Bro this guy is making everything 10 times more complicated. Double click on sample, press CTRL+E, right click on sample and under the tools menu click "convert to score and dump to piano roll". That's it.
I use this for a year already, I mostly do it to get the bass notes from the samples, people usually put it in the sample right now, and it makes it easy to not fail on the bass notes for 808s
There is the same thing in edison, you put the sample in edison and you clic on the 4th icon on the top and convert to score and dump into piano roll while having the synth highlited.
Although not accurate to the original, it has a sort of modular synthesis feel to it that could be useful as well. Using the chaotic cluster of notes to create textures through heavy processing can be a great way to start a new track
It actually added more depth if you layered the two it'd be a perfect melody with a backup off beat melody. Thats what music is. Accidental 100% of the time.
@@busyworksbeats got it thanks. one more question do you know if there’s a fix to the piano roll because when I wanna move it a little. it skips a space
@@MENO278 when your in piano roll. click edit (i think) and it says something along the lines of snap or snap to grid . cant remeber off the top but yeh its defo there somewhere mate and i put it on none. orrr you can just zoom in as much as it lets you and they become free moving.

It looks like a decent solution, but just doing it by ear wouldn't be that much more difficult either.
Depends on the extent to which you've ear trained
