My 'muslim friends' have a better understanding of Islam becuase I know for a fact they are musims, those Syrians arent ALL muslims and they're culture differs to mine and my Muslim friends. You're making middle eastern traditions & govs represent Islam, which it does not. Also, yes, Islam sees being gay as a sin but nowhere in the Koran does it say to murder/execute them. God knows we are not perfect. +ARX 351 I disagree, I think that bringing light to the fact that these corrupt institutions are in place will help turn more people against them so that they can fight against it.
Peter I It's not about fighting, african countries had enough of wars, revolutions, and coups. They just have to take their time, with just 10 years of peace Angola's economy grew exponentially, to the point that their former colonizators, the portuguese, were emigrating there after the bad recession we had in Europe.
Whenever someone starts talking about a country and a map comes onscreen, I always expect John Oliver's "a country you think about so little, you haven't realized that's not, this is " bit
***** Yes, the Chinese are buying African opinion and diplomatic favor, but they are one of the most racially inward looking countries in the world. They would never accept African culture like we would (of course we're not perfect). If you think we Americans exploit Africa, you should learn about Europe.
***** No offense, but you don't know the whole story. And you're telling me things I already know. It hasn't even always been a black and white thing. Policies were made against newer Europeans who came to the US, against new Africans, against newer Asians. All of this changed because we felt it was necessary (the laws didn't make themselves, you know). Yes there's still inequality here (I'm agreeing with you); I know that better than anyone. I lived in Spain for a year, and you know what? Many Africans were shot at sea for trying to enter Europe in this day and age. Despite Spain being one of the closest countries, there is virtually no African descent people. I was an English teacher in China, and my African colleagues would get paid half of a European (who spoke horrible English). It's all good to talk about stories we hear about in the US because we're an open book, but to travel and see how badly people are treated in homogenous countries in Old World continents is quite something.
***** You are confused, my friend. We're speaking in an endless cycle of agreeing with each other (What's the point of telling me about whitening? That happens in Africa also). I'm am not denying that dark skin isn't welcome (did you even read?). I also know of everything you just said and you're proving my point about India. Also, you're talking about systemic racism (which is not a black and white thing). You're using the exception of a white girl who treated you badly (who may not even be American), and Chinese who were good to you to show your examples. You've ignored my examples of systemic racism around the world and failed to question how American laws were created in the first place (by Americans who believed in it). There would be no discussion in Russia or China. You've traveled as a tourist and that's nice, but if you looked deeper you would see China's "minorities" being "cleansed" simply for "having a different face". I've had friends who just disappeared.

Probably. Although I think humour is just the most common coping mechanism. If you aren't laughing about it, you're gonna be crying about it. Or you'll just be really pissed off.
Yeah that explains all those Russian comedians.. I think some people are just genetically predisposed to humor. All those people had great wit, and they make Americans look dumb as hell have you ever seen American street interviews
Czech people were known to love comedy in the German world. During the soviet era, but even before when they were under Austrian rule. But I guess there are counter examples. I've never heard Chinese people are famous for their humor.
We Americans never realize how lucky we are to have the freedom to vote until we hear the stories of other countries and their struggles when it comes to their elections.
Vincent Lucic I would love to explain how the Electoral college works :) See each state has a set number of Votes that actually matter called Electoral votes, sent in by electors based on the majority count per district. The winner takes all the electoral votes from that state. Even if half of them voted otherwise. States like California average above 50 electoral votes per election, Florida usually between 25-30, and places like Maine only about 3-4. The first person to reach 270 electoral votes becomes president. Now for a fun history lesson on did you know that George Bush LOST the popular vote by OVER HALF A MILLION VOTES. 540,000 Americans found out the hard way that their voice does not matter. Their choice is irrelevant, its all a fucked up game of gerrymandering. Because Bush got enough big states to pass that 270. If you're in a red state and you wanna vote Hillary, you might as well stay home, vice versa for a blue state and Trump. Swing states are basically the only ones that matter and can actually make an impact when it comes to a small handful of electoral votes. SMH Even Russia has more of a Democracy than we claim we do.
Thank you so much. I understand it is antiquated but I hate when people say "your vote doesn't count." Then don't vote if it doesn't count and with that attitude from more Americans the world will be a better place. Most people don't know how it works, people just say "your vote doesn't matter" and they don't know what they are talking about. I don't like the electoral college either it was set up to protect wealth, but your vote does count
Vincent Lucic To an extent, honestly i don't see an issue with Electors my one and only gripe with it is that its winner take all. When that's not the case. There's no such thing as a Republican State or a Democratic State. The vote is up to the individual. So when you have California as the most common example plus it has the most Electors. Gets one they already have 1/5 of the total votes they need if they win that state. They should break it up so that Trump can have 30 electors from California and Hillary received 25 from California. Rather than tell half the population their votes went down the toilet because Trump got the Majority.
