  • Front plugs and coils are not that bad but the rear ones is what this video is for..take your time remember your steps and everything you unplugged or removed and put them back..it will set you back on some time..relax and Enjoy...S7E336
    PS, I've been told I forgot to mention the 6 bolts holding down the intake plenum in order for it to be removed but clearly its right there in front of you and you can't miss them.

    I looked at about 5-6 videos before settling on this one. It was great, good lighting, very accurate, no moronic music, the explanation was clear and to the point, and we didn't take the unnecessary scenic route. Other videos require you to take too much finnicky stuff off. I found that my "hidden screw" at the back was a 12mm (not 13). I only realized this when I had difficulty putting it back in.
    I got two quotes before tackling it. You save me about $360 at the local garage and about $450 at the dealership ($160 per hour). If you were closer I would buy you a beer, or two or three.
    Liked the N.Y. directness, refreshing!

I watched what felt like 30 other videos, ended up in my garage, STILL, 4 hours later with only the front three changed. Wish I had just watched this one the first time. I'll be done in 30 mins now. 2 things I didn't see mentioned .... there are 4 each 10 mm bolts in the center of the manifold & 2 each 10 mm nuts on the right & left front corners of the manifold that all need to come out. If you don't remove these the manifold will not come off. Good idea to replace PCV valve when you get the manifold off. Access is easy.

I highly recommend replacement of the coils, old coils on new plugs are nbot a good idea because the coils build resistance, and the back ones your not going to want to do this all over again if one goes in back a day later.

    Just bought a 2013 Murano and this video was my first and ONLY reference I need to get to the back bank of plugs. Not only informative and clear, it was entertaining. I had to rewind and rewatch one segment about 6 times. Regarding one of the vacuum hoses on the firewall. He sez "don't forget to reattach this hose or it'll run like CRAP. I dunno, the bluntness, the un-sugar coating, the ACCENT. Makes me wish I was working on cars with him in the neighborhood. Loved it. And, THANKS. I'll have the plugs swapped out by Tuesday.

      Double check your vacuum hoses, they might be sucking in air..did you clean the throttle plate while you were there...check also the intake hose for cracks and clamps are tight..its clearly something you removed because I'm assuming you didn't have that code before.

    • @alyoungcuda

      When looking at the engine from the front..the cylinder in the front by the radiator is #2 on the left meaning passenger side then #4,#6
      In the back is #1 opposite #2 then goes #3,#5. So #5 is on the drivers side by the windshield..

    • @alyoungcuda
      @alyoungcuda  8 месяцев назад +2

      You can, you just need to remove the 2 rubber hoses and the connector for the throttle plate but remember there is a bracket on the bottom Allen bolt, so you might need to disconnect everything that is attached to that..good luck, I'm sure it can be done, these things happen when working on cars..

      @@alyoungcuda Thanks AL, I do a YT channel too and I post all my vehicle maintenance videos as well. I do torque specs, shots of the factory or services manuals, chemicals used, list of tools, part numbers, cost etc, etc. The average back yard mechanic like myself love video's that get to the point, like yours. I gear mine towards the novice who knows little to nothing about vehicle maintenance and tool use. That's one of the reasons why they take so long. @@alyoungcuda yes that 13mm in the back...i found that NOT that hard to remove and install - the trick I used was using both my hands - one hand to hold the bolt in place and the other hand with a 13mm short ratchet. The problem I had was the removing the vertical hose to the side - the clamp had the prongs faced the other way. It was easier for me to reinstall the manifold AFTER connecting this hose. THANKS so much for your DIY video! I saw a handful of these videos on youtube before waiting 140,549 original miles on my 2009 Murano (don't judge haha) to change the plugs and coil packs...and I found your video the best! There was so much gunk built up on the inside of the throttle body, plenum and inlets. After I changed the plugs and cleaned out the gunk as much as possible - my SUV runs much smoother! The only extra part I had to buy was a new 7/64" vacuum hose for the front which was badly dry rotted.
