise while driving) are 5 minutes of information and 45 minutes of a bunch of nothing. Even your other ones with your wife are still fast moving and entertaining. Good job!
On the topic of campground connectivity, if occupancy is so high and many campgrounds are booked up, what incentive is there to improve connectivity? Doesn’t seem like campgrounds are competing for campers. Thoughts?
2021 gas prices will kill your budgets ! We’re up 30 % since 11/ 03/20 ? $1.99 - $2.59 🤮. No end in sight - Gee I wonder why? Now we can visit other States again but may not be able to afford ? 🤔
The Togo GPS sounds like a fantastic app for larger RVs. Although as a small camper owner, Google maps has taken me on some very questionable routes. Once again so much up to the date RV news I can use!
I’d bet instead of more campgrounds adding better connectivity there will just be more sales in cell/wifi boosters, hotspots and the like. I also don’t anticipate much change in refund policies. I foresee more RV storage, service, upgrades etc.
Phone GPS apps are great BUT... they don’t work in places such as in many of the sections in the Rocky Mountain National Park and many other locations I have traveled to. Last year we purchased a Garmin RV890 which has solved many of the issues I have experienced using cell phone GPS apps. So now we use both. Great video.
Hopefully it will bring some of the barely alive towns along Rout 66. think you for the info..Im looking for car navigation for the directionally challenged. I need to be able to get myself out of anything Id get myself into..lol
I love my Garmin 890, but it's pricey for people who don't travel a ton. Most GPS apps allow you to download your route and the area you are visiting to your phone.
What do you currently use for GPS when RVing?

Thanks so much!
As per your glowing review, we just ordered the Garmen rv.

I have a circa 2012 Garmin that now keeps losing satellites. I think Im going to stick with my min iPad and something like Togo.

From what I understand, they're in the middle of totally rebuilding the app from the ground up to better integrate it.

A fair assessment. But campgrounds aren't booked anywhere near capacity though. They're still competing heavily for weekday and off-season bookings.

A lot of great information. The 2021 travel projections should be useful - I will look for camping with no connectivity 😏
Glad it was helpful!
Oh.. Thats the ticket.. No connectivity.. Thanks.

I’ll look up TOGO in the spring. No use paying when the RV is in winter storage.

I'm having trouble adding that APP... TOGO RV.... on my Android. I noticed several other folks have the same fail issue.
I really hope the Togo app is going to have Apple play compatibility. That is my biggest concern is not having it up on my screen in my truck.

You lose wifi/cell then what? I will stick to my RV Garmin.
Trip Wizard downloads what you need before you leave.

Where's the link to the article you mentioned writing in the video?

Great information!
Great video! Full of information. Just downloaded the Togo app. Looks interesting and exciting to hear it purchased RVillage
Great information, thanks
Thor doesn't own Winnebago. Winnebago Industries is #3 after Thor and Forest River. Their brands are Winnebago, Grand Design, Newmar, Chris Craft.
I don’t believe I said they were.
@@RVMiles Maybe I misunderstood. Ref: 1:12 into the video.
@@GeorgeSipe Wait...why the heck did I say that...
Thanks so much for pointing that out, complete slip of the tongue. I edited it out thanks to your help.
No review on Super C.....
Great Video, still looking for my RV. Where the Wife?
She gets bored by my news videos :D
Boy you love to talk, bla bla bla....
