Funny because the Simpsons have pretty much predicted a lot of stuff. And the consolidation of news on TV is all basically a mishmash of everything anyway. News programming could probably be consolidated into one or two competing stations.
I think the reason why people subscribe to RUclips more than Hulu are 2 things. One is price and the other is channel availability. We are looking into cord cutting. Had enough with cable. We have been going back and forth on which to choose. Thank you for this channel. It has been very informative
I have had youtube tv for years and really like it for 72 bucks a month the only channel it does not have that I like is the history channel. Plus if you like the NFL you can get the season pass right now for 249.00
I have Hulu but no live TV. Don't need live TV. One day later on Hulu for many channels is good enough for me. Got an ariel antenna for anything else I need. Digitial TV over the airways is cheaper than any of the streaming options. Getting history channel or Fox or ABC one day later on Hulu streaming for a very cheap price is good enough for me.
YTTV is maxed out in price for me? If they raise more I'm going to probably drop it. Be nice if I could do away with the local and not be charged.

@@milisaw7488 I live in CT about 50 miles from Hartford and about 50 miles for NYC. I get most of the stations in both directions and I use on my roof the ClearStream 4MAX UHF VHF Indoor Outdoor HD TV Antenna with 20-inch Mast. it was about $120 when I bought it now about $160.

You mentioned the Golf Channel and it is not the best channel for golf. After the cut is made, the third and final round is on either CBS OR NBC. The first two days are best viewed on ESPN +.

Allen Media must be having a cash crunch. Besides all the layoffs, NY Post reported that Allen sold broadcast equipment and is leasing it back.
I have Paramount + and Showtime package I really don't know much about Peacock and if they merge I wonder how much the price is going to be
Netflix and hbo max have 4K quality lock at the top tier I think it should be standard at this point also the services seem to make more from the ad based plan more people would opt for the ad plan with 4K
I am sure Paramount+'s subscriber numbers are boosted because anyone with Wal-Mart Plus membership includes the service. Wal-Mart+ has 59 million subscribers as of October 2022.
I'm a new RUclips TV subscriber and happy overall. I just wish there would be some way to delete recordings once you watch them...

We already have to pay throught the nose for hundreds of channels and online services, just to see the very few programs worth watching.

I’ve been with Paramount when they were once just called CBS. The name changed to Paramount. Then Paramount+ with the merger of Showtime. Now this potential merger. Ever since I joined them back in 2017 it seems like every two years they are either merging or someone’s buying them out or something.
Whats going to happen with Paramount Plus and ShowTime bundle?
I could care less about Sports! I'm sick & tired of streaming prices increasing because of sports being added. I'm forced to pay a higher price because of this. It should be optional.

There's the Frndly streaming service. It shows many channels but not sports.
They need to be careful picking a name if they merge. Paramount Peacock = PP, Paramount Universal = PU. Gotta watch out for those acronyms...
I left RUclips TV for Hulu live when Hulu got the MLB network. I originally signed up for RUclips TV for the MLB network and got rid of it right after and raised prices.
If Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount Global, Amazon MGM Studios and NBCUniversal merge....I could see some divestments, but possibly a way to catch up with Disney.
I have Peacock and if they merge the price will probably go up.

Peacock already is raising prices
Peacock is already announced to be raising by $2. But considering the content it’s justified. On a side note, the Peacock/Paramount+ merger is FALSE being as they are both owned by RIVAL networks NBC/Comcast owns Peacock and CBS owns Paramount+
Comcast currently pays for my Peacock service. Do you expect this to change if a merger occus?

I would love to see the major streaming services do partnerships like the proposed one from Paramount+ and Peacock. I could live with subscribing to two or three of the merged streamers versus the seven or eight we have now. I will keep a subscription to Paramount+ for as long as they provide new Star Trek content. The other major streaming services are fine to rotate when they add something I am interested in watching. I subscribe to RUclipsTV for college and pro football games. I don't need it during the offseason.

