Aladdin's Castle, Eastland Mall, Columbus Ohio. I spent almost all my tokens on this game. The only one that could lure me away was the Vector Graphics Star Wars X-Wing game. Such great memories!
Our Arcade was called Land of Oz in the Mall. 78-89 Then after about 10yrs it became Aladdin's Castle. Then I got older and it fizzled. Apparently my $10-$20 every two weeks was keeping them afloat?
AN ARCADE IN BROOKLYN....DUNNO WHERE but it had PACLAND...ALADDIN'S CASTLE IN NANUET MALL had this game... I SAW TRON AT MOVIES 5 NANUET (along with a rerelease of THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN.)
I used to play this around 1987 in a computergamehall by the sea, one turning button in my left hand for moving the sign on the wall for the direction of the disc you throw and one joystick in my right hand for moving the little man on the circel... Still great game, great memories.. 🙂
when I played as a kid we had 2 people sitting in the booth one would control and the other would aim fire and deflect. We rarely used deflect you can do a fire and deflect aim straight and do a couple of kills.
I would absolutely LOVE to see either a Nintendo Switch remake or at least a console remake of this game! It was revealed that Discs of Tron was actually slated to be a final level in the original Bally Tron, but due to memory limitations of the time, it was cut as the game would have been too expensive. The remake (not the crappy Legacy for Wii version) could include all levels including the Discs of Tron full game with minor graphical and sound improvements that were in the Discs of Tron Environment version (Sark's voice and the digital valley) and a nod to Legacy allowing the player to flip to the ceiling and play upside down as Flynn did when he faced Rinzler.
My favorite arcade of all Time! 😎 Especially the Environmental cab! 😎🤯🤩 You did really Good and it’s a struggle to get that 2nd Life at 60,000! 🙄 I once made it to 145,000 on 7 or 8 Quarters!
This was my absolute favourite game at the arcade in the 80s I played it for years. So great to see this video and well played, although I'd have given you a run for top spot. I've played it on the MacMame and Mame for android platforms recently but the controls are lacking for your aimer which is a shame. Anyway, great vid. Thank you for sharing.
I played this game ONCE in Wichita KS. I was something like 5 points from 100k. The score stayed on the machine in the Town East Mall until the arcade shut down.
For those early rounds: Right, Left, Middle. Knock that guy off with one throw. Back in the day, I could play for over an hour on one quarter. I'd love to find that game again.
Loved this game as a kid ,the only place that had one was the small market up from my house , after theirs broke I never got to play again...I guess I was 12 or 13 maybe I'm 47 now and still think about this game ftom time to time
Can't help but wonder if Access Software had this game in mind when they made the final stage of Raid Over Moscow...it does remind me of it a lot, though more fast-paced.
You do know that you could move the target up or down, right? Not just around on the same plane? Limitation of your controller vs. the original controls I guess.
"Those of you who continue to profess this superstitious and hysterical belief, will receive the standard sub-standard training, which will result in your eventual elimination"
Has anyone every made all three pads disappear……? This would be great two player game against each other two sit down cabinets awsome. I used play this all the time clocked it many times. My friend hit all three pads then the game crashed…. You could move the controller up to the ceiling to hit the pads then they would flash and disappear if you didn’t step on to it…..
Sark: You Should Have Joined Me, We Would Make A Great Team! You're Very Persistent, Tron! Tron: I'm Also Better Than You! DISNEY'S DISCS OF TRON! The Arcade Hit From Bally Midway!
I have this game on my XBOX 360!!! In fact, I believe this game IS the Xbox 360 version. The arcade version has the voices on it. This one doesn’t. Still, the game is arcade-perfect!!
As someone who played this on a gba emulator for a minigame of Tron 2.0 killer app, yes it's hard to control. It made me respect Tron more being able to survive such a game against multiple programs.
A very rarely seen game at the arcades in the 80's. I believe it was a update to the original 'Tron' game. A remember a lot of hype about 'Discs', being somewhat of a holy grail for gamers in the day...but seeing the play, it appears to be nothing special.
I'm the same thing in this position; whatever happened to the good old days when we use to have, the VG (video game) cockpit models. It's kind of relaxing to have one of those again.
"Who is that?" "That's Tron, he fights for the Users."
The novelization of the movie had Flynn think, seeing Tron, “Not that it’ll help much, but I’m for you. Believe what you want to believe! Get ‘em!”
"Fuck the users, I want Admin privileges!" 😎🥏
Does anyone besides me remember the immersive upright cabinet from the old video arcade days?
If you are the only one then there's something wrong !
I do. That thing was awesome & my fav game in the entire arcade.
i do. favorite game for a.loooong time as a kid
you mean like the one in my garage?
William Crowe I sure do it was my favorite
Aladdin's Castle, Eastland Mall, Columbus Ohio. I spent almost all my tokens on this game. The only one that could lure me away was the Vector Graphics Star Wars X-Wing game.

