My '76 D-100 had the tank in the cab and never bothered me but I bought it new so it was probably OK then. The truck had plenty of other defects right out of the factory, but it was very economical with the slant six engine. Chrysler hit rock bottom on quality control somewhere around 1978; today's pickups are light years away on how they're built.
Which fuel tank did you get from GMC truck?I also have a orange/white 72 d100 2wd that I want to relocate the fuel tank.do you have the part#,from the fuel tank?
Cómo va todas las mangueras don de se conecta todas el de lado del piloto del tanque de gasolina ende tras del asientos dime cómo va conectado o muéstrame lo en el libro que tienes
Pretty good work. You may want to join us over on the Tin Grill group. facebook.com/groups/470766243073826/?fref=nf And you will find your welds would be much better, and easier if you can switch to non flux core and start using mixed gas. Much less spatter, and less warpage with sheet metal with the arc being much cooler. Flux core is not the best for sheet metal work.
I like your vid I have a 1974 d100...hard to find enough vids on older dodge trucks as opposed to the chevys that I also have
Good looking truck , man ! I love the orange and white. Great job !
Mine liked to slosh out the filler neck as well. Turned out it just needed a new gas cap because the old one's gasket was cracked and falling apart.
She is a gem

What tank did you use? Where did you find it? Thanks
BTW, that ‘72 tailgate IS the BEST tailgate Dodge ever developed for the 72-80 light duty trucks! Embossed letters are TITS!
What was the gas tank you used for it?
Link for the gas tank?
Do you still have that truck?
The reason i ask. I have 2 mastercraft tires identical to the ones on your truck. There in new condition. Came off my 89 dodge w150