YTTv is consistently number one because easy to use, channels secure, similar to cable and great unlimited recording.

Yeah I'm a little surprised RUclips TV is number one if I was going to subscribe to a cable light package I probably would either go with sling or even more likely FRDLY because I hate sports.
That means Ted will become a Paramount+ Original, Knuckles becomes a Peacock original.

I like Peacock, but what's with their Channels tab? No need to show Movies and TV Shows on there, as it's the same if you search for it... if it's Live, that's one thing. But they're not.

There is a lot on peacock for people!! I watch a lot on there, including law and order, Saturday night live. And below deck or real housewives stuff too! DreamWorks for kids and adults!!
@@PixieyDust In addition, for sports fans, there are soccer games available on Peacock that aren't available anywhere else. I learned this from a family member who's really into soccer.

This news is desperation on the part of Paramount. Skydance Media withdrew its offer for Parmount+ and Shari Redstone did not like Sony's offer. She did not want to sell in the end. The problem is they are too small to compete. NBC's Peacock is too small as well. The problem is Comcast has already told Shari Redstone if they merge, Comcast gets control. That won't work for Redstone. So now this deal won't happen. An analyst said this best, A high-level exec at a rival media company was incredulous at the latest turn of events. "[Shari] cannot not do one of those deals," this person says. "If things continue to spiral for them, you're going to sell this thing for pennies on the dollar, more than they are now. How can you not take an exit ramp now?"

I am happy with DIRECTV. I don’t know why they came in at 8% on the ratings. I know your tube tv doesn’t have nearly the channels like DIRECTV. Take fubo tv they don’t age stations like TBS.
SkyShowtime in Europe, which includes Comcast & Paramount content supposedly is a big hit so it makes sense for them to merge in the US. A merged name would be challenging I mean ParaCock, Mount Cock, Pea Mount? lol

Fubo has never made a profit. Netflix is the main profitable service.
I had already done away with Peacock, now I guess I'm going to get rid of Paramount too. Neither one of them has anything worth watching! NBC's little stunt with Ronna McDaniel cost them everything, they will never be allowed in my house again.
Password sharing - I babysit for my 3 grown daughter’s children so I signed into their Roku and Apple TV apps for HBO Max and Discovery + so I could my shows when I am there. That would make the long hours spent babysitting miserable if I couldn’t pass time watching my content I pay for.

Paramount+ content looks awesome, would the quality get lost in the merger, or would Peacock gain the quality?
Not having to pay for the services would be the preferred way. Peacock is included in Xfinity, and Paramount+ in Walmart. More content is a good thing.
For RUclips TV what surprises me more is people still want to pay for live tv.
They can do whatever they want, I'm still never going pay a subscription for streaming content. Free platforms or nothing for me. If it someday becomes pay-only across the board, then I'll start reading books.
Or start sailing the high seas.
I don't pay for any streaming services because I live in an area where there are multiple cable companies competing. For me, sticking with cable is the far more affordable option versus cutting the cord and subscribing to multiple streaming services.

I'd say the combined service should retain the name Paramount+
RUclips is a big brand name, so that’s why they’re the number one live streaming platform. Doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best.
NBC is in about last place for a good reason in streaming. NBC will just make Paramount Plus less popular in the long run due to lack of quality of excellent programming in news, sports, movies and tv shows.
Peamount or Paracock? Maybe call it "Double Ps" or "National Mountain" or "Peacock+"
If P+ and Peacock merge, who would have dominance? I Absolutely hate the Peacock UI so I would hope that P+ UI would be the one they go with. Also, would P+ keep their reality tv back seasons and other content, plus their Big Brother Live Feeds, or would Peacock take dominance and kick those shows and features to the curb?
this may not even happen as skydance is the preferred buy by the redstone family as i have heard on another channel. and the only way this merger would happen is if skydance decided to sell off the streaming service to peacock. sony would most likely not be a good fit based on its past partnerships as they tend not to stick with them unless they buy the companies out. if they cannot buy the companies one side or the other tends to pull the plug on the partnerships due to the way sony does business. iff the merger does happen it would be a good idea to call it pss for peacock sony streaming althogh i would laugh when people add an i in there.🤣

