- Recently got this Kala U-Bass (bass ukulele). I muted the original bass (Jamerson) from the multitrack and recorded the bass uke straight into Logic

Dude...stinkin' amazing. This just goes to show that anyone who puts time into their craft can make anything sound good. Bass quality is important, but practice is even more...great playing.
This video was part of the reason why I picked up bass, and now it’s one of my favorite instruments that I play. Thanks man 👍
TheOfficialLobst thanks a lot mate! 👍

Beautiful feel to your playing, Richard - really in the pocket :-)
I ordered one last week and discovered this after the fact. This should absolutely be the advertisement for the product!
Outstanding! You've brought out the best in this little bass. I have had my U-Bass since June 2010 and still love it.

I own a ukulele and for the first time today ever saw a ukulele bass. I was at Sam Ash Music and saw one and was impressed. Came back to watch vids of ukulele basses on RUclips and found your video amongst all the videos and I have to say your video sold me on this bass. I gotta get one after seeing/hearing your video. Thanks for posting.

Wow. Nice playing, man! Super technique, and that Kala is sounding pretty damn good too!
Edward Newbold ...all the sound of a guy wrestling with a double bass....from basically one fretboard position...Positively inspirational.
Phenomenal!
Very nice! well played! sounds great! You would think it's a real life size bass playing.
Hello Richard your bass playing skills are amazing real cool video piece.

Nice groove Richard, with this Ukulele Bass!
Always after watching this video I understand that kala U basses are the best ones :)
wow good playing brother and kala U bass sound really good. your video made me buy a Kala U Bass. hahaha
Liquid gold bro...
I was wondering if I should buy one of these things...... Well how can I not buy one now? That was such a great example of what this instrument can do... Beautifully played Richard.... outstanding.
It's still not the real thing, if you listen carefully. you can tell right away if you listen to his other video with a normal bass.
I was thinking of getting these things and then I thought maybe I should just get a real bass.
Awesome Groove Man!
Parabéns, a musica é boa, o som do instrumento é excelente e o baixista é SENSACIONAL, honestamente o melhor que eu já ouvi! Saúde e sucesso para você!
Excellent!!

Dialed in nice with the Kit!
VERY SMOOTH :O)
If @Vulf says it's funky, you know it's funky.
You are like Jamerson on that Kala U-Bass!
nice groove sir
damn i prefer listening to this than the original song. that bass mix is so raw jkadlgjakdgjalkd
I like this. :D
You should do a cover of "I'm All About That Bass" with the U-Bass. Cool cover!
Smooth
10 Stars
Cool, man
Beautiful feel for this iconic song. Now pick up a P bass with flat wounds and a bridge mute and give us an updated version.....
Impressive.
Hey brother can we find that video anywhere else? I really enjoyed watching it...
Awesome playing man, I can tell you really studied Jamerson's line. A lot of uke basses have a string noise/attack similar to an upright, a clack, but you achieved a very smooth attack, more like an electric with flat wound strings. Did you do anything special with your strings/technique/signal chain to achieve that?
I concur, pleaaaaaase enlighten us. Also, which model of U-Bass is this?
Wow. Really funky and with the vibe. How did you manage to get the multi-track of the song? 🥺
What strings are you using on those ubass?
this is rad - anyone know what model off the UBass line this is? if it's the cheaper rumbler, i'm buying today
Is this fretless or fretted? And are those new strings?
good very, good :-)
Great!! I'm in the market for a u-bass but there are so many different ones to choose from....Which one did you use for this vid? Any recommendations??! I'm looking at the rumbler.....but the hutch hutchinson model looks cool too.....
is there anyway i could get the sheet music from that?
awesome! I want to buy a fretless u-bass :-)
I play fretted 4-string bass but not as good as you yet.
THIS IS GREAT! Which Kala is this? And what Kala U-Bass would you suggest? Thank you!
Are those the Silver Rumbler strings? How do they compare to the stock strings as far as playability and low end stability? I just got a U-Bass, so thanks in advance for your reply.
hey richard, how do you find these strings compare to kala stock ubass strings?
awesome sound!!!!! how you record it???
can you please share with me the lick you are doing at the end of the song, from Am7 to Bmaj9, when you are on the Bmaj, you are sliding to the 10th (D#) and then doing something else....love that lick...can u please share? i cannot figure it out
Wow...
