I hate the animals in cages also, I don’t like pet shops in Australia either but there are not many that have animals anymore here. The pet shops were ‘supporting the puppy farming industry’ which is illegal and cruel.
Always a reminder how different cultures alot space. The aisles through the market are so narrow maybe 3'. In the US you'll have 10' to walk so rarely do you bump into anyone. I found it a real shock in some countries to be jostled constantly in public spaces. Great tour!
Hey, that was Nackonchaiair NangRong, I was there two weeks ago. I always wear a hoody in the bus, and give a pass to the snacks offer on the bus, I never figured out what the meat mash it. I always travel the bus when travelling alone between BR and BKK.
My home in Thailand is very close to the train station, so I ride the train often. Here is a couple of pointers. Learn where the seat numbers are in the car before you get your ticket. Half of the seats point backward so if you would like to see where you are going and not where you have been pick wisely. Also, it is better to sit on the shadyside in the afternoon. lastly, the seats near the side exits have the most leg room and place to put your stuff. One more thing sometimes (this is true on the buses) the seats at the ends can pickup toilet odors. Most the trains have wester toilets now, but in the old days it was a trick to use the squat toilet, hang on, as the train bounced along, and try and relax to do your business.
What a journey. The market is quite a place.Yep life has become a rat race with really no thoughts of people in distress.Really sad.Looking forward to the next leg of travelling. The bus is really luxorius. The little one was really not happy with dad leaving without him.
I travelled to Chang Mai from Bangkok by train about 12 years ago and Hua Lamphong was one of my favourite memories for my entire trip. The building itself was full of character and characters. I guess it's called "progress" but that memory will stay with me forever
Love the mushroom thoughts. “In a fleeting moment, thou must live, die and know.” I’ve used only trains domestically everytime I’ve had the choice in Thailand. It’s always so easy, so affordable and a great way to see the country. Krung Thep apiwat station is a great example of future proofing and foresight, huge station with massive capacity, all ready for the high speed rail.
During my time in Bangkok, we used to visit Chatujak every weekend for perhaps 8 years to buy products for our eBay shop. I have many happy memories and friends from those days. Interestingly a few of sellers flew down from Chiang Mai every week to sell their goods which we bought and sold around the world.
That is how I travel when heading to and from Bangkok / Sikhiraphum. Car to Surin from the house then VIP bus, city bus followed by two sky trains to airport and vice versa.
We’re excited for you to go on the train Ryan! We’ve never been to Chiang Mai and we do plan on hopping on the night train from Bangkok heading there! From what I was told the first class cabin can be too cold; hence we actually like the idea of going 2nd class! We cannot wait for to watch your overnight train vlog! Thanks for sharing this one😊