Two or three family members in the same vicinity can drop cable tv and share the cost of YTTV. This adds to the popularity of YTTV.
I am not going to say that is not possible but they do try to verify users and accounts
@@Forest77Wood As the primary account holder, from time to time, I am asked if I am viewing from home. I click yes and continue viewing. You are allowed 3 simultaneous views and 2 can be out of the home. The 4K add on will allow 4 simultaneous views and unlimited profiles.
RUclipsTV's popularity - I'm not on YTTV, but if the regular YT is any indication I wouldn't subscribe to YTTV. The algorithms on regular YT have changed and give me some weird recommendations of stuff I don't want to watch and would never search for, and those things I do search for never developed into recommends for videos or content-specific channels.

Paramount must be losing money, that's why there looking to merge. I was in Walmart the other day and as I walked in a lady was sitting at a table hustling Walmart+ and Paramount tv. Maybe they should merge with Roku tv.
I have a static IP address, when it changes, it has the ability to report a different location. Sometimes, I go online to search, it will say I am in the town I am in, sometimes another, sometimes even the next metropolis, I have even seen where the position was several states away. I have my main account on Roku, where a household member has it on FireTv. I can't have them justify which TV or service I use to determine account sharing because of that.
Paracock or Peamount?
I have both Paramount+ and Peacock annual membership I would love a partnership. Might get a price break being I'm going into it with both already. That just leaves ABC and FOX to pick up. The major networks seem to be gobbling up a lot of smaller services. This may be good or maybe bad. I am in the beginning stages of cord cutting. I have dropped Xfinity TV service for YT TV. I now use only their Land Line and Internet service. My bill went from $344 to $122 a month plus YT TV at $82 because you have to pay $10 a month for 4K it will go up shortly I am in a free trial. So basically I cut around $120. But with the annual PM+ and PCOCK a bit less savings. It is what it is. Thanks Luke I enjoy what you bring to the table.

Streaming services here in Australia needs to be algamated, too many music and VOD streaming increasing the costs.
Name for the North American Paramount-Universal JV - Look no further of Paramount Global and Comcast Europe JV - SkyShowtime - as a method to JV to European Markets where the Comcast European Arm - Sky doesn't operate (so not Ireland, Italy, Germany and UK) Paramount+ remain separate in markets like the UK. In the UK for example Sky also bundle Paramount+ in its premium packages like Sky Cinema/Sports for free
In the (European) Sky markets there is NOW TV a streaming service this name and concept has travelled recently over the Atlantic for Comcast!

@@juanthompson8016 Yeah, I was going to say it won't be for the same price as one streaming service. There will be a price increase. Ask the HBO Max fans about that when they merged "part" of Discovery+ with HBO Max when they became Max. While only wanting the HBO Max content, they had to pay a higher price to get it.

I'm actually subscribed to both, so it's unlikely the cost will be more than paying for both (although both are very reasonable, despite Peacock's upcoming price hike). Both are great for sports fans. Peacock has the Premier League, Big Ten sports, the Olympics, golf, auto racing, figure skating and more. Paramount has the Champions League, Serie A, Big Ten sports, golf and more. You'd be getting first pay windows for both Universal and Paramount movies. Peacock's original series' such as Poker Face in the same place as all of Paramount's Star Trek content. And both have extensive libraries of movies and classic TV shows. So the price should be reasonable in relation to the content, especially for fans of sports and recent movies.

If you look at the last merger (HBO & Discovery), it screwed over the then current HBO max subscribers. So I wouldn’t get all that excited about it.

The weather channel will die on the climate change hill. Weathernation or Fox Weather is free and show the weather.
I remember when the weather channel used to show weather. Soon after the lay offs they'll probably report record profits.
