I make drop biscuits when I'm in a hurry.. I love the Borden whole cultured Buttermilk! It is 100% the best in my opinion❤ . I make my drop biscuits more on the " wet" side also...okay...I " drop " mine out with a spoon separately..not all in one large piece. I grate about half a stick of butter into my biscuit mixture before incorporating it all together...I'm most definitely going to try my hand at making them like you though! I do like trying new ways of baking/ cooking! They look absolutely yummiliscious! I love how drop biscuits " fluff up"soooo near to coming outta the skillet! I've used the same Ole 40 year old, well-seasoned cast iron skillet for my biscuits! Everyone knows this is my " biscuits/ cornbread/ pancake and cake skillet...& to not use it for anything else! ❤ 100 % on the Brown biscuits!❤ I lovvvvve my local honey or Sorghum Molasses on my biscuits as well...ohhhh myyy goooodness! These biscuits remind me of my aunt Margaret flower biscuit but we didn't put them in the oven. She was fry those biscuits on the top of her stove. A neighbor come out just like they were baked in the oven. It sounds like your mom and my art did the same thing with the drop biskit, but the way they did it and skip it was one big biscuit and it just couldn't turn it over. While it was on top of the stove and browned it on both side. S, oh I love that.❤
I had to use one teaspoon of salt and baking powder. I did try the measurements you use and it was too salty for me. The second batch, I used one teaspoon of salt and baking powder. I don’t use too much seasoning anyway. I very seldom use salt. The pan came out right and thanks Mama T Speaks. I love and make just about all your recipes and will be making more.
