    Great video. Facing a 90 mph fastball followed by a 65-75 mph curve is the toughest thing in sports to do. If you've ever played at a high level, you know why I say that.

      +Adam Franklin definitely not defiantly. And only a couple of them were curves. The first one was a curve. Most of the others were sliders. You can tell by the break but also the speed. Anything in the upper 80's is a slider. They were all around 86 miles per hour.

    It's a damned shame that MLB doesn't encourage more camera angles from behind the catcher where the movement of the ball can really be appreciated. During the 60's and 70's that's where most camera views were shown from.

    One thing I have learned is that as you progress through the levels of baseball it is less about the "big break" but more of the deception and the ability to make a pitch look and see like a fastball from delivery to release point. Your ball could break 2 feet or 4 inches in the majors, if you throw it properly the movement will do its work but the hitter will be thrown off by timing and balance. Through the younger levels of baseball though you see kids injuring their arms to get these massive Klayton Kershaw like breaks by derailing their mechanics and arm action. This video was fun to watch though, all of these guys shown have plus fastballs and throw their curveballs hard as well with the exception of a little more occasional slower bloopy curve by Kershaw or the Yu Darvish 60mph curve/ephus.

    • @ashtonfronsoe45
      @ashtonfronsoe45 8 лет назад

      +MaxL14 you know those "hard curveballs" or balls that break 4 inches are called sliders right lol... that "slower bloopy curve" *is* his curveball

    • @tigerpaw371
      @tigerpaw371 8 лет назад

      +Ashton Fronsoe I know the difference between a slider and curve. I was just discussing in general, not many people can really throw a curve like Kershaw's and at that level it is less about the movement and more about the deception of timing. Then with some of the wipeout sliders it's the same effect but many kids try too hard to get big breaks on either pitch and often they are doing it at the cost of healthy arm mechanics...

    Seeing this on the screen doesn’t do it justice, 2014 Early in the season YovAni Gallardo pitched in Fenway vs The Red Sox and I was sitting 3rd row behind home plate, He wasn’t dominant as far as strikeout but my god his breaking stuff was really going that day. The bite his deuce had was incredible, right handed batters didn’t stand a chance that day, his pitches would start belly button high and drop into the dirt. He prolly got 20 ground outs that day, allowed no runs and got the win. I went home and traded for him in both my fantasy leagues.

      Yes, he is right. You are taught to turn away not jump out of the way, and for them a 70 mph pitch to the back is nothing. You turn and let it hit you so you can still turn on it in that exact case, and foul it off. When guys get intentionally hit, they throw it as hard as possible, and it stings a lot at 98 mph, so 70 is really nothing to them

    Lets look Matt's 2017 Season 3-11, ERA 5.43. Really trashed mechanics!!! In the year of his first season in 2005 with King Felix, Bud Selig and the owners all knew then that the throwing motions they force pitchers to use create permanent loss of range of motion of 12.4 + % losses and cause these kids in the future to die a horrible cancer ridden death because from the cancer causing chemicals which lace all pharmaceutical pain management drugs so when they die horrible deaths that the owners and the mlbpa/usa get all the money they invested in those thieving scumhole money traps.
    Measure Gio's range of motion since he was a rookie in 2008. All these guys are is television time for advertising sponsors. Gio has gone way up since 2012 with his ERA.
    Adam's going down hill with his fore arm fly out arm throwing motion. Every motion away from the straight line to the point at home plate from the middle of the pitching plate while rolling breaking pitches off the side and front of the fingertips is where he's injured???? Check his ballooning ERA and throwing motion form. The rest are too pathetic to comment on. They all have had their safety protections of the Federal Trade Commission. Sue mlb/usa and RUclips if you are injured by using these motion from these professional pitching and swinging coach impostors.

      Joy jimenez La Mayoría no son curvas son sliders
      Prueba poner tus dos dedos sobre un costura atravesada
      luego NO aprietes la Pelota
      Giras la muñeca y me aflojas al Tiro(No la lanzes fuerte haslo lo más despacio que puedas)
      Y a Chingar a su madre todos yo con esa curva me subian a pichar y casi siempre ganabamos :'v
      Ten en cuenta que esto te lo dice un morro de 14 años no lo tomes muy encerio o que te salga :'v

    I've played baseball until high school ended but I'm not a pitcher .
    But I know this will sound kinda dumb but what is the difference between a curve and a change up ? If they both go down ? Also the difference between a sinker and a splitter ?

    You showed only two curves from Kershaw. The rest were fastballs, change ups, and a few slider/cutter

    im not the biggest baseball fan, but i have trouble identifying different pitches while watching the games. the curves looks like a slider imo... the ball seems to drop down more than "curves"

    Hey js but most of those "curve balls" were sliders especially Kershaw his curve is 70 to 74 mph which curves are usually mid 70's

    That's not a Curveball at 2:26. There's no way a curveball can travel at 94 miles per hour. Just saying.

    Curveball's make the batters look like idiots swinging a bat because it's crazy spin.

    Adam wainrights pitches were sliders and changeups do you even know how to tell a curveball by is seam rotation? The rotation is the seam rotates forwards not backwards

    I just watched a couple of Asia pitchers that should be on this list. after seeing him compared to these guys, some really have low expectations for some pros

    I used to have a pretty nice curve in sixth grade little league when baseball was all about fun but watching this shit amazes me especially Kershaw's first pitch

    Dude hate to say it but you realise half of clayton's pitches are his changeup/slider........

    Have these above shown throwers elbows range of motion loss determined against his non throwing elbows range of motion now. These guy's have a reality check coming out of the results of that finding for sure.

    If batters could get into the habit of blinking when the ball is released they would recognize the spin on the ball and adjust accordingly!

    Im a softball player(pitcher)but i dont know how to throw curveball but the funfact is when u are in the batter box and the pitcher throw a curve ball u as the batter will though that the ball will come to you and hit you but no its not it will go to the strike zone or the ball will go to the other way thats why it isnt easy to bat the curve ball
