Dear sir,your videos are amazing i have doubt regarding this section, i try to check youtube in which category in dignostics option and check with url category lookup but it showing Uncategorized why is that?
Did you put "www.youtube.com" to get the result
I checked in my Lab and it clearly says:
Category Name: Video hosting
Description: This category includes URLs that provide video search.

If you configure the web filtering and attaching the same with firewall policy is this still needed to configure application filter just because of reducing attack surface?
Hi, I'm working with sophos trial version 19.0 and hosted with vmware. I have tried to add web policy to user and add to the firewall rules as well but does not work. does the trial version support to the apply web policy to users.
In this video I see you don't turn on Proxy on your PC, but you can still block access to Facebook and youtube. I tried to do the same as you in the video but without proxy enabled => I can still access FB and youtube, but when I enable proxy in my PC ( ip 10.1.1.200 , Port 3128 ) = > I can block access to fb and youtube. So I think in your video you have proxy enabled ( ip 10.1.1.200 , Port 3128 ) but you forgot to show in this video. is it correct admin?
It seems like your client pc from where you were doing testing has a gateway towards internet (bypassing Sophos) but later when you added proxy it started to route through Sophos firewall and configured policy came into effect.
Have a quick check at your network adapter for a client machine from where you are doing a testing.
Hi sir, I have done like you. Blocking social network category website on web filter.
Like in my scenario i need to block all social network category website except youtube. I have tried with exception option but it's not working.
How to do it sir?
Check your rule position and web filtering configuration
When I move from another place to another Internet network, and when I open a window that is associated with VMware, the Internet does not appear. Why?
Because IP Scheme may change to another place. You have bridge your WAN Interface and assign static IP to your Sophos Firewall which belongs to the network where you did this configuration
