STORIES | Lady Godiva (England) | Audiobook w. Subtitles

Lady Godiva is a story about Godiva (or Godgifu in Old English), an Anglo-Saxon noblewoman from the 11th Century, who, according to legend, rode naked through the streets of Coventry in England, in order to gain from her husband a remission of the oppressive toll imposed on his people. 'Peeping Tom' was also a legendary citizen of Coventry who watched Lady Godiva riding naked through the town. The story teaches us the importance of courage, selflessness and the pursuit of justice for all.
This particular version of the story is inspired by a poem written by poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson, and re-written by Amy Friedman and Meredith Johnson.
