This generation doesn't know what music is...Slipknot and metal is beautiful, the voices, the story and everything.
there's a few gems who do but, yeah
it's not exclusive to this generation, metal was never really well received by the masses (I'm obviously not counting glam metal since it was hardly metal, just slightly upbeat van halen rip offs with all of roth's charisma being replaced with cheese)
Sorry but that's Bullshit. Every Generation listens to their own Music, I've listened to Eurodance back than, who would like this now and call this "real Music"? :D

The part where you said "You know what we hear? Ignorance, ignorance" was basically me throughout the whole video 🤣. Just give it a chance you might like it, when I first discovered Slipknot I literally only listened to Vermilion pt. 2, and now Pain Remains was album of the year for me, so you never know 🤷🏻♀️

Congrats on one year. I found your channel last February or March I think. It's been a hell of a trip to watch your journey. I actually did watch this video though a couple months back. It's funny, because I do have a lot of Gen Z friends, and they all love Slipknot.

These must be teens. I'm a Gen Z, born in 97, grew up listening to Slipknot and a slew of other bands. Personally love the style.

That was amusing...great idea! The same people who created this video also make videos of young children being introduced to bands like Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden...you might enjoy those as well.
In terms of your own musical journey, my favorite "early Biss" moment is still hearing you cry out "teach me how to be a fan!" And look how far you've come!! They used to make videos like that back when their creators the Fine Brothers ran the company but they got cancelled because someone dug back into their past and found a picture of them in blackface. After that they got accused of being racist and mistreating black employees.

@@gregorykenfield3134 Most of the old stuff is still on RUclips but nearly all the reactors are different along with the crews. It's rare they post anything to do with music anymore and if they do it's alot like the video bisscute watched. Gone are the days of kids reacting to Metallica or Led Zeppelin.

I appreciate the perspective these five ladies gave during the video. I respectfully disagree but props to them for stepping up and sharing.
When I first heard Slipknot in 2001, I wasn't into them. Linkin Park was what I was into. I was still into hip hop and modem rock. My mind wasn't ready for the sound. I was the same way with Lana Del Rey. Love them both now.
It's not about being one of those fans that want to gatekeep and say "Well, you're not a real fan like me. I've been listening since day one." Yeah, you're not a real driver then. Those roads, streets and highways have been traveled by many before you. It's about testing that road. See if you like it. If you do, continue. If you don't, at least you gave it a go.
As far as your musical journey. If you haven't heard a song. I never look at you and think "What do you mean you haven't? That's just insane." I think "Wait, she hasn't? Well that needs to be fixed. It's time for one new step in her journey."
It's the same thought process with your other channel. "Oh, she's never seen that movie? That needs remedied."

The reaction video you watched of those kids had many well known songs, and missed a lot of the gems that really got people such as myself interested in slipknot. The songs the kids listened to were basically the money makers and some I hadn't heard of from new albums but want to check out. Otherwise, there are so many other great slipknot songs.
You should definitely check out all or most of the live songs from their dvd DISASTERPIECES!!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing Slipknot for the first time last September Cory had the stomach flu and felt like shit but still put on one of the most amazing shows ive ever seen Came out to Disasterpiece and my neck felt like it was about to fall off by the end of the night.

Young people needs musical education not only about Rock/Metal, just Gospel, Blues, Jazz, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, World Music, Flamenco, etc, all that. Pop, Hip Hop and Reggaeton are distorting young people's perception of what music is really about.

I listen to metal mostly, but honestly it took me some time to really get into Slipknot. But that was way back in middle school.

I heard Slipknot aged 14 and a switched went off in my head - I loved it immediately. It feels so weird seeing kids just cringe and cower and just..not engage with it, makes me sad and angry..but yeah, everyone entitled to opinions etc

My thought was, this is slipknot, and its one of there chill songs at that.
Sure Slipknot is a heavy metal band, but they have a lot of songs that seems like pop compared to some other heavy metal bands.
Let him listen to some Austere or maybe Vildhjarta, or even if it should be more modern and known just Lorna Shore.
Also on a personal note, I love how you said give it a year and you will feel Will from Lorna Shore is singing you lullabies..
I have a thing where I don't sleep that much sometimes. So I often listen to music because its important to still lie and relax and close my eyes.
Metal music is something that helps me get sleep. Austere is my favorite band for that, they have super melodic and emotional metal it calms me.
Also it would be fun if there was, or something did the reverse.
Have some younger people that listen to metal. lets call them metal heads, and then have them listen to white radio noise songs. Justin Bieber and random techno with no meaning and all that.
What most consider radio music or mainstream music..
I have song I like from every genre ( techno being my weak spot because its just computer sounds ) But in general mainstream music is just.. I feel sorry for kids growing up with that. I grew up with Nirvana, Pearl jam, Linkin Park and so on. people that could sing, and write music that matters.
Not people writing a song about birds and how they fly to the sky, and now the sky is blue blue blue. or how rich they are, or how much. .ehm activity they have with other people..
Just all the same notes and meaningless lyrics.

It’s funny how each one of them gets different little parts of it. I think the guy with the Spotify playlist was the closest to unwrapping the whole thing. How does it feel to be on the other side of the screen for once? 😂😂😂 Also, for Jonathan Davis (Korn) the music very much was his therapy. That’s why it hits so hard and some of the music videos are trigger-worthy - he’s exploring his own past. That’s why I think you might enjoy Falling Away from Me - it exposes a dark underbelly and yet engenders hope in the end.
Please, I adore you Biss, this hurt me soulfully. My cats did not even know what to think of my attitude. For me personally, that means alot since they all at different times watch, intently and in their own way react to rock/heavy metal/ thrash/ punk/ ... this *garbled response * generation, just wow. I am lost on the disconnection. It makes me sad. It truly does.
I literally started listenning to Slipknot when I was 16, and I thought they were the best band ever, I really don't get what this generation has in their minds for sure

I just wished that there wasnt such a huge amount of ignorance and closed mindedness towards metal in my generation, i cant tell you how many people treated me poorly for my taste or the awful reaction i get when i tell people its what i play/listen too, especially when i tell them i do vocals...Happy new year biss! i have been here almost the entire time and its been great watching your journey!
