  • Jaimunji of Metal Roos delves deep into the darkness with Scott Ian Lewis of Carnifex to explore the upcoming release, "Necromanteum." In this exclusive interview, they discuss the band's evolution over 18 years and the intriguing fusion of deathcore with atmospheric elements in their ninth studio album.
The concept of "Necromanteum" is unveiled, inspired by the ancient practice of psychomanteum-secret rooms filled with mirrors used to communicate with the dead. Carnifex contemplates the idea of conversing with death itself, not as a monstrous entity but as a profound intellect. What secrets could be unraveled from such a dialogue with the grim reaper? The album's title track, "Necromanteum," is released alongside the interview, offering a glimpse into the existential themes explored.
Scott Ian Lewis shares insights into the recording process, revealing that "Necromanteum" was crafted over several weeks with producer Jason Suecof in Florida. The return of live drums, previously hindered by COVID-19 restrictions on "Graveside Confessions," adds a dynamic layer to the album. Co-produced by Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron, and mastered by Mark Lewis in Nashville, Tennessee, the album promises a unique sonic experience.
    "Necromanteum" track listing:
    Torn In Two
    Death's Forgotten Children
    Necromanteum
    Crowned In Everblack
    The Pathless Forest
    How The Knife Gets Twisted
    Architect Of Misanthropy
    Infinite Night Terror
    Bleed More

I feel like all the albums sound the same but it’s so good how they write but I feel like they need to change it up a little more because literally all the songs sound the same When I hear music, it just sounds the same They need to add different techniques maybe try to make it down tempo album mix with death metal it would be freaking sick I’m not trying to hit on the babe
