Better bring a welder with you, hanging the turbo off the back wont last very long . And the suspension will hit the exhaust pipe when it compresses. This is all a learning curve, and make sure the timing cover is sealed up. The sand can and will get in there and the belt will skip off . The buggy looks good but the dezert will show you the changes it will need.
We will have to see what the brace looks like that they mentioned multiple times I suppose. Also the exhaust is running damn near where the original one was and is almost over the pivot point of the rear suspension so the amount of travel it would need to hit the exhaust, it would be bottoming out the buggy. Only time will tell.
I like how you haven't seen this thing perform and you can already tell what is braking and what not, you probably have a hot line to tell ppl their futures....

I have been on a competitive off road race team for years, class 10 , 6100 and class 1 trophy trucks. There is a lot that goes into fabricating an off road vehicle and many hours of testing and breaking and repairing on the fly . Jaime and brent know this as well , I've seen them out in Parker with the Miller crew who we race against. Just when you think you have it figured out baja will kick you, and soft sand is the same. Anyways I hope the car does well and proves me wrong .

They're not even the right tires for dunes. Paddle tires are best for sand. Plus they won't need a dirt sock because when it blows he intends to put a built motor in it and he probably wants that to happen sooner than later.

I waited 7 months for a upstairs shop room update, but you guys were securing the final papers and stuff. It's now been a couple more months and I'm dying to see what it looks like up there! Give us an entire shop update, we all want to see !! haha
You can spray zink spray on the exhaust housing so it doesn't rust and looks good. And when you touch it so it gets dirty, just spray some more zink spray on it and it's like new again. Cheap and easy and it never "burns" away either :)
A few suggestions; 1) Reboot/relube the axles(sand would eat the inside of that axle-knuckle, if not taken care of before the dunes). 2) Oil cooler for the extra heat from the turbo. 3) weld on fins on the exhaust-side of the turbo, to help with heat-exchange, to help keep the turbo cooler. 4) baffle the intercooler, to help bring the airflow through the intercooler from a wider area. 5) over-build an intake-filter to handle all kinds of water and sand, dual chamber if possible
Best car on the channel. The least weight, rwd, mid-engine, good suspension. 5-600whp will be scary as fk in this thing. Edit:This car needs slicks and to be run down the 1/4 for fun. I’m willing to bet money this car will run an easy 9 without much prep.

Hayden had me look up 3 step . Basically instead of 2 rev limiters you have 3. So you could do burnout rev limiter, one for starting line rev limiter and the last could be max rpm.
It is going to be awesome, I would put some wrap on that exhaust where it goes past the shock absorber, make sure the seals on the drive shafts are good, put that plate back over the bottom of the engine. Sand gets in everywhere, you will be shocked when you get back from Glamis.
Not sure if this would work but maybe a a snorkel setup with a very wide mouth just above your heads on top. Should be nice cool clean air. Some kind of air filter would still be a good idea. Other that that, you guys are great. Really like how all of you work together and make some pretty sweet setups. Keep up the great work guys.
@@100MrAlexX4707 The issue with their setup is if they don't do three crucial things: Re-route the intake forward away from the wake (and preferably facing back to block more sand), Install a large area air filter with a sand sock (preferably a dryflow filter as another comment mentioned), Flywheel dust cover must be put back on or the sand will chew up the rear main seal and the clutch friction material. With the turbo, Razzledazzle has enough power potential combined with its weight that its no longer a deluxe dune buggy, its a true sand-rail now, she's gotta pick up the front wheels over dunes at the very least and kick up a wake of sand, that's a sand-rail.
Make sure you add a snorkel to the inlet of the turbo and get your filter up high so it doesn't just suck up a bunch of sand. You probably want to add a scavenge pump too for when you are going up and down dunes so that it doesn't have to fight the return and blow out the seals.

I think a proper airbox mounted above or right next to the intercooler would be a good idea to keep dirt and sand off that turbo. Considering you are going off roading, low mounted turbo behind the rear wheels is going to suck a lot of dirt if not protected.

