Ok she's got some chops! I hadn't heard of her but now I should definitely check her out. Just got a stage custom in classic white from GC and I'm loving it. Threw some coated emperors on it and my sound is complete.
Nice drums, I'm glad they're available in this configuration. A 6-piece Yamaha is iconic to me and probably many others because of the video of Vinnie Colauita, Steve Gadd, and Dave Weckl at the 1989 Buddy Rich Memorial Concert.
When did this silky blue finish come out?? Love it. (I have Raven Black - also love it :) ) - nice to see these SCBs getting some real love, they're fantastic drums, independent of the price point.
I have a Stage Custom that I bought from my local GC 8 years ago to bring with me to college and I used it for various gigs and performances. I went with the 14 10 12 14 20 version in the natural finish but last summer I found a matching single 16 floor tom used at another store. It's a great kit that works in any setting, and the snare is probably the best snare on any shell pack under $1000. Hardware is top level as well. This new blue finish is awesome, anyone who picks this up will be happy. My only question is for what heads I want to try next on the toms, I've been going coated G2s over Reso 7s since I started but thinking about trying something else.
I use coated top/clear bottom vintage emporer's on the toms, coated vintage Ambassadors top/ clear on bottom of snare. Emad2 on the kick with a coated vintage Ambassadors on the resonance side of the kick. This works for me.
There is a VARIETY of 'Stage Custom' drums available! This all-birch series is one specific variety, but this specificity is blurred in advertisements. It seems kinda shady TBA
Hello. Please help me out here: I can get the stage custom 5 piece for about the same price of a stage custom bass drum and a tour custom snare (so a 2 piece). What would you do. Is the tour custom snare really that much better?
The sound of the druns is awful the way its recorded. I know they sound great because i play yamaha recording customs but come on guys, mic them properly for the demo!
Dw pedals yes, dw drums? No. Thry spund great but inconsistency from thr factory. I cant get any head to fit on the 12 and 14. Its so tight i took them off and the finish came off, i returned them
