IMHO, you are richer than most, brother. It’s all in how one’s view assigns meaning where there really isn’t any. I have a similar environment in the states as your lovely slice of heaven there. I have created my own ashram amidst nature and the wildlife here and my guardian of being of 14 yrs ( Rotty/golden retriever mix named Grace ) just passed several weeks ago. The natural order of things was right there to unfold it all as it does. Failure on the surface level/mind does not reflect the greater success that is found within the deeper dimension that most are unaware of you. You are blessed brother with a sentient new pup walking alongside side you, a lovely partner and family that to me is rich in integrity and earnest work- I look in at your world and feel blessed thousands of miles away by your presence -keep creating the content as you are as imho you are most definitely on to some thing and making a difference /contribution to the planet 🙏🏻

CV joint gone on the car, caused by either, using too much full lock steering or the rubber boot covering the CV joint has split and gone dry inside (no grease). You have a great life Ryan.
First the part is called a CV joint. Second I would call your life is a blessing. You have a beautiful family. I know families here in Bali that have no father and struggle to get by. I help a few families as I can but that can be difficult. So my point is you have a blessed life. In particular you have the elder parents as part of your family. I can’t imagine how fulfilling that would be. 🙏🙏🙏

Personally, I have learned that being able to navigate life (building a family ABROAD, finances,...CIRCUMSTANCE AND LUCK....putting it all together & moving past he "typical lifestyle" and buliding a life as the "locals" would do is a massive achivement and truly next level. #Kudos #HenJai

Better to try and fail, you learn. I came upon a Golden Eagle in Suffolk, UK whilst making a delivery. As I approached down the track I thought it was a large wood carving on a perch at a rural farm. When I pulled up and looked over its head turned to look at me. A freak out moment. The guy had kept it since it was young and it happily sits on its perch watching the military aircraft and helicopters flying overhead. Looked very healthy and was a good size. Beautiful. Had a bonus in the 1980’s of seeing one wild in Scotland close to Loch Lomond.

I know everyone is commenting on success/failure but I am going to swerve that as I think you get the message. No, I want to talk about the caged bird of prey. Birds are amazing animals, they can fly anywhere they want to so if they don't like you they don't come back. Simple. That bird got really excited when the mechanic went up to it, in contrast to how it reacted to you. It is bonded to him, not just for food but affection and he is its family. It has stayed with him all this time and it would be terrible to take it from him so rest assured it is having a fairly nice life. Okay, a larger enclosure could be better but otherwise it is fine. Apart from keep on being you, swerve the corporate life, live the simple one.
Failures I’ve had many aswell… at my age of 65 I have had to give in to a forced stopping of work, due to health issues. I was in construction and my plan from 55 years of age, with my new Thai partner in Australia was to build my business and sell up at 67 with lots of assets and cash… then at 57 I was diagnosed with pancreatic pre cancer. Had a whipple procedure and was still ready to move on with my plan. 2 years later the rest of the pancreas failed and I had to have it removed completely. Still kept chasing the plan but about a year ago I was getting a bit worn out. Put some workers off and tried to do the work myself. Bit like flogging a dead horse I guess. Tried to sell the business for a lot of money and after another long stressful cortisol filled period settled for a lot less money. In the throws of thinking I’ve failed but my daughter, who is one of my best friends told me that I haven’t failed in her eyes. That meant more to me than I can put into words. Now just waiting for my head to clear as I’ve only been in Thailand for a couple of months. Love hearing your life experiences and please keep them coming. All the best to you and yours. Brett
Owns own home.. check, Owns own car.. check, Owns own land with little to no property taxes.. check, Has some money in the bank.. check. Has a loving family.. check. Lives in nature with clean air, little to no pollution and peace of mind.. check. Has no substance abuse or addiction problem, check.. Mate, you are among the 1% wealthy but you just don't know it. You can have all the money in the world and be a miserable SOB. Working a corporate job sure your going to have more money again at the expense of renting your limited life hours to a prik of a boss. People have nothing back in the west. No land, no house, no cash, no future, no family.. only a shitty job to go to each day... We are lucky beyond belief......
Ryan, in considering the idea of failure or success don’t we all have some sense that success or failure are absolutes? If so, let’s look at the reality that neither success nor failure are absolute…. The one caveat being to keep going…. Looking for what’s next. The parts of life and what ever were doing in putting it together or maintaining, even growing parts are certainly successful and parts are also failure though there is always more than either and its never done…even when we die…. It’s life we’re really talking of and to leave it with a definition of either success or failure is not really seeing the value and potential in making these choices ….and changing these choices as well. CV joint gone on the car, caused by either, using too much full lock steering or the rubber boot covering the CV joint has split and gone dry inside (no grease).