@@thadramallama As if KTN doesn't have an arrangement with NBS TV to use their clips. Those are clips shot by local Ugandan stations and voiced over by Kenyans. It's the laziness of Noah and his crew (which includes two or so Ugandans) that led to that.
Your episode on Demonetization of Indian currency made you famous in India. You've got huge n number of fans here. We love your show and we really wish we had somebody like you who would discuss Indian political in an unbiased and funny way.
i live in uganda and i remember these elections...ah...kills me everytime how people didnt have any ballot paper and worse yet the opposition is sent to jail so many times i cant even deal with things here😂😂😂😂
This is an invaluably didactic contribution. He is tackling two issues at the same time: entertaining and educating people about international news and another continent. Great job, Noah.
It's like back then in Indonesia, Soekarno manipulated the constitution so he became a lifelong president. While Soeharto kept getting elected as president for 33 years because his party is the the biggest party in Indonesia and back then, we didn't have a law which states that a president can only be elected twice.
That last part with the interviews really made me feel for the Ugandan people. Often through the clout of news and my personal cynicism when thinking about Africa I tend to just forget just how seriously shitty of a situation it is in Africa with such intelligent people. Uganda and all of Africa are in my prayers.
+Veronika Vartanova Yes, unfortunately. But nobody can do anything about it, because politically Belarus is de facto just a region of Russia. And from the looks of it, Belorussians do not even want change, because they've been brainwashed to believe that the West is some spooky monster that wants to destroy them, when in fact that monster has been sitting in his throne since 1994.
+pvls Well, It's more like belorussian economy and much of industrial power being very dependant on Russia; as for the people of it - lol, NO, pretty much anyone here is assured that life in any Western country is the epitome of "good and better", we're more like... uh, mostly very indifferent to the domestic politics. Plus, of course - God forbid the government will try and do something to pique out interest into the matters or initiate an open dialogue and even remotely raise national awareness of the political process and decisions.
+Veronika Vartanova it's not just the economy, Belarus also has close military ties with Russia, which kind of makes it another Crimea waiting to be annexed. On the other hand, Belarus could become less dependent on Russia if it wanted to: for example, Belarus was invited to the Eastern Partnership Summit last year, in order to expand economic ties with the West, but Lukoshenka decided not to show up. But I'm sure that everyone in Belarus is very happy with their leader, and the 80% of the votes he gets in elections are completely fair, with no brainwashing (Press Freedom in Belarus is non-existent, you can check the rating at FreedomHouse.org - it's the 5th worst in the world) or corruption involved... oh, not to mention that members of the opposition mysteriously keep disappearing.
rebel 777 I hate the fact that it’s true (online at least). The left needs to stop attacking and judging trump supporters bc they’re allowed to vote for him. Openly judge people on how they act and not their politics.

Though judging by my cuban relatives, humor is a typical coping mechanism for dictatorships....
KendrixTermina tis true, you can see it starting with trump
@@gingergamergirl98 True! You don't want to be too pissed off to be suicidal about it.
We Americans never realize how lucky we are to have the freedom to vote until we hear the stories of other countries and their struggles when it comes to their elections.
Freedom to vote lol, you act like popular vote matters xD
Can you explain how the electoral college works?... No. Then shut the fuck up
Vincent Lucic
I would love to explain how the Electoral college works :)
See each state has a set number of Votes that actually matter called Electoral votes, sent in by electors based on the majority count per district.
Vincent Lucic
To an extent, honestly i don't see an issue with Electors my one and only gripe with it is that its winner take all.
THE SOFA ON THE CAR THING REMINDS ME OF THAT MR BEAN EPISODE AND NOW I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE. I'M CRYING OF LAUGHTER
crossfires then it's clear u have no idea of what is happening in Uganda
Watching this in 2020 I'm noticing that Trevor's accent is disapearing 🤔if you compare him now to 2016
At least he's still funny
Yes he goes to speech classes.
He had an accent in this vid?
I love how they use Kenyan media outlets to talk about Uganda
Ooooh great.
We talk about everyone 😹😹
@@thadramallama As if KTN doesn't have an arrangement with NBS TV to use their clips. Those are clips shot by local Ugandan stations and voiced over by Kenyans. It's the laziness of Noah and his crew (which includes two or so Ugandans) that led to that.
@Ainembabazi Brenda I tell you. KTN is owned by the Moi family, while the M7 family owns NBS. But that is East Africa; there is little we can do.
