I'm a mechanic, but I've never done a 4jj1 and I was dreading doing my own injector removal and tappet adjustment, just not knowing what bits to be careful of and what tricks to use. This was clear, informative and very helpful, all shown on a dusty old motor not some brand new showroom thing, so we can see which bits give trouble. Thanks a bunch!

Good work mostly, except for the bit at 26:08 where a blob of the excessive sealant drops into the engine. Way too much sealant. You can see the quality of Isuzu in the easy way this service can be accomplished.
Informative video Would have liked to see you wash the engine before you started working on it to avoid dirt entering the engine and would have been better if you washed the rocker cover before you refitted it
Hey I followed your video but the camshaft is not allowing me to get the injectors out? Nor can I even get the brackets off because of the camshaft brackets
What if I fitted used injectors from another vehicle, would these need to be coded? Or is it just for brand new injectors? I don't have a computer to code so I am worried that I might have a none runner after fitting used injectors. Great video! Also how did you get the injector seals out?
Hey just a question i got . I have a 2010 dmax 3l turbo deisel dual cab is there anyway i could change the location of the fuel filter from the passenger to under the bonnet and where its located it keeps bumping the wire connector undernearth it . Any help in this situation would be awesome its in a stupid spot .
Hi On 29 mins the pipe that you're replacing back How we call it ???? Mine is broken, the 4 plastic pin who is connected to the pipe (T T T L) Where the diesel return back ! Can you provide me a link where i can get them ! Thank you
Hi, I have a Holden Rodeo engine is 4jj1 (Isuzu).I'm having issue with engine rev when the engine is cold. When I start the engine in the morning it will rev ok. When I start driving as soon as I apply break to stop or slow down then accelerate the engine rev stay's between 1300 to 1500 even if I push the accelerator pedal all the way down. But if I release and push the accelerator again it starts working fine. When the engine is at normal temp it doesn't have the problem. Please advice I have changed the EGR Valve and Maf sensor still have the same issue.

Got another question when the injectors get done and the high pressure fuel lines get unscrewed from the injector do you replace the whole 4 fuel lines everytime or is it possible because it is only the top of the fuel line you can unscrew it from the injector without replaceing it.

I unplugged the SCV on the back of the fuel pump and it started, think an airlock had got caught in the pump and the SCV wasn’t allowing maximum fuel to get in the pump, unplugging it probably defaulted to maximum fuel dump and it fired. All good after that, thanks though mate
Hi Jake, I have a 2008 Colorado with a 4jj1. It has 270k's on the clock and I have an oil leak on the left hand side of the head and I suspect it's the seals for the injector pipes where they go through the side of head. I have washed the engine and about to give it a run to determine if this is where it is coming from .Have you ever seen this before and what is the fix. Thanks Mick
@@elvinr00 could be anything check the pipes and tapered seats into the injectors seen them leak there many times cos people don't replace the pipes when they do jobs like this which you should do
Are the injector bolts torque to yield bolts and have to be replaced? That's what someone on a Facebook group told me and now I'm worried as I can't find any information online?

Was pretty shocked seeing that. You can even see the sealant on the gears.

Can just slap em in itl run fine it ecu just won't know exactly the fuel metering that injector needs
No need to clean the valve cover to prevent dust from getting into the return lines ?

Meant to replace em but no mechanic does that we skip that then charge you for new ones
Hi mate changed one out today and now the truck won’t start! Don’t seem to be getting any rail pressure, reckon the HP pump has gone?

Have the same problem but in the back I'm going to pull it all off and put a new gasket in to fix it

Why not do a intake clean while you are going to that much effort?

The rocker cover has a gasket in it but Isuzu procedure is to use Threebond silicone as well over the half moons.
