Thank you. Brief and to the point. So appreciated. I've never had a GoPro so I'm thinking this model will be plenty good for my first experience with such a camera. What a savings, too. I really didn't notice much difference in your side by side video or audio, honestly.
I got mine for for $62...I was shopping for webcams that can do 1080p at 60fps and they were all over $120. I bought this for that purpose to get it for half the cost AND it also functions as an action cam with an underwater case. I'm super happy with it.
Good review of the Akaso 4 4k action camera. I would have liked to see a couple of additional tests on the sound like talking, external mic, waterproof vs the windproof cover. As far as the SD chip insert. I used a corner of a credit card to get the chip to set. I've seen people use a plastic knife o get the SD chip to set. Also testing on different SD card versions would be nice, like Ultra A1 U-I vs a U-3. Video 4k vs 1080p 60fps.
Solid review. I appreciate the attention to detail in showing things like the difficulty of getting the SD card in/out and the video/audio comparisons. I'm reviewing options for my first action camera purchase so I know very little about them. Your video definitely helps. Only suggestion would possibly be adding if transferring recorded content to a PC is user-friendly or another half or full minute spent discussing the included accessories or how you liked/disliked utilizing the remote that comes with it. Thanks and good luck with your channel.
Thanks I appreciate the well thought out comments! The file transfering is same as any action camera because you need to put the micro SD into a usb adapter. As for remotes I never used it in my go pro so I don't value it as high as someone else but thanks for the insight! Cheers.
I've planned to buy AKASO BRAVE 4, then watch your video and I've bought used Gopro 3+ for a half-price than AKASO :) If you stop the video when AKASO is recording, you can see that the building has some writings, but when you stop the video when Gopro is recording, you can see what is written on the building :) Thank you!
With my old model of gopro they do not for the case, the other attachment accessories is the same fitment. Like I can use the handlebar mount that came from the Akaso on my GoPro case, but I cannot put the Akaso camera into my GoPro waterproof case.
I have akaso brave 4 camera and i have some issues. For a reason, when i shoot a video, it lasts 7 seconds, it stops and it starts again for 7 seconds and so on. What is wrong? I have checked the settings but i have found nothing. I need to start shooting a video without stopping unless i do. Another thing is that when i turn the camera on, it starts shooting itself.
would you recommend the Akaso for a webcam? I need a high quality camera for streaming darts, I saw this akaso has zoom (i have the ek7000 and actually love it, the S10 vids on my profile are with the Akaso EK7000)... I would not be using the Brave 4 for sound, nor would it be "action" it would be on a stationary tripod. Thanks~!
If you're only using it for video the Akaso would be great as a webcam. Since it's directly plugged in you don't need to worry about using the battery either. Cheers.
Hey man, if it was your ONLY action camera, I would defiantly buy a GoPro instead. If you plan to use it for vlogs or anything where you need to connect an external mic, go-pro 100 percent of the way as the Brave 4 doesn't allow for an external mic. I don't know too much about the other Akaso cameras, they have a newer version that you can connect an external mic. There's pros and cons about each.
@@SnackDetour actually getting my kids a cam for Xmas. so they can have some fun on vacations, riding bikes, and swimming in the summer...feel the durability of the gopro is the way to go for them
@@furysniper yeah the durability of GoPro is unmatched. I've had multiple snowboard crashes where the GoPro goes flying and it's lasted from 2012 till now and still going strong. So pay once and get a good quality product. Cheers!
Well the video quality is decent, I wouldn't write it off completely. I do agree the sound quality is subpar at best and if you have the $, I'd recommend the gopro instead!
I got one for when I ride my crotch rocket because idiots with the brain capacity of a raccoon cut me off/stop at a yellow light/pull out infront of me. I rode for 2 months without this camera and literally missed hours of idiots driving

How is it holding up?
can you connect an external mic to it?
@@_AndromedaGalaxy_ nope, not on the Brave 4. To use an external mic upgrade to the Brave 6 Plus.

The GoPro is definitely a better build quality! Thanks for watching.
Thx for the review. I’ve never owned a action camera. Thought I’d start with this one and work my way up down the road.
Where is the microphone? I want to put cotton wool over it to block out wind.
Do the go pro and akaso accessories interchange

Sorry dude I have no idea. Mine doesn't have those same issues.

are one of the assessories something so you can use this as a dash cam/? or the like?....or do you recommend something else?
I prefer using an actual dash cam that's hardwired into the car with loop play.
Thanks for the review, are the akaso can support external microphone?
I think the brave4 cannot use an external mic. Which is why it's more of a secondary camera for me. I still use my GoPro as my main action camera.
@@SnackDetour do you know of a cam in this ones price range that can use an external mic?
Hey, i want to ask. The brave 4 it is good in term of stabilization when you place the camera on your handlebar?
Yep I haven't had an issue on my motorcycle

so you would recommend buying a hero 3 with 35 plus accessories for 109.99 vs the akaso?

Can I connect external mic ????
Hate to break it to ya but the brave4 can't connect an external mic
Very well said... Keep it up
Love the review but ur saying that a gopro ($400) is better than this camera ($80) witch for this price point it'd a really good camera
Oh my oh my I had bought already this cam before I saw your review 😥
It's ok man, its still a decent camera still just I needed something where I could connect an external mic.

Thanks! 👍
Great review I'll buy this cam
i saw one of these on wish for 1 dollar

I’ve got this camera and it’s OK but I’d definitely prefer a GoPro. The Akaso has poor sound and the 4K is dreadful.
