I’m the kind of person who tends to not hold someone else accountable and wonders why something happens (I try to see the good in people and give benefit of the doubt; not wanting to see the bad in people) but I realize I should be more quick to process and realize that what I did was enough, it was the other person’s actions or lack of actions that resulted in not good changes that could have been avoided. Narcs tend to have bad rage and they get lost in their rage towards others and the world. Its not good. I still believe communication is important instead of leaving in a rage and not being able to be a composed civilized adult who talks to the other person about the issue/issues. You can’t grow as much if someone else isn’t on your level and they can drag you down to their level if you aren’t careful, but also taking accountability for the person being involved in your life.

I realised I have been programmed to like them and I felt like a connection, of course now after educating myself I learnt it was not real or genuine. I fell hard for one even though I knew he was bad news and left before the relationship became too difficult to get out of. He was so insecure and broken I could just tell. I honestly hope they heal because I could imagine him being one of the most beautiful human beings if he didn’t have all that trauma attached to him. It’s sad that he’s in that position but it’s not my responsibility to heal him. We can only heal ourselves and lead by example.
I am in this strange position where I have a job in the city, I am spiritually and psychologically able to set boundaries and say no to my narcissistic father. He is one of those religious Pharisee types. But I am not in an economic position to physically leave yet. I am 32 M. Anhow I have lived out of home teaching abroad in China for 18 months, lived in the US for 3 months, and moved out of home in Australia living in a sharehouse for about a year before if anyone was wondering. Then of course COVID happened.
