Hey! I just bought a '80 250 xt im restoring to the best of my ability anyway. Thank you for taking the time to make this. Mines running but now I feel better about tearing down the carb to get it cleaned up and running right
hey man, thanks for the vid.
I just bought one of those bikes, and started pulling it apart today. There's a lot of work I'll have to do on it. I expect the carby will be gummed up as it's been sitting for who knows how long
Also, you can get a replacment wrist throutle off ebay for about $20, you dont need 2 cables for that carb, one works very good, you just have to mod it a little.
apsghostseeker Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it. However I've since sold this machine. I'll pass the info to the new owner.
Cheers
tuf dog if you look at 14:42 after the carb is all put back together there is an extra o ring that i think was the missing o ring you need for the check ball valve on the left on the cabnet door
i still wanna hear it run
I just bought a carb kit for my bike, i have a 81 yamaha tt250. The carb kit i got off of ebay for $63. With no tax and free shipping. Do your self a favore, get the carb kit, it save alot of heart ache.
By the way on my engine just in front of the kick start is a knob with a cable holder above it. There is no cables left. Do you know what this is for?
What's the spec on the air mixture screw how many turns please I need help thanks
Never mind I just got to that part lol
hey tufdog i gotta ask u a question
do you have any old dirt bikes around you that are 125 that can be got real cheap for me and my dad to fix up for me to drive around the house message me back or reply back bye
there is an o ring
ok, Thanks
That is a 350 motor.... I am positive
+TheGamerGuy I don't think so. But if you're positive, It must be...Thanks for saying...
Well i decided to look it up and i am wrong as you probably suspected. The reasoning behind my suspision is alot of the newer yamaha YFM 350 motors have the same looking top end as the older XT 250 top end.
aw, I see. I was kind of wondering why you thought that... I appreciate you telling what you were thinking.... Cheers
