    @dry137. Год назад +125

    Selective clearing is a big part of valorant that a lot of people don’t understand in lower elo. People often get given the advice “clear ur angles” and so the end up clearing everything since they dont know which angles r worth clearing. Learning the timings and probabilities of where people can be is huge and will make u a more efficient player. Clearing that rat angle on site as ur teammate is planting is a smart clear, clearing the rat angle on B when 4 have shown presence on A is just inefficient

    • @InMyAbyss
      @InMyAbyss Год назад +5

      Yes never clear angles that just aren't possible for a player to be in, but it's always worth clearing corners that are unlikely especially after you've cleared the likely angles. Too many rounds have been lost because someone doesn't clear an uncommon angle after 4 teammates have passed

    • @dry137.
      @dry137. Год назад +3

      @@InMyAbyss I mean it's all about what type of angle it is, when going on to site pretty much every angle should be cleared, but its those angles that r just random ass spots in the middle of no where that will only have someone hiding in it 1% of the time that u dont need to clear, which is about half of the angles in the game if u rly think abt it

    • @InMyAbyss
      @InMyAbyss Год назад +1

      @@dry137. oh yeah if you spot all 5 on the map far from where you're at, it's then useless to clear the angles in your area. but if only 4 get spotted, the likelihood of a lurker playing a rat angle trying to catch you is not worth the risk of not taking the time to clear every angle (properly)

    Unironically changed the way I look at the game, I thought that the best player would play the most comprehensively and leave no stone unturned so they don't die to anything "stupid". Silver player here. The amount of reynas and phoenix who hide in a corner waiting for flanks while their whole team is dying pushing a site would surprise you. Hell, if you flank one round and it works, you'll have someone call "lets all wait in spawn for flanks until timer reaches 30secs".
    Honestly I would never knife out yolo flank unless I see 5 people pushing on minimap, if I dont have info on one player Id be shift walking clearing everything.
    I think this is solid advice by you but I would recommend against in low elo lobbies, unless you wanna get tilted.

    I got a fracture question. So every other map I got a good idea of why that controller is played, but fracture I'm not sure why brim is the best controller for the map. I understand that he pairs best with neon+breach for the fast executes, but is he still as good if your solo q teammates don't pick breach/neon?
    I'm guessing it's because his ult works similarly to bind where it's great for clearing out tower like it does lamps, and the smaller sites let you clear a lot of angles with ult. I would've said the 3 smokes are great for dish, CT, and ropes before the ropes changes... but can't you get a lot of value from omen paranoia in A main and B main?
    I've seen all 5 controllers on this map so I'm just a little curious what makes brim the best for ranked. Thanks for all your videos they've been very helpful!

    Hey Woohoojin, Im not sure I got the context correct on the point you ended on at 9:59 however if its what I think it is with you arguing have your knife out in this situation, I have to firmly disagree. The situation is 4v3 and they're on a flank, players on the 3 person team will likely be aggressive and look for frags in these situations to even up the playing field. This point is further emphasized on the sheer amount of time left in the round, this is not a time you take risks as the team with 4 players, you do however want to tactically take space, have the 3 players commit to a bomb plant and then retake or prevent the bomb from being planted based on the space you've taken. I would agree highly unlikely someone is holding that space, but id say based on how poorly that fight went on A main for them that players going to DROP could more likely cancel that Site take and start pathing towards them to rotate and try to take Arcade to B.. If a player is caught with his knife out and that person has any layer of decent aim skill its now a 3v3 and roles have reversed in which team %wise will win this round... Like I said I may not have the context correct because you mention Speed-running which I don't know what exactly that is lol. Great to converse with a fellow coach and open to hearing your opinion further on this!

    • @plex1.
      @plex1. Год назад

      Nah knife out all the time during that situation, the round had literally just begun you only get your gun out when you enter dish and if the team were to play for picks after being down numbers it would take some time for them to even be down numbers and you’d already be in dish at the moment.

    The reason why low elo players check corners constantly is because the enemy is always ratting in the most random corners ever. Taking your advice to not clear some corners gets me killed probably about 5 times a game with how ratty players are in low elo.

    I disagree. You should not take this risk to get "perfect timing" on flank, and not all agent have the skillset to do this task.
    That is why pros don't solo flanking and lurking on certain agent.
    For example, no matter how fast you run with your knife out + taking the risk of not clearing corner to go even faster (which is very bad) as Brimstone,
    Neon/Raze/Jett/Yoru can do this as fast (if not faster), while clearing every corner, I guarantee you 1000%.
    This is what you call efficiency.
    As a smoker, your priority should be helping the team by:
    - Staying alive (you cannot throw smokes if u dead)
    - Throw a flippin good smokes (you are a smoker, get it right sir)
    - Trade kills (coz you are a good teammate and player).
    Smoke is what defines Smoker role, not your flanks and lurks.

    I like most of the content but this is really terrible advice
    "stop checking your corners to save 1 second with knife out because most teams in soloq dont bother to hold their flank"
    Just awful.
    If you don't know where the enemies are, at the very least have your gun out and stay alert

    11:41 the problem with your logic is that you're basing everything on the radiant elo. This isn't radiant. True, they could've done a better job at clearing but this isn't radiant. Your reasonings are good but sometimes they don't make sense. As far as I can tell based on the videos I've watched, you're just basing everything on "radiant". Base your review on the rank of the player you're reviewing, not based on what a theoretical radiant lobby would do.