You might want to invest in some of those side view mirrors that cletus got for Leroy. Your cooler looks like it'll block your view quite a bit. Don't wanna cut someone off by accident at the dunes!
id run the Y to turbo section differently . looked like you might hit the pipe through suspension travel , and or over heat the spring altering rate. especially if you plan to jump it , id check full travel and clearances.
That little piece of sheet metal might be the difference between a fun day at the dunes and a day stuck in the middle of nowhere. Hope they put it back on... I bet the previous owner had sand get in there and wreck the clutch.
Used to work on rails/dual purpose cars like this in the early 00's. We always tried to keep the turbo intake in front of the wheels to help with them sucking garbage in, especially sand. If you are planning on mobbing this in the dunes at glamis, you might want to make an intake snorkel with a decent filter and pre-filter.

You can put anti lag too but you need a speed sensor , the mendeola 2d trans you Have doesn’t have one . You need to buy the toner ring that goes over on the U joint and get a speed sensor . If you go to Pacific customs or KARTEK they should have what’s needed to work for the AEM to use the anti lag

You'll be happy that you turbo'ed that thing when you get to Glamis. There's no such thing as too much power in the sand. You guys rock, maybe ill drive down when you guys come out in Oct. I live in nor Cal and would love to come cheer on my boiz🤘🤘
I'm excited to see you take a big jump in razzle dazzle. I would consider painting the exhaust or something. I wonder if it will rust really badly being around a lot of water. Also maybe consider water proofing everything, snorkel would be pretty dope for that turbo. Then you could do anything in it.
Like I said before you should rub down that exhaust turbo housing with a thin layer of peanut oil. It will turn brown the next time you heat it up and offer some rust protection. Otherwise you should use some header paint on it.

Time for a good filter with a dust sock and dirt deflection shroud that close to the rear tires gonna need cleaned regularly.

Put a stainless snorkel on it. Keep the sand out from the back wheels
make sure to check for bottom out clearance on the boost tubes the suspension moves a lot.

id run the Y to turbo section differently . looked like you might hit the pipe through suspension travel , and or over heat the spring altering rate. especially if you plan to jump it , id check full travel and clearances.

Used to work on rails/dual purpose cars like this in the early 00's. We always tried to keep the turbo intake in front of the wheels to help with them sucking garbage in, especially sand.
If you are planning on mobbing this in the dunes at glamis, you might want to make an intake snorkel with a decent filter and pre-filter.
Route the bov into an intake tube, and a big cone filter with a sock, sand will go in places you didn't think possible.
Also keep an eye on the shifter cables. They are close to the hot exhaust pipe.

You can put anti lag too but you need a speed sensor , the mendeola 2d trans you
Have doesn’t have one . You need to buy the toner ring that goes over on the U joint and get a speed sensor . If you go to Pacific customs or KARTEK they should have what’s needed to work for the AEM to use the anti lag
That’s awesome. Years ago (late 90’s, early 00’s) we’ve done fully built b16’s, Acura legend v6 motors and one NSX motor on the sand rails. Lots a fun. Totally miss doing that stuff.
You'll be happy that you turbo'ed that thing when you get to Glamis. There's no such thing as too much power in the sand. You guys rock, maybe ill drive down when you guys come out in Oct. I live in nor Cal and would love to come cheer on my boiz🤘🤘
I'm excited to see you take a big jump in razzle dazzle. I would consider painting the exhaust or something. I wonder if it will rust really badly being around a lot of water. Also maybe consider water proofing everything, snorkel would be pretty dope for that turbo. Then you could do anything in it.
Like I said before you should rub down that exhaust turbo housing with a thin layer of peanut oil. It will turn brown the next time you heat it up and offer some rust protection. Otherwise you should use some header paint on it.
Keep an eye on the heat next to the right rear shock. Probably will build pressure in the shock
Hayden is a hell of a welder. Alot of the stuff kyle makes is beautiful too. But haydens got the finess for angles and making it look soo pretty

S14 and Razzle should use the same setup like Rowdessy and MR2 that way you can almost always have one going. Plus it'll help refine both builds.
