    We had a tournament in a fighting game you may not have played: Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness! This is the origin of Jin Saotome from Marvel vs Capcom, and it's a really amazing game in its own right! Hope you enjoy the video!

    I player Cyberbot a lot, so I can tell:
    The pilot have two purposes, both affecting only the single player campain:
    1) Determ the character's story who will be narrated in the Arcade Mode;
    2) Determ which opponents the player will face.
    The only purpose of the pilot into a 2 Players VS game is to determ the victory line.

    One of the things that makes MvC2 so legendary is the unforseen like roster. Jin (who came from a game that's not popular yet favored), Hayato (who came from a 3D Capcom fighting game), Ruby Heart & Amingo (from cancelled/scrapped Capcom games) Son-Son (descendant of a character from an old school Capcom adventure game) Jill (from RE - another 3D Capcom game), not to mention characters like Servbot & Roll (MegaMan), characters w/ 1st appearances (Cable & Marrow) 2 Wolverines (adamantium claw & bone claw) and almost every character from the previous Capcom Vs series. We'll never see a roster like that every again.

    This game reminded me of a personal favorite of mine, Gundam Battle Assault 2 for the PS1. I had countless hours of fun with that game. In a time where games hadn't yet been overtaken by both hungry corporate overlords and the "e-sports mentality", it was just a fun, simple fighting game, with tons of hours of single player content with so many characters for you to unlock.

    Back in the early 2000's I occasionally had to provide equipment maintenance service in a steel mill located in another town. There was a small arcade with this game near that town's bus station, it's where I first learned of it. Whenever I went there I always made a point of stopping there for a few minutes and play a few rounds. Good memories. 🙂

    If they ever decide to make a part 2, I hope it’s the same concept gameplay but with a small change.
    Each pilot adds 1-2 new special attack to the mech and maybe change/add 1-2 attacks from the basic attack. And signature robot adds unique some unique super. This way there’s a ample amount to mix and match pilot/mech.

    Damn, I wouldn't have guessed you didn't know about this game.
    Back then, I was 15 when it came out, and GODDAMN I was smitten by it !
    Between 94 and 96 was the golden era of Capcom fighting games, and 1995 was a FANTASTIC year ! With hits like the beat'em all Alien Vs Predator and Cyberbots predecessor Armored Warriors, and the Vs games Street Alpha, Darkstalkers, Cyberbots, and X-Men Children of the Atom, the very first Marvel fighting game (very quickly followed by Marvel Super Heroes)... It was truly a marvellous year where Capcom was in full bloom and wasn't afraid to expand several franchises at once, following the planetary smash hit that was Street Fighter 2 and all its derivatives. Cyberbots is one of the more obscure ones that didn't quite stick to the wall, like Alpha , Darkstalkers, and the Marvel series did, but it's personally one of my all-time favorites of the bunch.

    11:06 The only banned secret VA is Warlock because he is broken, and the other three boss characters (Super-8, Helion, Gaits) are legal because Vise (a normal VA) has been proven to be stronger than the other boss characters (top 1 legal character to be exact). Although, if I was the host I would semi-ban Akuma (both players have to consent) due to his console-exclusive nature leaving some players with no matchup experience, even if he’s only high-mid tier.

    Another really unique game that is forever doomed to the jungle of abandoned Capcom IPs. Except they kept Devilotte and still put her in like every crossover.
    I remember it had a PS3 port and I played a little bit of it, I do think the controls felt a little odd due to the unique mechanics and I remember controlling it was kinda confusing because the robot design is really cluttered. I think not really liking the robots was the main reason I didn't play more, they're all a bit too industrial for my taste. Tech Romancer's concept of "parodies of various iconic robots from anime" was an aesthetic I prefer for this sorta thing.
    I think an indie studio could make a Cyberbots-inspired fighter, especially if they're using 3D models, since it's easier to make a convincing robot than it is to make a convincing human.

    I hate that Cr. Heavy punch combo into BLODIA! Super in MVC1 but they took it out in mvc2! Wtf. It was such a satisfying 2 hit combo.
