Vivaldi really is one of those great underrated composers. Of course his Four Seasons are some of the most famous pieces in music history, but what about his 500-so other works? They're all absolute masterpieces, even the short ones. Their extreme technicality really put Vivaldi ahead of his time, even in his earliest works like the Trio Sonatas, Op. 1. But also, can we just mention Vivaldi's amazing operatic output? In total he wrote 52 operas, many of which are still performed today. I mean, it's a well known fact (at least in the world of music) that Vivaldi was an extremely prolific composer of concertos and sonatas, but what about his truly magnificent religious works? Like masses, and Latin Liturgical texts? They really are amazing, and I think that more people should give them a go. The great Johann Sebastian Bach was extremely religious, and composed an absolutely insane amount of cantatas, masses and other works for the church, but none of them have the same style as Vivaldi. In my personal opinion, I think that Vivaldi created a style of his own, and more people should give his other lesser-known compositions a listen.
Not to mention that the aforementioned Bach also considered Vivaldi a genius, one of his favourite composers. I feel as though, deserving though he is on his own merit, we actually owe some of what we admire in Bach to Vivaldi, who possibly was a strong influence on the Young 'Old' Bach.
@@Acorparation Even this concerto for 2 violins was admired by Bach who arranged it also for organ but ironically that Bach´s organ piece is better known than its original version of Vivaldi.

Me and my grandpa used to listen to this concerto here he was my favorite companion when it comes to classical music, in his last days he kept repeating it countless times as if he wanted to enjoy the enchantment of the world until the last breath, now I listen to it alone with two feelings a one of the enchantment from the intelligence of Vivaldi and the other one is loneliness with sorrow and I am still puzzled wether I should keep listening to it even if the second feeling kept sticking in my head or should I just go on in my life and forget it, music hurts sometimes I think!
Genius Vivaldi... The more I listen to this concerto, the more I like it. Absolutely incredible. There is something special in this melody... either the best or one of his best, definitely. Bach's transcription for organ I would say sounds even better... I also like RV279, 565, 441, 580.

Beautiful. If you are listening to this then Thank God that you had gotten beyond the 'Four Seasons' which is fine but is foreplay. The deeper Vivaldi is L'estro. and a host of other Violin Concertos that he composed as for example La Stavaganza. Yes Vivaldi used the cycle of 5th's in fast progression. But so what.

This is Vivaldi's best concerto. Hands down his best! I also like RV356
Listen to rv127
Same, this one and RV 356 are some of my all-time favorites!!
Genius Vivaldi... The more I listen to this concerto, the more I like it. Absolutely incredible. There is something special in this melody... either the best or one of his best, definitely. Bach's transcription for organ I would say sounds even better... I also like RV279, 565, 441, 580.
This one is the very best, agree. Absolute treasure.. My addiction 😇
I've always been a diehard Mozart fan, but I have to say Vivaldi is a serious contender! This music is incredible - complex, nuanced, has everything I find in Mozart's music...
The last 2 minutes of the 3 movement are one of the best endings I have ever heard!
I'm no music expert but from what I've heard Vivaldi was a musical genius
♡
check out Andreas Scholl
singing Vivaldi . 🤍
If you're not an expert or very knowledgeable in classical music, you can hardly be the one to judge if some composer is a genius or not, but I love your sincerity :D
@@kalumander I would like to know your opinion about Vivaldi's standing among classical composers.

@@jeffwirick6099 I have no doubt he does belong to the echelons of a composers who are geniuses. Thanks for asking.
Baroque is the greatest age of enlightenment, a great golden age that will remain forever!
i really dont listen to vivaldi as much as i should. probably my favorite baroque composer
1. Allegro 0:00
2. Larghetto e spiritoso 3:22
3. Allegro 6:16
Masterful! The great Vivaldi lives on! Always a complete joy to hear the greatest violinist of all times.
Those aliens better come here with good shit, cause this is hard to top.
XD
👌
RIGHT? LOL Pedro..... Thanks
😂😂😂😂
Pedro Ramos everyone in the Universe knows the music made on Earth - the wave goes on ... And where was Vivaldi from again?...
Not ads in the middle of this masterpiece, come on RUclips
Vivaldi just soothes my very soul, goodness I feel so grateful.
Ahhhh I played this with my best friend for my senior concert and we just reunited for the first time in like 3 years tonight and were playing the Brandenburg concerto no. 3 with our orchestra 🤗
Beautiful
Listening to this, I feel betrayed by modern music.
Don't forget Alma. She is the only great contemporary classical music composer alive and she's only 15! (she started when she was 6!)
@@krishivagarwal5189 you mean the girl that can compose a sonata under a minute and is very iNtErEsTIng, changing b flats to b naturals?

She's a musical genius and a gift to the classical community. She's a inspiration for children to pursue classical music and for parents to encourage them.

I can’t fathom over how Vivaldi manages to make such beautiful music. I never used to listen to Vivaldi or violin pieces alone, just piano concertos, nocturnes, etudes, preludes, polonaises, you name it. Glad I opened my ears to a new perspective of music. I now love Vivaldi’s compositions especially this piece for some reason, not sure why I connect to it so much.
Vivaldi je najpodcenjeniji baroque compositor i u isto vreme on je najosecajnije ljudsko bice predstavljeno kroz svoju muziku.
He was a genius and knew how to hook the listener from the first sound and make you addicted to it so quickly! and then you listen again and like it even more!
Beautiful, graceful, and full of lively spirit. A blessing to the ears. Shalom

Sublime !
Thank you for your posting 'Harmonico101' I hope people pick up on this.
Vivaldi and Mozart - for a better World!
Benjamin David I totally agree with you.
Benjamin David la stravangaza ❤❤❤
Four Seasons is the greatest piece of music ever written. Of course Vivaldi has many more masterpieces, which makes him one of the best composers ever.
I love everything about this comment! So true, I was really stuck on the Four Seasons for sucha long time but La Stravaganza whichis another level of genius got me out of my stationary state.
La stravaganza is beautiful