Yes the x-wing game was fun.

best game ever...1988-1991
God, I miss this game. Haven't seen one in at least 30+ years, but it was one of my favorites at the arcades.
I spent so much money on this game. It was a great coin-op. The other TRON game I was really good at. Miss those days.
Great game play all the Tron arcade games were no joke. They kept you on your toes. Great memories 😎👍
The sound design is magnificent
I can't believe VR developers haven't jumped all over the Tron franchise. So much material to work with!
Classic game! And Happy 40th Anniversary of Tron! End of line.
Love how the computer player gets a heat seeking missile and you're stuck with the same dumb discs the entire time.
"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Stan Marsh. I'm going to have to put you on the game grid."

The arcade in Town and Country Mall in Houston in the 80s. I spent so much money on this game and was so good at it!
Ocean City, Maryland. Every year I went I played this games!
Well played, I forgot just how hard the game was.
I remember when I would win a round it would say "you'll regret this".

This is glorious in headphones!
The only Tron game I was totally hooked on.. I was so good at these muscle twitch games. This was so awesome 😎. Kept getting more and more difficult.
We'll get you!
It's only a matter of time!
Still playing five hours later...
:-D
Thank you for this content. It really brings back memories, and even the sound on my cell was surprisingly good.
really cool game for its time!
Master control progam has chosen you to serve on the game grid .... Send in the logic probe , we will get you its only a matter of time
My favorite arcade of all Time! 😎 Especially the Environmental cab! 😎🤯🤩
You did really Good and it’s a struggle to get that 2nd Life at 60,000! 🙄

You make this look so easy I used love this game but sucked at it
Why isn't Sark talking in this
“We’ll get him, it’s only a matter of time..”
So great memories
Memories of time spent playing this in Golden Goose Arcade, Rhos-on-Sea.
Not the same without it’s cool arcade pseudo 3D background cabinet!
“You’re very persistent, Tron!” “I’m also better than you!”
Holy crap I've never seen the moving platforms before! 😯
My all-time favorite standup arcade game is a toss-up between this and Food Fight. So good.
Matercontrol welcomes you to the game grid
Bloody impressive.
One of the best games ever made : ) Great video... Thanks!
Played this every day after school.
The old arcades with coins and the smell of chewing gum...I miss them....😭
I played this at a barcade in Portland. Pretty fun!
Never tired of the upright booth version at the Vernon Game Room
are you playing on emulator?
I played this game ONCE in Wichita KS. I was something like 5 points from 100k. The score stayed on the machine in the Town East Mall until the arcade shut down.
Very intimidating game.
Hard to believe this game is 40 years old now
For those early rounds: Right, Left, Middle. Knock that guy off with one throw.

Can't help but wonder if Access Software had this game in mind when they made the final stage of Raid Over Moscow...it does remind me of it a lot, though more fast-paced.
I played this at a retro arcade yesterday, I wish I could get it on switch.
You do know that you could move the target up or down, right? Not just around on the same plane? Limitation of your controller vs. the original controls I guess.
Nothing like 1983!
"Those of you who continue to profess this superstitious and hysterical belief, will receive the standard sub-standard training, which will result in your eventual elimination"
"I fight for the users"
This arcade game was in Xbox 360.
TRON 40TH ANNIVERSARY 1982-2022!
Has anyone every made all three pads disappear……?
This would be great two player game against each other two sit down cabinets awsome.
I used play this all the time clocked it many times.
My friend hit all three pads then the game crashed….

I dominated at this game
I remember when I got on the leaderboard at my towns arcade, 53,000 points.
Your scoreboard initials were the orig social media.
Who thinks this should be ported as a virtual reality game?

Where are the digitized voices?
Classic game room reviews this arcade game
Wow.
I didn't realize that Disc on the Amiga is based on this game
Huh, missing the background in this game
FortunaChan IIRC, some of the game's visuals were part of the cabinet itself
***** This was one of those reflective backlit-type deals.
Can't see the
screen..
Of what I like the best is; the one player VG, especially if it's about 'Tron.' If anyone understands it.
Diesen Automaten gab es damals in Berlin nur im Alice of Wonderland, so weit ich weiß, Ku'damm.
12:28 huh....either you're Beck, or you are human

Is this from Mame or an actual arcade console? You dont use the deflector ha?
Shame it wasn’t added on with the orig tron arcade as a diff level
I was terrible at this game but my friend was great. My game was Tempest. Guess I saw thing in 2d and he saw them in 3d.
Holy crap, this looks really hard to play even today
As someone who played this on a gba emulator for a minigame of Tron 2.0 killer app, yes it's hard to control. It made me respect Tron more being able to survive such a game against multiple programs.
Hi good job, How do u play? keyboard + mouse or with a pad?
No longer are we ever hooked with one on one anymore.
Bring out the logic probe……hahaha
看得好躁
Tron: I'm Also Better Than You!
This is on xbox one online game store under xbox 360 collection
Why isn't Sark speaking?
That's only with the environmental ROM set.
so this inspired ricochet

+spockmcqueen It was a special game, just compare it to other games of the early 80's. it had a 3D feel, while only being 2D.
I'm the same thing in this position; whatever happened to the good old days when we use to have, the VG (video game) cockpit models. It's kind of relaxing to have one of those again.
This is awsome game if you ever played it….
Anyone else here trying to justify an Arcade1up purchase?
