I believe this is a recorded version I heard many years ago by a group who called themselves simply "I Musici". It is a phenomenal performance, with the two trumpets quite distinguishable from each other. Not too fast, not too slow, no wretched trills that sound like donkeys braying, no silly virtuosity, just good music-making. Fabulous.
1) Adjust with your lips; do not alter the air stream. 2) You can lip slur using the same fingerings for both notes (2nd valve), as A is the 7th partial of 2nd position.
This was used as the Treasures Houses of Britain Exhibition theme music I believe-- fantastic show in Washington, D.C. in the 1980"s-- this was what they used when it was made into a special program on PBS-- terrific stuff!
This music was used during the bridal procession of Ms.Irene Marcos during her wedding to Mr.Greggy Araneta on June 11,1983 at their wedding in Sarrat,Ilocos Norte,Her father firmer President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. gave the bride away.
This is excellent. My second favourite version is the one on the soundtrack of "All The President's Men" - specially recorded for the film by the composer of the soundtrack (David Shire) in a kind of jam session with other musicians on the soundtrack!

Me too. But just now I've realised it was familiar as I played this concerto as a teen in an orchestra. I can pick up the violin and play along with it but I would never have been able to name the concerto or composer. Weird.
