well done uploader! might be the funniest 10min in history, i absolutely love the K-man anecdotes from his childhood. and the merchant insult was epic, Karl has perfected those to a science. i completely lost it when he went "ouuh what's he gonna do?" xD
Depends who you ask. Different regions of England make fun of each other (there's a well-known "North-South divide") just like people do in every other country. Ricky makes jokes about Karl's being a Manc and his accent (Northern accents are stronger and seen as more comical compared to the milder Southern ones), just like he takes the piss out of Steve's West Country accent, but it's all good-natured fun. Nothing malicious.
if i had a time travel machine the first thing i would do is go back in time to karls talent show and watch him in a dress dancing and miming to walk like an egyptian.
Don't forget though as Karl has stated many times, Ricky is a "iron lung" he needs him but he wishes he doesn't. Karl would be a normal un-famous producer working with a few bits of radio equipment and would have lost any future job prospects after the Xfm show ceased, it was because of Ricky and to a lesser extent Steve that he and the shows we love today, such as An Idiot Abroad, Moaning of Life, the podcasts etc were actually made.
Sir .Driken That's true but Ricky isn't going to really going to change or accept that Karl is a huge part of Rickies career, I had a debate with a member who was adament that Ricky would have been as famous as he is now without Karl, yet he forgets the podcast was one of the most downloaded in history, the xfm shows would have been "just another radio show" if Karl wasn't in it and all that led on to An Idiot Abroad, Moaning of Life etc whereas Ricky would be stuck with the Office idea, maybe get a bit from the US Office, some standup etc but Ricky is majority known for An Idiot Abroad as the Office is quite popular but its an acquired taste, whereas An Idiot Abroad is a show everyone can relate to hence why its so famous, in fact I hear more people liking Karl than Ricky so for Ricky to say, what is basically him saying "I created Karl" is a demonstration of Rickies arrogance.
guys. it's the formula of the show. ricky very obviously told karl that the stupidity thing is a good schtick and that he can build a career with it. and karl exaggerates it on purpose. in the end it all worked out. why the fuck else do you think he would take all the insults and public humiliation.

I disagree soooo much, Steve Merchant isn't classist or sexist. He may joke about it and use it as his material, on several occasions he has criticised Karl's treatment of Suzanne and Ricky was from a working class background so he couldn't be classist, That's just my opinion though.
Listen to more of the old shows is all I can suggest. I'm not one to jump to conclusions and I started out really liking Steve, but the more I heard of him the more he began to rub me the wrong way.
