hopefully no opportunity for commentator to say, 'its not a height thing'. fingers crossed and excited for the routes we'll see in this olympics (: allez!
If a gym can't afford a route setting program, I kinda imagine they're less likely to be able to afford the big juicy volumes and holds used by the routes they wish to replicate on their Titan
Lots of opportunity for replicated routes but hopefully this only pertains to specific competitions and doesn't replace the magic of local route setters in gyms
Standardizing the wall may be advantageous for setters and competitors, but could negatively impact the quality and innovative nature of both groups as they become masterful of a specific wall. I want to think E/P has, and hopefully will have, good intents by this work, but as they say, “follow the money”… 🤷🏼♂️
I climb at a gym that has Titan wall and I don't think standardisation equates to over familiarity as the problems set vary so much as to totally change the feel of the wall. The use of volumes radically alters the wall for local sets, but it's really nice to feel that 'normal' climbers can work the same problems as professionals and climbers across the world. We've just had the UK team train at our gym and it feels special to be a part of that community.
Hi! we hope this will bring an opportunity for competition climbers to train their skills on the wall and help them improve, also for people to experience the same boulder all arounf the world, but only during competitions. we want routesetter to always stay creative, and this wall could be just one wall of many that climbing gyms tend to have, so we hope the diversity of styles will always be there :)
so proud and happy for my buddy garrett!!!!

That's the idea to keep the replicated routesetting only for comps :)
Go Garrett!!

Still not happy about what you did to Mori Ai..
so are you satisfied that they audience felt the competition was full of meaningless and dangerous dynos? It is climbing not parkour or high jump.