Walai.
I love you Trevor. Don't let the hollywood snakes get you.
+kittensugars i agree
Those two cushion on the Ugandan President's couch 😂😂😂😂
America be like: we have to be first in everything let me fix that
😁😂😂😃funny but true.
Right 😂
I liked the talking to people on the street thing! The one where the guy compared Trump to a drunk uncle - hilarious!
This is so crazy! his personal doctor as an opponent?
Your episode on Demonetization of Indian currency made you famous in India. You've got huge n number of fans here. We love your show and we really wish we had somebody like you who would discuss Indian political in an unbiased and funny way.
The last joke cracked me up as fuck
Cracked me up as fuck...
Thank you for introducing Africa to the whole world..😀I am a huge fan of you!
4 years later as I text this...Bobi Wine is under unconstitutional house arrest😳😳😳
i live in uganda and i remember these elections...ah...kills me everytime how people didnt have any ballot paper and worse yet the opposition is sent to jail so many times
i cant even deal with things here😂😂😂😂
I heard it in the news, and I was 5 in 1986. Some of my family knows about Museveni.
That 2nd Ugandan interviewee in the sunglasses has a killer accent
+5Oblivion Why thank you!
This is an invaluably didactic contribution. He is tackling two issues at the same time: entertaining and educating people about international news and another continent. Great job, Noah.
Uganda hilarious as always😅i need to visit Uganda.😅😂
Uganda:
It's worse here.
+aidan cowie Well, someone doesn't want to make Uganda great again!
+uegvdczuVF :)
+aidan cowie That can't really be the motto. I call bullshit.
2016 : election winner Yoweri Museveni
2021: election winner Yoweri Museveni
3000: election winner Yoweri Museveni
Shout out to my neighbors from Kenya 🤗
So much love from Ug
Why is it recommended in my list after he has won presidency again recently?
At least they play with their elections, not a different country 😂😂😂
Trevor, we need you again. Please make another skit. Uganda needs you now more than ever.
It's like back then in Indonesia, Soekarno manipulated the constitution so he became a lifelong president. While Soeharto kept getting elected as president for 33 years because his party is the the biggest party in Indonesia and back then, we didn't have a law which states that a president can only be elected twice.
2020: You sure about that Trevor?
😀😂😁😂😃😂lol !!!!! I am sure he is kicking everything on his way 😆it's called KARMA.
Confusion on the highest orda.
it s like asking a Muslim to choose ham or bacon
thank you for speaking my mind, lolol #fromUganda
Ugandans : *WHY ARE YOU GE*
e japanese way
You are gae
Who sezi we a gey
Oh! they interviewed siima, rudende and libolo😂👌👊👊👊 the hilarious ones🇺🇬🇺🇬
I love when Trevor talks in an African accent 😅😂
That last part with the interviews really made me feel for the Ugandan people. Often through the clout of news and my personal cynicism when thinking about Africa I tend to just forget just how seriously shitty of a situation it is in Africa with such intelligent people. Uganda and all of Africa are in my prayers.
"Who's laughing now? "
-Ugandans to Americans
I love that joke at the end
“Well someone doesn’t want to make Uganda great again”
hi from Uganda
I'm from Uganda, and I have to say;
Everything that was said here is 100% accurate to the reality.
I had to watch this because I couldn't believe the title hahaha
Try Belarus, our president has been ruling the country since 1994, and we're in Europe!
1994 ??
Don't worry ,you have a relative Rwanda...., it's Ugandas neighbour and you are twins coz their president has also been around since 1994
Can we take our Trump supporters and swap them for those Ugandans? They seem to be more qualified to participate in the US Presidential election.
Don’t insult someone based on what their politics are.
rebel 777 I hate the fact that it’s true (online at least). The left needs to stop attacking and judging trump supporters bc they’re allowed to vote for him. Openly judge people on how they act and not their politics.
@rebel 777 how is he left
For the people that don't understand this comment, because their lazy asses didnt wanna watch the whole video:
Check from 4:02 to end, Ugandans are actually more wise than Americans. 😂
Lol you probably should go there and exchange yourself with a Ugandans
Trevor thx u
Ah! The Daily show. Making up our minds with their side of the story even about other countries. So refreshing.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Make up your mind, so every single time some say something even if it is or isn't directed to you they've made up your mind.
This has to be a joke right? You have amazing senses of humour don't ya (so I hear)😂😂😂
Uganda is the best country with fantastic people. Tremendous. Huge. Wrong. CHINA!
That bacon/Ham line was the most random thing that has ever come out of my mouth.
