As always very honest with no bias. Your evaluation has helped me tremendously. I really want the SE version of the Silver Sky and am warming up to all four colors. I have heard from about everyone on RUclips that PRS has done it again and this is as close as you can get in the SE line to the core model. Great video!
I've never been so tempted to buy a PRS as of right now. What a fantastic sounding guitar.. I may have to buy those pickups and throw em in my Fender Strat

They won’t sell their pick ups. You would have to buy the guitar and take them out. Lol
A guy named ‘Dylan’ on RUclips made better pickups based on the core. They seem to work!
I think you'd have to do some work to make them fit (they're not direct drop-ins, I don't think) but they are seriously the best sounding single coils I've played by a MILE. IMO, they're even better than the core model; better pickups, better neck, a 3rd of the price; you can't beat the Silver Sky SE.

I like the darker rosewood on this rather than on the player strat. Excellent review. One of the best I have seen so far. I have one of these on reserve when they become available.

Great Job Phil! After watching a ton of these video's I feel like they nailed it. We can finally get a PRS single coil guitar at a good price. My SE Silver sky pre-order arrived during the video! Can't wait for it to acclimate to try it. I have USA EG3 bolt on and an SE EG glued neck. Both are excellent. Thanks for another great video!

I have a PRS SE 245, and it is, as you say, ridiculously good. I have a MIM Montery Strat, and it is really good, too, but I had to look at a couple of them in order to get a perfect one.
And I’ll keep my beautifully made MiM strats over this copy! Paul Reed Smith is a brilliant brilliant beginner and far too brilliant and talented to be eating his time on updating a 60 year old deign lol

I have a PRS 24-08 SE and I have to say the fit and finish on it is ridiculously good.
So it didn’t surprise me that the SE Silver Sky is just as good.

I've watched two or three other demos of this thing today and you've managed to get the best tone out of it by a mile. Nice.
I was thinking the same thing. I was like, what is he playing through???? That sounded amazing... I am going buy one because I think it is close enough to the US version and I have another PRS I want that is in that price range.

@@MrScrofulous just watched the tyler video where he talks about the micro bends and i agree great tone and awesome playing. I made my original comment bc i hear Phil's demo as the least spikey/most body in the tone of the few i've heard. Also, regarding Tyler's demo...that olympic white...drool.

Well done! ...and I'd have to agree, from your demo and others I've seen today....the differences are extremely slight and the price difference is much, much greater. If you can't..or don't want to spend the money to get the American made Silver Sky.... you don't have to feel bad about "settling" for the SE. It's a GREAT guitar! Interesting peek at those pickups!

Good job, Phil! $850 for an SE model is a fair price. I paid around that for a new 2015 model SE Custom 24 (in early 2016) and it has been my favorite guitar to play, so much so that I try to set up all my guitars to have the same feel. It's the one electric guitar I have not made any modifications to. I hope there's an SE Fiore soon.

Something that i like it about the wobbly knobs, i really enjoy the way they feel and interact with my playing. I hope they keep that feature on the SE models.

Hi Philp, I picked up a PRS SE Custom, made in Indonesia from Sweetwater in December. I can't say enough about the fit and finish other than excellent... Love the coil taps on the Humbuckers, man the tones I can get are awesome! The set up was excellent from Sweetwater I haven't needed to touch it.
PRS Indonesia I'm all in, I'll be adding more I'm sure to my Jamming collection. Great video Philip.

Man, Phil that bad boy sounds dang good to me. You seemed to be digging it too. The stone blue is a nice colors are all of them although I'm not all that crazy about the berry red. It just isn't my color of choice but to each his own.
