When Lestrade went to fetch Holmes and Watson at the request of the condemned, Lastrade stated that he was to be hanged at dawn, Sherlock looked at his watch and proclaimed that they only had about seven hours to go. They went to the prison, heard the man's story and then went to Scotland Yard where they further emphasized how little time they had left, but, that street was very bright and very busy, including well dressed women. Well dressed women were NOT walking about London at that time...Later on, while on their way to the theatre, Watson tells Holmes that it's aroun 10:00 PM. Dawn came VERY EARLY in London!
