Terribly challenging to think of what job they could possibly be given to do in heaven's rock and roll super group but A) they're still alive and 2) they're contributing time and energy to a very worthy cause here. Coast on, gentlemen.

This was a very meaningful song back in the day. Nice jamming from Joe and Stephen. Tempo a little slower but we're all slowing down a bit aren't we.

From protesting the war. To honoring the vets.
Nice charitable event, by these 2 old gangsters of rock.
However, i choose to remember them from the 70s - not in their 70,s. 🌹⚡️🎶✌️
    What a time it was😁

    Donald Parker is correct

A great example of people hearing memories instead of what is actually being performed. If this was the first time you had ever heard that song or either of these two artists, you would think - meh. On a kind day. I love Joe, his sense of humor and his music and he was a great musician. And Steve was a great writer, singer and player. But these guys have suffered so much damage from substance abuse that, even years after being sober, it clearly affects their movement and speech. This performance is not how I choose to remember these guys.

Disagree in part. Obviously would have been better 50 years ago; but still hall of famers performing some good guitar work with limited practice. These collaborations are never entirely clean; but fun to wAtch.

@@1bionicleking Limited practice? Steve has probably played that song a million times. Regardless - it is a dead simple song. Any medium talent guitar player would have had no trouble playing that tune after a listen or two. I agree - its fun to see the hall of famers, but it is primarily a nostalgia thing. The music just wasn't great IMO.

Your medium talent guitarist is not going to create what Steven did, and your medium talent guitarist is going to get old too.@@donald-parker

@@jimmorrow6523 Yep - Steve wrote a great song. I'm not talking about the writing. I'm talking about the singing and playing. It was .... medium talent. And everyone gets old ... so I'm not sure if there was a point you were trying to make that I missed. My original point was that he is not as good as he was. If this performance gets a lot of love it is due to nostalgia, respect for past accomplishments, reliving some youthful moments, .... it is not based on the musicianship of that performance. I get this. Believe me. I would rather remember my heroes for performances they made at their peak. I find the "love me for what I did 40 years ago and the fact that I can still stand up and sort of play and sort of sing" shows sad.

you obviously missed the peak, I grew up in it. He played woodstock for gods sake, and inspired me and countless other musicians. No, he, or anyone else can reproduce that magic of the 70's, but the fact he is out there playing gets my total respect, so cut him some slack. Cheers @@donald-parker

Pour Steven lost most of hearing so I am sure its tough to sing. Getting old is not for the weak.