First the part is called a CV joint. Second I would call your life is a blessing. You have a beautiful family. I know families here in Bali that have no father and struggle to get by. I help a few families as I can but that can be difficult. So my point is you have a blessed life. In particular you have the elder parents as part of your family. I can’t imagine how fulfilling that would be. 🙏🙏🙏
Ryan we enjoy watching those eagles catch fish when we are in Koh Chang, all along the coast but especially from the Rasta Bar easy to spot with the white heads.

I love your philosophy! Bang on! The top thing would be for me Thailand's always been hot but with global warming it's even worse. Also the air pollution would be a big challenge. I think the part your car needs is called a CV joint in America. The telling sign is clicking when the wheel is turned.
Personally, I have learned that being able to navigate life (building a family ABROAD, finances,...CIRCUMSTANCE AND LUCK....putting it all together & moving past he "typical lifestyle" and buliding a life as the "locals" would do is a massive achivement and truly next level.

It is just my opinion Ryan but I think you are a total success, you are providing for your lovely family, you have a loving wife, you seem to have every thing you need and you are living a relatively stress free life. What more could you want.
The people that suggest you might not be successful, probably spend every waking hour working to be able to afford their exaggerated life style, they are always under stress and never have time to enjoy the things that matter in life.

The bird is a Brahminy Kite. Bird looked in good condition but not suitable for keeping in a cage.
I'd like to vary the bird's diet with some snails, fresh water crabs, eels, and what other protein sources in a typical rice paddy.
CV joint is my guess on the car but I haven't finished watching yet.

When a car makes that clicking sound on turning it usually means your CV joint is bad and needs to be replaced.

I came upon a Golden Eagle in Suffolk, UK whilst making a delivery. As I approached down the track I thought it was a large wood carving on a perch at a rural farm. When I pulled up and looked over its head turned to look at me. A freak out moment. The guy had kept it since it was young and it happily sits on its perch watching the military aircraft and helicopters flying overhead. Looked very healthy and was a good size. Beautiful.
Had a bonus in the 1980’s of seeing one wild in Scotland close to Loch Lomond.

Im taking an educated guess its your cv joints as your car is front wheel drive, the clicking noise is the gear is getting worn down an will click as you turn as the gear slips contact with the drive gear they are a pain to replace in some cars.

For one person it may be by achieving professional goals or for another it may be about reaching financial stability. Sadly, so many people are so busy being driven to that ultimate goal that in doing so, they have forgotton about enjoying this only life they have.
It should not only to be about reaching that higher position.

I know everyone is commenting on success/failure but I am going to swerve that as I think you get the message. No, I want to talk about the caged bird of prey. Birds are amazing animals, they can fly anywhere they want to so if they don't like you they don't come back. Simple. That bird got really excited when the mechanic went up to it, in contrast to how it reacted to you. It is bonded to him, not just for food but affection and he is its family. It has stayed with him all this time and it would be terrible to take it from him so rest assured it is having a fairly nice life. Okay, a larger enclosure could be better but otherwise it is fine. Apart from keep on being you, swerve the corporate life, live the simple one.
Failures I’ve had many aswell… at my age of 65 I have had to give in to a forced stopping of work, due to health issues. I was in construction and my plan from 55 years of age, with my new Thai partner in Australia was to build my business and sell up at 67 with lots of assets and cash… then at 57 I was diagnosed with pancreatic pre cancer. Had a whipple procedure and was still ready to move on with my plan. 2 years later the rest of the pancreas failed and I had to have it removed completely. Still kept chasing the plan but about a year ago I was getting a bit worn out. Put some workers off and tried to do the work myself. Bit like flogging a dead horse I guess. Tried to sell the business for a lot of money and after another long stressful cortisol filled period settled for a lot less money. In the throws of thinking I’ve failed but my daughter, who is one of my best friends told me that I haven’t failed in her eyes. That meant more to me than I can put into words. Now just waiting for my head to clear as I’ve only been in Thailand for a couple of months. Love hearing your life experiences and please keep them coming. All the best to you and yours. Brett

Mate, you are among the 1% wealthy but you just don't know it. You can have all the money in the world and be a miserable SOB. Working a corporate job sure your going to have more money again at the expense of renting your limited life hours to a prik of a boss. People have nothing back in the west. No land, no house, no cash, no future, no family.. only a shitty job to go to each day...

Ryan, in considering the idea of failure or success don’t we all have some sense that success or failure are absolutes? If so, let’s look at the reality that neither success nor failure are absolute…. The one caveat being to keep going…. Looking for what’s next. The parts of life and what ever were doing in putting it together or maintaining, even growing parts are certainly successful and parts are also failure though there is always more than either and its never done…even when we die…. It’s life we’re really talking of and to leave it with a definition of either success or failure is not really seeing the value and potential in making these choices ….and changing these choices as well. S again, what is success and what is failure?
