@@InitialB yeah, did snetterton a few months back car handles well. front disks have done 70k miles was advised to change them when putting in the new pads. Thinking of trying godspeed or tarox discs as it's not much more to save than OEM. Hopefully back on track in a month or two.
I thought I spotted a GT-B on track in one of the recent Driftworks vids. Then I open this and sure enough there's Phil's M3 (and I think I spotted Jay's E30 too). It's a shame you're selling the car Ben as I'm enjoying the content. I had an identical (albeit black) 2001 GT-B and they are great cars. Super refined, fun, practical...when they work. I had two catastrophic engine failures before giving up on mine....and I'm still always thinking about getting another. Anyway thanks for the content, it's very good. I do kind of wish you'd keep the GT-B forever, more as a guide / bible for myself if I ever get another but I fully understand either way. Hope you can get another old Subaru or interesting Japanese car for the channel.
Cheers man. Yeah, at that point I was waiting for my friend behind in his mini when I saw Phil’s e30. That car is FAST. Well the car isn’t selling and tbh I’m really pleased about that. I’m not sure where next to go with it. For my next build I wanted to do a Btcc inspired accord. I can’t do that to this car because it’s far too clean haha. If this engine blows then I’m not going EJ again. It’ll be an ez30 or a k24 swap . Just to keep it interesting. Thanks for the message man, keeps me inspired!
@@InitialB Okay, here me out....what about a supercharged ez30 powered mk1 Legacy wagon. Or a widebody MK 2 Legacy estate with the powertrain from your current legacy ( based on pure speculation and using my thumb as a ruler I think R32 SKyline arches could work). Or how about an Impreza powered Justy. Or a gen4 Corolla estate 1uz swap...or Celica gt4 powertrain....ah anyway. Whatever you do I'm sure it'll be interesting, and if it's quirky and Japanese all the better. Don't ruin the Legacy for the sake of novelty / youtube. But if you were keeping it and looking to endlessly upgrade it, (speaking purely from my armchair here) a 6 speed box swap could be interesting and/or various adjustable diff / gear ratio options might scratch that itch. I've heard of some people fitting Forester diffs to Imprezas for Group N rallying because they're lower ratio, and having driven a couple of lightly tuned Foresters they feel unbelievably rapid relative to the power. In fact the stock MK2 Forester XT was apparently one of the fastest cars in the world from 0-30mph, and is faster than an Enzo in that metric. Anyway I'm really digressing. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
@@jamesbg I try and judge a car, can I cruise to the Nurburgring, thrash , and drive home. And currently I think my legacy would be sound at that. But I need another trackday local to prove I’ve sorted the oil breathing issue and then I think I’d like to crack on. I was abit worried about running out of content with the legacy but if I can afford the 6 speed one day. Then I can go bigger injectors and turn that turbo up, as at 6500rpm it’s turned right down because I hit 102% duty.
Great vid, really enjoyed watching that 👍
Looks like a lot of fun!
Good video mate shame about the issue with the car, hopefully its nothing too serious or at worst a turbo.
Cheers man. Issue now sorted! Oil splashed into the heads was getting sucked up the breathers and into the turbo
Some say, he ate the banana 🍌
good content. looking to go Donningtion next, just need to replace my worn disks first lol
If your not going for every tenth, then brakes , an oil change and decent tyres are all you need
