One tip for anyone who wants to fix it without soldering: you need to put the wires tightly together otherwise the connection won't work (d'oh!). Tried it myself with no results, however after putting a little more effort into it all four speeds now work perfectly. Thank you Peter!
Thank you 😊 I've just fixed mine. It had completely stopped blowing so first I checked the fuse under the drivers side fuse #13 a 7.5 burgundy coloured fuse was ok (eg 93 civic), under the hood relay looked ok, so followed your instructions hard part is only removing the glove box which I did then the resistor is easy to get to! Wasn't broken but very dusty, wasn't expecting any thing after blowing it clean and fixing it back but it immediately started once I started the engine up, I'm well pleased I had a look and not taken it to the auto electrician, thanks again! Took less than 20 mins.
@@Curi0u50ne hey, do you know if the fans were only kicking on sometimes then turn off on off etc. towards the end of it working, could it be the fuse or more likely the resistor getting too dusty then regaining connection then losing again and eventually not turning on at all
Although I've done plenty minor repairs on electronic components live, I highly recommend you disconnect your negative battery terminal before attempting any repairs or disconnecting/ connecting anything with power running to it. More to prevent any further damage and electrical shorts than personal injury.
thanks a lot, my old honda car resistor is the same as your car, the coil wires are intact but the blue and white cables needs to be pushed inside and the fan works. Thanks and good luck
Hi .I had a similar problem with my Honda city .Technician changed the blower motor switch .It worked for 5 days and now I am back into same problem .Now he is suggesting to change the blower motor (costing around 75USD) .Does blower motor go bad so easily .My car is around 5 years and have been driven around 25K kms .Inputs appreciated .Thanks
Thanks for all your inputs and comments . This video really helped me .I went to local mechanic .He opened the resistor switch and got a soldering done and now things are functional .All working okay now . Problem got resolved with less than 5 USD :-) . If i had gone to dhow room no concept of repair (Its only replace)
my 2002 vehicle blow air even A/c or Heater is shut off. Please suggest what could be the problem? And also A/C and Heater works fine when they are on.
@@sna2600 hey, do you happen to know a link to a video that shows what you did to fix it? Or what should I look up? Cause I may be having the same issue

Hi, I have the same problem. My AC no 1 & 2 is not working, so that's because of the blower resistor? And why my AC is so noisy? What should I change/fix? Blower motor? Thanks.
So all I need is a stick of chewing gum, and I can fix the resistor that is going to burn threw the wires again in a few weeks? Then I can remove all that crap that is in the way and fumble through removal and replacement again. LOL Just kidding! Thanks I just needed to see where the resistor was at. Very helpful
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor Which valve? Mine problem is he same: heat only comes out a little in the footwell, and pressing the selection switches makes no difference. The fan seems fine though. Thanks.

+kpat404 Hi! I believe, that you have issues in your car fan setting valves. It could be big job.
I changed that resistor and blower fan my fan 4 turned on but then it stopped could it be the climate control module?
Fuse ?
@@PeterFinnTheCarDoctor it was a bad ground wire behind the climate control module
